  1. To put it very briefly... It's a bit like smallville meets xmen meets lost. To put it more briefly than that - It's chuffin' awesome!
  2. Heroes is so so good. It's overtaking lost as my favourite show at the moment and I'm a total lost geek. To whoever it was that was saying channel 4 or five should pick up the UK rights to the show, I think the sci-fi channel already has them. Pretty sure I remember reading that somewhere
  3. BGS

    IE7

There's already a discussion for this in the tech/PC page.
  4. I thought it was okay. Great to see Locke again but overall it was a bit 'Meh.' The flashback felt very unfinished even if they do plan to follow it up.
  5. First thing I'm gonna do is check out the channels and get everything set up properly. Then I'm gonna make a Mii. Then I'm gonna play Wii Sports and THEN I'm gonna do nothing but play Twilight Princess for about a week. So excited.
  6. Anyone know if there's one of these in Manchester? Actually... anyone know of a decent arcade full stop in Manchester?
  7. Yesterday. Next time will no doubt be next week when I see my girlfriend again... Unless anything comes of the girl I just met in a club tonight. Who was welsh. and VERY hot. and wanted my number </boasting>
  8. The veil should not be banned. If you have a problem with it then deal with it because it's YOUR problem. It's part of their religion. Although in the recent case about the teacher wearing the veil... Well. She was a junior school teacher. Kids would NEED to see her mouth to be able to be successful in English. When you learn to speak english and other languages, you copy other people's mouth movements to produce different sounds. Most of our communication is done not verbally but through body movements including facial expressions. For children so young where they are still learning how to perfect communication, a teacher wearing a face covering veil is completely unacceptable.
  9. Depending on where you're living, Hull is absolutely shite for Taxis. I could hardly ever get a taxi to come to my house to take me somewhere, wherever I was going. If town isn't too far away, I suggest walking there and getting a taxi from the rank outside Prince's Quay. That's what I always used to do anyway but I only lived about 5 /10 mins away at max from town.
  10. nintendork, I hate to spoil things for you, but...
  11. Yeah, they revealed a hell of a lot this episode. Few things I just didn't expect at all. Plus the final scene was pretty haunting I think.
  12. In multiplayer I can see loads of different scenario's that would involve this. Think of the game The Ship. Everybody has one specific character to kill. To bring this game onto offline multiplayer on a console, at the start of the round you'd keep needing other players to look away whilest you find out who you need to kill. This would almost wreck the experience I think. With the Wii the remote could simply whisper "kill player 3" to you and because everyone else will be trying to hear who they are meant to kill, noone would hear your victim. Obviously with that specific game there'd still be the problem that you could see where all the other player characters were but it was just the first example I thought of. I'm sure there are a hell of a lot of undiscovered multiplayer games that could use the remote like this. EDIT I also don't think the controller would be able to handle speech too well but there's been perfectly understandable speech on the GBA before. okay, shitty quality, but definitely understandable.
  13. I definitely do remember this but I've got a sneaky feeling it might have just been Matt speculating again when it was found out the Wii remote had a small amount of onboard memory.
  14. Yeah but I meant the links to the history of that page specifically where it got vandalized. Gaming pages getting vandalized on wiki isn't very new, PS3's has been locked due to vandalism too and there are other games that are constantly getting vandalized. In fact loads of of pages get vandalized on wiki that go completely unnoticed. I thought the fact that he was making a thread about it meant that there was some kind of 'interesting' vandalisim going on to have a look at.
  15. From BBC News this morning... "Only Iran, which also faces Security Council action over its failure to suspend its uranium enrichment programme - has voiced support for North Korea." Hahahaha! Iran is ALREADY being shoehorned into being exactly the same thing as North Korea and the current scaremongering buzzword for nukes and the like, 'weapons of mass destruction' is already being bandered about by the US in their proposals. "Halting trade in material that could be used to make weapons of mass destruction" You just wait. In a couple of months Iran and North Korea will be exactly the same thing and they'll both have weapons that are a -direct- threat to US security. Either that or they'll play it as a 'very noble attempt to help save our brothers in the free world' or other such bollocks. Iran's army is not even half the size of the North Korean force. And possibly more importantly, Iran, unlike North Korea, is absolutely drowning in oil. The troops'll be in Iran in no time!
  16. Got a link to the history page where it was vandalized dude? I don't see it there.
  17. 96% of the world's known nuclear weapons are in possession of the US and the USSR. USSR are still disarming a lot of them but the US disarmament has practically come to a standstill. Why the hell is it okay for them to have so many damn nukes? Why don't more of the so called 'developed' countries kick more of a fuss about that? Because they're scared of America's power. Not just in weaponary terms and force but in every possible way. North Korea demonstrating to the world that they have (or trying to make it seem like they have) nuclear weapons is a very worrying thing. Especially when Bush has gone on record saying that North Korea having access to that kind of power is simply unacceptable. And we all know how much George Bush likes to think of himself as President of the World. If they think North Korea has nuclear weapons they'll -probably- go in (though NK doesn't have -much- oil as an extra incentive for Bush - thank god) but with kim jong il at the helm I dread to think what could happen.
  18. Well I'm really happy about this. Mainly because if anyone bought out youtube (and it was going to happen sometime soon) then i'd rather it be google than news corp or a company like that. I'm sure google will leave youtube pretty much how it is in terms of branding. I think they'll merge a lot of google video content into it and eventually, if anything, I think google video will bite the dust. Google bought out Blogger and that's pretty much stayed how it always used to be, albeit with better features and such.
  19. I think it all started well but some of the most interesting bits of the premiere I'd already watched in the promos. I was hoping for a bit of a WTF?! moment at the end of the ep also which didn't come.
  20. Tried this today but I don't see how it's any better than an on-screen keyboard. I think the on-screen one is much quicker.
  21. I think the multiplayer in MP2 was an acquired taste. Play it for a little bit and yeah, it seemed really shit. But if you kept at it a little while and stopped comparing it to other FPS multiplayer modes and realised that its not trying to be a traditional FPS multiplayer and then you accepted it for what it is... THEN you might see that it's quite an original and rewarding multiplayer experience. Me and my bro have had some awesome MP2 multiplayer matches.
  22. Freaking hell, if they do do a VIP one where you get it all early then i'll definitely be signing up and trying to get store credit back on my HMV wii preorder.
  23. Dizzy!! (sort of)
  24. Just added you! Either Mario Kart is good though I actually quite like the N64 one although I've not got it with me
