Yeah, thought I'd just rub it in a little more too and tell you that I saw them live at Leeds a couple of years ago. The crowd was absolutely mental, so much so that the barriers at the front buckled and there was a big crowd collapse. Was on the news if I remember. They were absolutely awesoem though. System are such a great band and overlooked by too many as just a screaming, shed building metal band

Is yet another Wii name discussion thread really needed?

On the Madden game interview over at IGN, the EA rep says outright that the Nunchuck has an 'accelerometer' in it. I really don't think this can be the third big secret. Nintendo would no way let any developer reveal that information before E3. EDIT: Link for the lazy... http://revolution.ign.com/articles/703/703727p2.html Quote for the very lazy...

I'm pretty sure it is pronounced 'cock'. I've spoken to their PR guys a couple of times and they've never said anything when I've pronounced it 'cock'

More and more I am beginning to think that this was a great move on Nintendo's part. Everybody is talking about the name. Visually it looks good, great idea for the double 'i' representing two people playing games. It's short, easily remembered and original. The only real down point to the whole thing is that the urine connection. But I don't think this will be such a bad thing in the near future. Just look how everyone jumped on the name and came up with every pun thinkable. In a week, heck just in a couple of days, every single pun regarding Wii will have been done to death. Don't you see? The playstation 3 and Xbox 360, due to their multi syllable nature both have practically infinite possibilities of unoriginal puns that can be done (poostation, shitbox360 etc..) but the Wii only has one and once that has been done to death (which will be very soon) people will be fed up of it and simply see Wii as Wii and not urine. You'll soon look a bit of a dick if you're making yet another lame Wii=piss pun. I mean, even at E3, say Sony or Microsoft decide to take a dig at Wii, they're going to look very lame and unoriginal. Great move on Nintendo's part, genius in fact. Also, I find of greater importance is that since the announcement (whether this will stick, I don't know but I think it might) whenever I have read the word "we" Nintendo's "Wii" has instantly sprung up in my mind. This, I think is one huge thing that will make this "Wii" name extremely valuable in the future and shows Nintendo is a lot smarter than people think right now.

The double 'i' thing is quite cool and it gives great marketing potential as illustrated by the cool video. It's also quite nice to have a very short one syllable word for the console, very "Web 2.0". Put Wii? Wee? WTF?! As someone else said, I instantly thought of World War II when I saw the name. Definitely not good. Nintendo are quite literally taking the piss. (sorry, I had to slip in a pun there seen as though everyone seems to be doing it in every single sentence. Grah!)

If the next mario looked as good as those two screenshots then I'd be more than happy. But as Mike said, I'd prefer the next one to be based more in Mushroom Kingdom weirdness than the real world. Can't see any signs of stereoscopic 3D when those pictures are blown up though. Saying that, I think stereoscopic 3d would be a great thing to put in some (not all) revolution games. If you think about it, it could make things so much better. Say you're playing a sword fighting game in first person mode. Without the 3d you could slash and swing but you wouldn't be able to judge thedepth of where to swing too well. With stereoscopic 3d you could see the opponents sword coming out to you and you could hit back at it at the appropriate depth adding an entirely new dimension of play. Wouldn't matter what angle you were at to the tv either as the 3d bits in stereoscopic 3d 'pop out' at the same place relative to your eyes. So you could be viewing the tv either straight on or say from the far left at an angle to the screen and you'd still see a sword lunging direct center at you. Also, stereoscopic 3d is still pretty viewable to those not wearing the glasses and as I said before, those glasses cost literally pence so it wouldn't be an expense to have enough pairs for everybody. Now I think about it I'll be dead surprised if there isn't at least one game for the revo with stereoscopic 3d in it sometime in the future.

Lack of knowledge about Nights is a gaming sin. Google is your best bud.

Lol for someone who doesn't like the show, you seem to watch it a lot! :p I hate it but it is kinda compulsive viewing sometimes simply because it's so bad! Like quizmania!

Erg, this happened with me too. I can't load the first disk of shenmue 1 and it is SO irritating, I'm dying to go back and play it all again. Such a damn good game.

Yes! NINTENDO IS OMNIPRESENT!

HEHEHEHE It is starting already! If nintendo call the revo anything other than revolution I will eat my big toe (or to be safe, at least have a nibble of it)

You sound like a GCSE history exam paper.

I've seen upto about ep 8 of season 2 and it was good at the start but then started to drift off a bit much like season 1 did. I can't get anymore eps for it because I can't access that unholiest of all things here on the uni halls network. Can't find any direct downloads of it either Very frustrating and very difficult not to go read spoilers because I hear it's all really heating up in the newer episodes. Anyway, hopefully the full season dvd will be out in the states not long after it starts here and i'll just g et that like I did with season 1. Yay!

I for one actually cannot wait for all the pre E3 theories, fakes and conspiracies to start. It was loads of fun last year despite knowing that most of them were fake.

Wow that is a pretty good offer. But until Valve decide to accept debit cards and/or paypal then I won't be able to get it I don't have a credit card and my mam doesn't believe in them. Doh!

Wasn't all this stuff floating around not long after E3 last year but before TGS? Way, wayyy old and nothing post TGS has been added to it.

Anyone got there Leeds or Reading festival tickets yet?

I went in 2003 and the lineup was supreme. There are far too many bland, cookie cutter, british "radio 1" indie groups on this year. Didn't realise Feeder had replaced the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Quite happy about it though, I have a day ticket for the muse day and I'd much rather see Feeder than the YYY's. -
Ahh I am Jealous. Brian Blessed is great. Were they handing out free earplugs though? He does get a bit loud.

I've always wondered this too! And the way grated cheese sandwiches taste infinitely better than sliced cheese sandwiches. Probably something to do with the inscreased surface area I guess.

Well I got my confirmation email through so I don't know whether that means you do have the tickets or not? Yeah, the first year I went to leeds you could get them up until the day. Was caught out last year because they sold out a lot faster than normal. I really wish they'd sort things out and do something to stop the bloody ebay ticket sellers. Couldn't they just make you tell them the names of the people you're wanting the tickets for when you buy them, then you'd have to show some sort of id corresponding with the ticket when going in. Surely the solution is as simple as that and if it is as simple as that then why the hell aren't they doing anything to stop the ticket touts. -

Doh! really? Was that through the same ticket place, seeticket or whatever it is? Were you able to get your cash back and return the tickets? My bank account really can't take a 4 ticket dent to it! -

Got my heavily overpriced day tickets for me and my girlfriend for the Saturday at Reading, pretty much solely for Muse - fucking amazing live. The lineup is a bit lame this year though. There are way too many similar british indie pop/rock bands. About the tickets though, the only thing is that the first time I tried, I got all the way to the message box that says clicking here will result in your card being billed and after that got a page not found message. No email confirmation made me think it hadn't worked so I tried again and was successful but still no email... Now I'm scared that I've booked four tickets instead of two :s -
Haha thanks to Flunx and smalltac (though shame you had to make a new profile to be able to say something) and whoever else it was that wasn't immedietly hating me for daring to question the word of BigTac. I'll leave it alone for now but I guess I was just trying to show people how easy it is to both fool people and be fooled yourself. A lot of the techniques BigTac uses, knowingly or unknowingly are methods that are being used everywhere by people, the media, our gorvernment, to fool us. It does make you see life a little differently if you can notice certain signs. But, I think most people must be happy remaining like the majority of the population. The ones that rapidly believe 95% of everything fed into us as 'fact' every single day without daring to look at things logically and question things themselves. Peacefully ignorant.
