some retards attempt a video games programme
BGS replied to dabookerman's topic in General Chit Chat
I think i'm addicted to this show actually. I keep watching the introduction again and again and again because it's so hilarious for all the wrong reasons. And the bit at the end. "What's this?! a Playstation 2 joypad? And look! A megaman game! What does it all mean?!?!?!?! Find out next time on GAMELIFE" haha that cracks me up. I also love the way the chubby one mumbles his way through a review and constantly looks absolutely shit scared of the camera. -
I get what you're saying about gameplay being more important and graphics not really being that impressive but have either of you played FarCry on a decent spec PC? Now there's some graphics that'll make you say WOW!

Ring them up and tell them about it. You never know, they might say to you that you might as well keep it. If they did then you'd feel much better about yourself and the free game.

Hey guys, I've recently ventured into the realms of a dual monitor setup. Absolutely loving it, it's making so many things a lot less hassle. Anyway, just wondered if you know of any decent software that helps you manage the dualness. Windows by itself isn't ideal. I'm currently using a program called ultramon which is great but after 30 days it wants me to fork out forty dollars for it. Wouldn't mind so much but I'm not gonna find a use for half its features. Yes I know I could just find a *cough* crack *cough* but I'm not into cheating people outta cash. Just wondered if any of you knew of any alternatives from personal experience? Ta!

It's a fantastic idea and everything but when I think about it logically, I doubt it's going to happen. The system couldn't "just" be a portable gamecube. It'd have to be quite a bit better than the GC in some way. whether it's in additional innovative features or in sheer power. Why? Well, if it really was "just" a portable GC and could play the entire GC back catalogue then it's really not feasible from a business viewpoint. It's known that "the big three" lose money on the consoles they sell (and if they ever have made much money then it would be very minimal), they get their cash primarily from selling games. If a portable GC came out then sure, everyone would buy one, but, most of those people would already have an entire collection of GC games. They wouldn't be in a huge rush to go out buying GC games and even if they were, it's likely by the time a supposed portableGC came out, that GC games could be picked up fairly cheaply. Developers and publishers are also unlikely to support the format. Sure, if this gen were still going, they'd be more inclined to make a GC port of games only released on XBox/PS2, but, we're entering the next generation of consoles now. It'd be extremely hard to make GC ports of Xbox360/PS3 games and even if they could they'd be way, way inferior. It's also unlikely that they'd make games purely designed for the so called 'portableGC.' With the cube already having a lifespan of great games to choose from it's unlikely the money will be put in place by anyone other than Nintendo to make new games for what is effectively a 5 year old+ system. I just don't think it's feasible seen as though it's highly likely that Nintendo will lose money on every 'PortableGC' and it's also unlikely that they'll make much money on games because of the GC's already established library of games. And don't think third parties will go near the thing with new games. And this is without mentioning that half the features in GC games wouldn't work. Unless Nintendo have planned it in secret all along, it'd be pretty impossible to get any kind of multiplayer modes working. So although it would be a dream come true for many of us, It'd have to be way more then a Portable GC to see the light of day. Either that or the next gameboy will be as powerful as a Gamecube, it just won't be compatible with GC disks and will see a lot of GC ports with wifi multiplayer features That, although not great news for us, is far more viable from Nintendo's view.

Ooh that cover looks a lot more like it. Will definitely give this a chance whenever it comes out.

That's pretty wrong. Try visiting gmail.co.uk or gmail.net. Google have tried and failed before at getting both those domains.

Yeah, I did that too once. Was about 11 notes away from collecting absolutely everything (click clock woods notes were a bitch) and deleted my save file. Still went back and did it all again though ^_^

Any of you thought of the other possibility? That you can download demos for ds games on the revo which then transfers them over to the ds? It probably is a fake but I think that would explain why the new mario bros shot is there.
-
BK is a great game. Far superior to Mario64 in my opinion. It's one of the very few platformers that I've actually wanted to collect every single item in the game. (click clock woods is an absolute bitch for getting all the notes) I love the mysteries that were put into the game (the ice key for example) The gameshow bit at the end was also absolute genius. My favourite level is probably treasure trove cove. BK is just such a great game, there's so many features and innovations crammed into it that take it way beyond Mario 64. I love it! Kinda wanting to play it now too..

Lol... Jet Set Willy is one of the most overrated games of all time and i'm not just comparing it to modern games. It was rubbish compared to almost any other game out at the time.
-
Yeah, that's the one. Thanks a lot. I think i'll give it a re run as soon as I get my gamecube back from a friend.

Nintendo Power: Keep your eye on Reggie, February 9th

DICETON!!!! -
I got to the level.. Ahh I can't even remember now. I think it was some guy who was pretty much running his own town or something with propaganda and blah? Not too far in to the game I expect. Got pretty bored there though and haven't been back to it since. Do intend to sometime though.
-
I wouldn't bother really now. Still buy the game if you've got a couple of friends who wanna play, it's great in normal multiplayer but I wouldn't bother for the online side of things. If you have a pc then wait for PSU
-
Sorry but even though it's fake, it's really old news anyway.
-
It's a load of rubbish mate. Zoonami are being extremely tight lipped about all their projects in progress. There's no way some random German member of the games press will have gotten anything yet. did "guts and glory" not give it away? Who in their right mind (besides rockstar or some tiny press attention seeking developer) would call their game 'guts and glory' Totally fake.

Yeah, I think the banker actually does exist which makes the show that little bit cooler. Wish we could hear him though. And yeah, deal or no deal is the best thing around at the moment! Even if it's just for some Edmonds Action really, it's good to see his bearded face on tv again. On countdown - what's the tache master like? I've only seen one show since he took over and wasn't too impressed by him, does he get better?

No snow in hull Not even a bit of frost... :'(

Yeah, yeah I know exactly what you're on about. It's a right sorry state of affairs :\ If you wanna talk about it then feel free to add me to msn ([email protected]) or send me a pm.

Hey everyone, just wanted to say thanks for the input. I was thinking about making this second show more comedic but as you've all pointed out, there's a thin line between getting it right and drastically wrong. I think i'll give it a go just for one show anyway and see how it turns out. Thanks again.

Hi all, Just wondered what people would want from a TV show about games. So many gaming shows have been created and canned in an instant. We all fondly remember GamesMaster but do you think a GamesMaster style show would actually work now-a-days? Just asking as I'm currently making a gaming show for BBCi Hull. Hardly anybody can receive BBCi Hull I know, but I'm hoping if it's good enough it might lead to bigger things... The first episode is now finished, it's kinda good I think but doesn't really do anything new - think of the cybernet format and you're pretty much there. Now I've had the experience of making one fairly basic episode, I'm hoping to be a bit more experimental with the second. I've got a whole bunch of ideas myself but I just thought I'd ask what people want from a games show (i.e. - lots of humour? a more serious tone? mostly reviews? mostly news? people competing at games a la GamesMasters? etc...) Just to be clear, I'm not asking for any specific feature ideas or anything like that, I've got plenty of those myself. Just in general, what would you want from a show? Thanks.

Just noticed this pretty interesting article over at 1up where developers theorise about revolution game ideas. Some talk about specific current games and how they could be better on Revolution and others discuss the possibilities of the games ideas that featured in the revo trailer shown at TGS. Clicky click here to see.

Depends what you mean by 'which is best'. On their games? Mario wins obviously. As characters? Sonic wins, obviously.

Extensive new MTV Myamoto video interview with Mario revolution hint!
BGS replied to nicolasmasset's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, don't worry 56k crew, there's nothing new been revealed at all. The 'Mario Revolution Hint' in the topid headline is maybe a bit misleading as all he really says is that they're experimenting with controlling mario by moving the controller.
