  1. Why? What was wrong with my post? We do have a proper winger in Januzaj, who LVG terribly mismanaged, as he also did with Di Maria. We don't get into enough goalscoring chances, so our finishing has to be spot on in order to make the most of these, so Van Gaal is to blame there again for not doing more to sort that out. It most certainly is not a myth and any quick browsing on any Man Utd forum will show this. In fact, we had a clear case of this the other week where Van Gaal brought Ashley Young on as a sub and played him as a striker. He has also done this with Fellaini, so that's two. Ashley Young and Valencia as full-backs when they're actually wingers, so that's four. He's also played Fellaini as an actual central midfielder many times, when we know that his strengths like playing as a number 10 or at least as an advanced midfielder. Herrera is another that Van Gaal has mismanaged and doesn't know where to play him (when he actually does play him...the midfield should have been built around him, since he's one of the only players who can actually do what Van Gaal wants, which is to keep the ball...absolutely baffling). Mata has absolutely no pace, so putting him on the right and expecting him to do something there is stupid. He might have been more use in a different league on the wing, but he can't do that now and especially not in this league. Martial has played wide left since he came when every fan wants to see him up front. Rooney has played central midfield, left, right and up front under Van Gaal. There's also Lingard to factor in there. Depay, too. This is great and is just a small taste of what I was getting at: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/04/12/louis-van-gaals-five-most-baffling-tactical-decisions-at-man-utd/ These players all looked like good prospects when coming to United. They're not being given a run in the side and can't properly get adjusted to a new league if they're not being given a run of games. Smalling has been dodgy for years partly due to injuries but has been one of our better players this year because he's had that run of games in the right position. The players need time, but they also need to be part of a team that is playing the right way to give them the best chance possible. Darmian + a pacey winger on the right could probably work great. Darmian + Mata is just asking for trouble...there's no pace there for Darmian to work with. Depay would work in a more free-flowing system and would probably look great in a club like Spurs where they play more attractive football. The one good thing that LVG has done is give the youth players a chance. But, he's done that after his signings haven't worked out. I don't truly believe that this was his intention. If Darmian and Shaw were both fit and doing a great job week in week out and the likes of Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger were keeping that midfield tight, would we have seen the likes of Fosu-Mensah or Borthwick-Jackson? Guardiola has much better players, true. But, that's exactly it, you need the right players to play such a system. I have no idea why Van Gaal is busy trying to implement such a system in a short space of time when it's of no benefit to this league and where he's only going to be here for a short space of time anyway. The next manager will just come and start again from scratch...we were on a better track last season, I don't really understand why LVG decided to scrap it all and do what he's done. He's wasted a system and put us even further behind.
  2. Don't give up. I applied for a job at Sainsburys years back and didn't get it. Ine applied for one at ASDA and didn't get one. Hang in there and keep going. These sorts of jobs will attract tons of people and it's partly down to pot luck whether you get through or not.
  3. Really? You enjoy watching that? Granted, the last few performances have been better, at least during one half of play. But, we don't create anywhere near as many chances as the opposition and our finishing is generally poor. Even yesterday was a disappointing performance considering that we were at home, we took the lead and we were playing against 10 men at the end. We never looked like winning the game. LVG IS the problem. He's playing too many players out of position and isn't helping to improve the confidence of some of the older ones. Herrera, Darmian and Depay all looked like excellent signings but none of them have kicked on since arriving. The manager isn't getting the most out of these players. Bayern are more than a class above us, imo. They end up passing the ball because that's Guardiola's style. I admit that I don't like it, but he implements that style better than Van Gaal does and at least he wins games doing so. In the Premier League, you need to be more aggressive. We can discount European football for now and just think about applying a style suitable for the league and it's just not good enough. You need to do something with the ball to try to win the game. I reckon we're stuck with Van Gaal for another season. Instinct is telling me that. Looking forward to the game tonight. Predictions, people? Chelsea 3 - 0 Spurs
  4. Well, it's kinda implied with the last point about them needing to adapt. If Nintendo do adapt and actually move forward, then everything has the potential to turn out good. I was really looking forward to seeing what their plans were at E3, but that's really dealt a blow.
  5. From my own personal viewpoint, this is how I'd see things. Worst possible outcome: Nintendo stop making games AND hardware. That's the worst possible outcome. No Nintendo games on ANY console. Nintendo not making hardware: I do think that there's still a place for Nintendo in this world, but they reeeally need to start moving with the times and start working much faster in order to keep up. Imo, they're slowly becoming irrelevant. That being said, it would be interesting to see how Nintendo would go about putting their games on other systems. I don't suddenly think they'd start bringing back the "oldies" like F Zero. The breadth of their games would probably become more narrower, with a big focus on platformers as that's what they do really well. (or at least, what sells) Nintendo stay as they are: Not a great outcome for me. They do need to adapt. The longer Nintendo take to do this, the further behind they'll slip. Maybe not in terms of sales initially, but in terms of perception and public image, which will eventually impact on sales.
  6. That's such a typical United performance. Decent in the first half, bad in the second. Possibly should have had a penalty (at the end) yet could have given one away in the first half. Opposition have a player sent off, yet Fellaini should have gone, too. Subs weaken the team. No real urgency to win the game despite a draw not being good enough to keep our slim top four hopes alive. No real drive in midfield and not really watertight at the back either. A draw is a fair result, but I don't think either side will be truly happy. I do think Leicester will beat Everton, who are just as inconsistent as us. I also do think Chelsea will beat Spurs. Overall, Leicester will be worthy Champions, but I'm glad that they didn't do it on our turf today because that would have been a hard one to swallow!
  7. I'm tempted to say Leicester will nick it at the end now. We've gone back to our usual sloppy/cautious self. We've taken off Lingard too who looked alright, so we've been well and truly Van Gaal'd in this second half. The more I see Rojo play, the more I don't like him in.
  8. A good first half. As much as I want Leicester to win the league, I don't want them to win it today. However, we started off well and look good in parts, but we've really dropped off the pace. Think it could stay as a draw, this one, which is decent for Leicester but doesn't really do much for us.

    P.T.

Goodnight...does that mean "goodnight, the project is finally over" or "goodnight, sweet dreams ;)"? There have been tons of rumours that Del Toro and Kojima were going to take the premise of this and carry on with the project, but obviously without the Silent Hill/s name. I hope to God that this is what is happening here.
  10. Oh, my issue was that it was just a bit annoying. I'm pretty sure when I downloaded The Walking Dead, it came as a complete download, whereas this downloaded and installed in parts. Your issue is something else entirely, still not sure what happened with your PS3. We finished Episode 2 yesterday:
  11. I reeeeally wanted to play Episode 2 after work on Thursday. Came home, ate my tea and decided to start it up. Imagine my horror when I realised that you had to download and install each episode individually! Gah. By the time it all finished, it was time for bed. I played part of Episode 2 yesterday and loved it. But, I was barely awake after football, so had to stop. Will finish later.
  12. I had an Amazon voucher and I've finally used it up on these two essentials... aaaaand I've bought The Walking Dead Volume 25. Reeeeally looking forward to reading this after the events of the last Volume, which was one of my favourites eveeeeeer.
  13. I felt really leggy playing football yesterday. I lifted on Thursday, like I usually do, but for some reason I felt really tired and couldn't get into it. Probably as the result of a long week at work.
  14. I'd say that watching somebody else play this game is more intense than playing it yourself. It doesn't help that @Eenuh and I approach the game a bit differently. We dodge at different times or we attack in different ways. I prefer the Kirk Hammer and she likes the cleaver. It's very intense watching her play and knowing that she could reach the death screen in any second, and you can't really do a thing about it! Ahhhh.
  15. That art video was nice. I'm reeeeeally looking forward to getting hold of this. 2 months, people! Argghghhghghgh. So excited. Tempted to make a Spotify playlist of "Space music" to have on at some point in the future whilst chilling in this game. (although the 65Days soundtrack is going to kick arse) Some David Bowie will go down a treat. Maybe some Muse? God is an Astronaut! Hnnnnnggggggg.
  16. Guardiola has diluted Bayern Munich. They were much more exciting to watch and were much more dangerous before he came to the club. I want Atletico to go through. Sorry, brah.
  17. I think they've done a super-fine job of that already.
  18. I'm not sure I even see the point in watching Nintendo's E3 stuff... Really annoyed and disappointed. First at the Zelda move, then the lack of NX stuff. They're doing a fantastic job at alienating their fanbase.
  19. We've got Tropico V on Mac, but I'm going to give it a go on PS4 anyway as I didn't really play that much of it first time around.
  20. I could seriously still see that happening. Retro have to be making something, unless they're moving everything across to the NX as we speak.
  21. I've just got in from work and made a cuppa. I checked the Zelda thread and saw the delay to 2017. Fucking awful. Day ruined. I saw that this thread had loads of activity. No NX at E3? Are you fucking shitting me? What's this about no playable WiiU games? I really don't understand what Nintendo are doing? They're becoming more irrelevant by the second. So, what exactly are they going to show at E3? 3DS stuff? Fucks saaaaaake. Awful day to be a Nintendo fan. They've basically told us to just forget about 2016...in April.
  22. Is this absolutely confirmed then that Zelda will not be coming this year? Pretty fucking annoyed, more than anything. I hated Skyward Sword, am not a big fan of the WiiU, but still was looking forward to playing Zelda. No Zelda for another year is shiiiiit news. I'm not counting Hyrule Warriors and the remakes because who in their right mind would count those? Terrible news.
  23. I don't trust Nintendo to not fuck it up. I could just see them focusing on a control scheme and nerfing the game completely. The definition of "not being able to see the forest for the trees".
  24. Infinite Warfare just makes me laugh. I can just imagine a battle-hardened soldier from the future looking into the camera whilst smoking a cigar grunting, "War never ends!"
