Haha, I was just waiting for you to chirp in with your bragging! grrr!! Shoulda gone to gamestation too really but with it being so small I didn't think they'd have one... You from Manc too? When I preordered the guy said it was pretty likely that they'd have one. Even last week he said they'd probably do one. Then some bloke rang up today and crushed the midnight launch excitement I'll be there at 9am as soon as they open anyway, balls to the first ten minutes of my lecture. Haha maybe but I still won't get a decent session in. She'd much rather watch the OC boxsets or something like that. I'd also (probably) have to do lots of pretend losing as she gets extremely grumpy if she's losing at games. Many a monopoly and scrabble board have been upturned because she's been losing... And anyway, what I really wanna be digging into is Twilight Princess and there's no chance she'll sit and watch me play that for more than two minutes without being in an uber grump! Haha, I'm making her sound like a psycho but she's great really. I'll just have to be extra patient and wait till Monday I guess!

It's about bloody time. I've never understood why smoking is permitted in places like restaurants but it's great that there's going to be a ban on all public places. I hate going to a club with a jacket on and coming back with it smelling of smoke. It's not so bad with clothes because they're straight in the wash anyway but you generally don't wash jackets as often.

Wooo HMV finally confirmed that I'll be getting a Wii at launch! Only problem is that they're not having a midnight launch like I thought they were Got 2 hours of lectures at nine on Friday then 2 more at 1 and then my girlfriend arrives for the weekend at 3. She said she doesn't mind if I just play Wii but I know she'll be in a grump if I do even a little bit. It pretty much means I'll only have 1 and a half hours of solid Wii time before Monday - Nooooo! Preordered: Twilight Princess, Wii:Play, extra nunchuck and a classic controller. I think that'll do fine for now

I'm pretty impressed by the quality of this platformer. Some sort of new element to it has been added each day. Let's hope they keep it up!

Nah, they don't register as files unless your camera uses a Hard Drive instead of MiniDV. As others have said you'll need a firewire cable (as long as your camera supports it - it should do) or alternatively, a USB 2 cable. If you've not got a firewire port on your comp then you need to get a firewire card. You will need some sort of program to 'capture' the footage from your cam, onto the computer. I'm pretty sure things like windows movie maker will do this. As said before though depending what methods you get programs by, get Adobe Premiere or even better get Adobe Premiere Pro. All you need to do with that is shove your camera to play mode, plug in the firewire cable at both sides, goto File then Capture in the Premiere menu and find the bits of footage you want to transfer. Line them up to be played and just click record on adobe. Sometimes you might need to go into your cameras menu and select some kind of send through firewire or send through DV-out option before you'll see anything on your computer screen. Not all cams do it automagically.

Aww damnit no way! I pre-ordered from the big HMV on Market Street because as they're outside, a much bigger store than gamestation and not in the Arndale, I thought it'd be more likely that they'd do a midnight launch. I heard shops have to pay quite a bit if they want to do a midnight opening in the Arndale. Anyway HMV keep promising me that they'll "probably" do a midnight launch but can't say for sure yet so I'll no doubt see you in the general area! haha.

Jesus, you people. Let's just get the launch over with before we start labelling it a mess already.

Gah will you please give it a rest. The money you paid for a preorder is so it will guarantee you being one of the first to get a wii. Okay, so it's possible you won't get it on day one but there won't be any wii's on sale on the shop floor until you get one. Other retailers have told people that have preordered that they might not get a wii on day one as well. Your £30 TOWARDS PAYMENT for the Wii is so you're one of the first. It's NOT so you can question them constantly about where you are in the queue, if you'll get one at launch, how much stock they have allocated. Your £30 is not going down at all, you will get a freaking wii. I can understand your frustration (I've also preordered with HMV) but as many have pointed out, HMV is not a games specialist. The majority of people will probably goto Game and the like for their Wii preorders so it's likely that they'll have a better preordering system. Just deal with it and stop being so damn impatient. You'll be one of the first to get your Wii even if it doesn't arrive on launch day. If you preordered early then it's likely you'll get it day one. HMV will telephone all preorders a few days before launch to confirm. As for a midnight launch, I asked my local branch (the main one in the center of manchester) and they say it's likely that they'll do one but can't say for sure yet. They've had around 150 wii preorders so far so it's likely that your store will definitely have a midnight launch even if it's not the 'official' one.

I was told the exact same thing as you darthbane when I asked instore. Found it a little annoying but I'm feeling quite comfortable that I'll get one at launch, I did pay for my preorder way back in the middle of September. *fingers crossed*

Wow, pretty good episode. Didn't have the "jump the shark" moment that will "change the way we see lost forever" which I was hoping for but I hear that's now to come mid season. Great episode though, I was on edge most of the way through.

I went into HMV today asking if I'll be getting a Wii at launch. They said they couldn't tell me but they'd only had about 100 pre orders and they reckon they should get that amount in at least so WOO for me. Although, does only 100 preorders = no possibility of a midnight launch? This is the main HMV in Manchester city center.

Bollocks, if it is being held on the 18th of November there is NO chance I can get there. It's my girlfriend's cousin's wedding on that day -_- and the day after it's our anniversary so if I'm not around for either my balls will quite literally be baked in a pie. Actually, if that email is legit, I really hope I don't get in because that would just be torture.

Do I really want to watch all those or are they a bit spoilerish? I've already watched the first US and the first CTV but i don't think any of the others.

Anyone know how HMV's preordering number system works? I ordered pretty early but the 'order no' they've given me is quite a large one (in the 100,000) so I'm pretty sure that's not how far I am in the queue!..
