Yeah, it's definitely a mistake. One of the mods in the NOM forums even said so. It's getting crazy how many (quite major) fuck ups this (official!?) magazine has had in such a relatively small timeframe. From the whole resi exclusive thing to the Wii's base being a power unit and now to this. The whole internet game community is really seeing this magazine in a bad, bad light and in turn, probably Nintendo UK seen as though it's the official magazine. And yeah, as Nintendork said, they really should have people proof reading shit like this, especially on such key issues.

I hate those lowest individual bid auctions, think they're a total scam really the price they usually charge per entry. Great way to get the word about the Wii around though, good on Nintendo for no doubt supplying them with Wii's for the competition.

Often, if a magazine is in a card case or a plastic cover when usually it isn't, it quite often means it's a poor issue with no real new gaming information. That's why I skipped this weeks edge despite the big Wii logo on the front. But yeah, this would be a great idea. I know 4/5 quid doesn't sound a huge amount but with the range of magazine I want to buy sometimes, it really adds up fast.

I call ONM messing up again and getting their facts wrong. A big announcement like that is unlikely to be tucked away innocently like that. Also, the article you're linking to mentions that they actually got half their facts wrong because they say 720i is your normal tv resolution - it's not and it doesn't even exist. They screwed up before and I reckon they've just screwed up again. Doesn't make sense for Nintendo to keep something like this so secret.

Hey guys, I've got a couple of questions about vista. Sure it's been asked before but had a search and couldn't find anything. Firstly, can someone recommend me a program that will let me install vista while still keep my xp installation safe and untouched and able to be got at at any time. Secondly and what I really want to know is... Well, I've got a 64bit ready processor. I'm running 32bit version of XP but I think Vista is a 64bit operating system? or something... (I don't fully understand all this so please bear with me!) Now, say I install half life, which I think had a 64bit compatibility option (?) what are the main differences I'll see? I've got an -okay- graphics card but it certainly doesn't pump out a smooth frame rate on max graphics settings. Would this improve if I ran the 64 bit version? Also, with media player, what are the differences there between the 32 and 64bit options? Thanks for any help!

Don't like it. What's happened to Microsoft recently? I stopped using IE & Media Player a while ago (changing to Firefox and iTunes) but the old versions of both were much better than these recent shitty updates.

No offence but can you put the episode summary's in spoiler tags next time? I know the thread is labelled spoilers but as noone's really mentioned any spoilers before it seems the spoiler warning is more for the people who are waiting for it to be shown over here.

THE WII HAS A BUILT IN TOOTHPICK!

Notice though that it says 'Promotion' at the top left. Meaning it's probably an advertorial. Meaning it's basically an ad disguised as an article, written and presented in the style of the rest of the magazine which nintendo have wrote and paid for. Seen as though most people never notice the difference (and aren't meant to) between an advertorial and the rest of a mag, it's definitely a good thing for ninty and the Wii.

I'm sure a lot of calculators have a function which will give you a remainder instead of the answer as a decimal but it depends what calculator you're using there. In an exam it's probably easiest to just work it out yourself. I find the easiest way to divide is to do it as a multiplication sum, multiplying the base number until I get near the number I want to convert. ie.. If I want to find out what 82/12 is then my mind process goes 12 * 5 = 60 Hmmm, another 12 can fit in there 12 * 6 = 72 Since another 12 on top of that would be 84 then the answer must be 6 remainder something. 82 - 72 = 10. The answer is 6 remainder 10 Basically, it's just knowing your times tables. If you find it tough sometimes then do like I did and go for the easiest numbers to multiply first, like 5 or 10 and just add and subtract after that.

Okay. The way I'd convert smallish binary numbers into hexadecimal or base 12 or whatever is to first convert it into base 10 (our numbers) (I'm guessing you know how to do this but if you don't then just reply and ask) So 01010010 in base ten, or our normal numbering system is 82. Now if you're wanting to convert to duodecimal (base 12) then divide this number by 12. 82 / 12 = 6 r10 So 12 goes into 82 6 times exactly. So the first digit would be a 6. Now, for the second digit. Because we have no single digit numbers for anything higher than 9, when using bases higher than 10, anything higher than 9 is represented by a letter. You have a remainder of 10 and as this is one above 9 it is represented by the letter A. So your binary number converted into duodecimal is 6A

Got dragged along last night to see Marie Antoinette. Didn't want to go see it but was politely asked and I thought there might be a possibility of seeing Kirsten Dunst all sexed up and seductive. Which would have been a plus, instead you see her naked from behind once in a non sexual situation and that's it. The film? It was like a shit ITV1 period drama minus the drama. Any possible drama there was sidelined because of how they were all 'supposed' to act around each other. I thought there was a chance it would all come to a head with the people breaking their social boundaries but there was nothing of the sort. Ended quite abruptly and very unsatisfying. Wouldn't bother with it.

Sorry, I don't mean lately, just in general. They're annoying and spamlike and should be locked.

HELLO THERE but no offence, I'm sick of all these self-gratifying "I AM BACK AFTER BEING GONE SO LONG" threads.

Hey, I'm about your age too (20) and I suffer from the exact same thing. I don't feel I have any friends at all. I speak to some people online sometimes but in real life, absolutely nothing. I find it hard to talk to people, find it hard to think of anything interesting to say and in the end don't say very much at all which makes people think I'm being anti-social. I'd love to be social. A warning about alcohol though and using it to make yourself more social... I've had this problem quite a few times before but I'll explain it as it is currently. I'm at uni now with flatmates, I wouldn't consider any of them friends at all but they'll politely invite me along out with them and I'll go. I'll hardly say a word though so I don't really get to know any of them better. This will annoy me so much when I'm out that I drink, hoping the drink will liven me up a bit. After a while, there'll be no effect so I'll drink some more. and more, and more. Until the effect of the alcohol all hits me at once and I practically blank out and don't remember a thing about the night. So any conversations and such i've had with my flatmates are pointless and in the making-friends sense, worthless. Do this enough and you'll feel even worse about yourself, trust me. Often I get people telling me that I'm absolutely hilarious. When drunk. I ask them if it's because i'm being a drunken fool and they say no, its just the things i say are very very funny. Then you start thinking, why can I not be funny, amusing or so amazingly confident in real life when i'm sober. Is there something wrong with me? When you hear the same thing over and over again from completely different people (i love you when you're drunk, you're hilarious!) that gets you down even more. So yeah, just watch you don't fall into the trap of getting too drunk because you hate that you're being so "anti-social" and remember that drink can take a while to take an effect. About meeting women or just friends really - try joining some local clubs about your interests. Okay, it'll be tough to go there the first time but at least you'll have an obvious common interest to initially start a conversation. You find anything else out then message me with tips! I sure could use them too. EDIT: sorry about the fucking essay!
