An interesting decision, only time will tell if it's right or wrong for them. I don't think their State of Plays have taken off in the way they'd hoped so if that's the substitute for an E3 presence it's pretty disappointing.

Not sure what Game Freak/TPC should be more embarrassed about... the title "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX" or the game's visuals. In 2019. Probably the latter. How are indie studios of 3 or 4 people making 10x better looking and sounding games than the publisher of one of the biggest IPs in the world?

I don't play the PS4 much either but 4 hours vs 40 hours on the equivalent controllers the Switch Pro or Xbox is a pretty stark difference.
-
I just hate the shape of it, doesn't feel comfortable at all to me, unlike the Xbox/Switch which feel amazing in hand, but I guess they'll stick with it . I wonder if the pointless touchpad and light bar made the battery life so insanely short too.
-
Not too fussed about raytracing or haptic triggers, as long as they improve the Fisher Price Dual Shock 4, the build, the comfort, a battery life like the Switch Pro (40 hours instead of 4), I'm happy. It was like the heavens opened on the occasions when I went from the DS4 to a Switch Pro.

Damn looks like they've fixed it now. On another note this is pretty funny...

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Ronnie replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Glad you're enjoying. A little tip, I would personally suggest not uncovering the full map early on. Spread out exploring the whole map to the length of your playtime, it'll keep the game so much more fresh and exciting. Treat it as one big adventure. As for the breakable weapons, I actually think it's a genius system and one of the best things about the game. Forces you to keep experimenting and ups the survival aspect, which is a big part (at least at the beginning). -
As expected with a Switch exclusive, beautiful box art. I've only played one AC game, New Leaf on 3DS and put 20-30 minutes in it every day for a year. Think I might have missed about two days. Can't wait for this.

Interesting, I don't think I've ever seen a publisher request no score. I suppose if any "game" doesn't need one, it's this.

In no particular order, my top favourite games this decade: Animal Crossing New Leaf - My first AC, I switched it on every single day for a year. What a treat. Darkest Dungeon - Incredible atmosphere. Gameplay loop is tons of fun. Hollow Knight - The best Metroidvania ever made. By far. Polished to perfection. Breath of the Wild - Masterpiece. It was all anyone talked about for months, and for good reason. Made me feel like a kid again being presented with the original LOZ map. Super Mario 3D World - Yep, I said it. Prettier, more cohesive visuals than Odyssey, and I prefer it's more challenging brand of platforming. Inside - I played this in one sitting and it was glorious. God of War - I thought it lost it's way a bit towards the end but still an incredible achievement. Red Dead Redemption 2 - Best openworld I've ever experienced, by far. Amazing voice acting. STUNNING visuals. Shovel Knight - A modern remake of the best 8 and 16 bit action platformers. Great visuals, music and presentation. Tearaway Unfolded - Tons of charm, a really memorable adventure game for me. Honourable mentions to: Celeste, Mass Effect 3, Zelda A Link Between Worlds, Mario Odyssey

I’ll be using one of those digital vouchers Nintendo offered. Two for £90 or whatever it was. If ever there was a game made for digital this is it I think

January/February Directs tend to have at least a couple of big first party reveals, so fingers crossed it should be a good one. Prediction wise I'll say they'll show a teaser trailer for Odyssey 2, with lots more info at E3, releases at the end of the year. Three years after the original I don't think it's unrealistic. I'd also love to see an update on BOTW2. They'll go big on Animal Crossing too, Japan already has tv ads for it and the game is still three months away () (Also a polite request/reminder, any leaks please put in spoiler tags)

Motion controls are entirely optional. None of the moons require it.

Some fantastic games these past ten years. And Mario Kart Tour.

Yet another huge Switch eShop sale! Feels like there's one every month

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (December 20th 2019)
Ronnie replied to Julius's topic in General Chit Chat
I watched The Last Jedi again yesterday, it's such a good film. I really don't understand the hate, it's bizarre. I'll be disappointed if IX undoes things from it. I've mostly read very positive impressions, but it sounds like it's very very busy and action packed, with tons going on. Having just watched the more laid back, simpler story-telling of the original trilogy, I'm not sure how I feel about this. It feels a bit like Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness where it was just setpiece after setpiece by the end. -
I applaud Geoff's work but the whole thing is just too long. I was fast forwarding through most of it. For Microsoft to choose this show to reveal their new console is pretty incredible though. As for the other reveals, nothing mind-blowing but then it doesn't need to be. We get reveals from Directs, Playstation Directs and Inside Xbox + E3 and other trade shows. This is just another thing to get excited for and to hear about some new games. Fine by me. I feel like they could fine tune the actual award bit though, maybe speed it up a bit so they can actually give more categories time to shine.

Chapter 6 of the Mandalorian, another great episode. Plenty of meat on the bone too for those that found last week's a bit shallow. I'll say it again, I love how each episode is a self-contained story. That said I think it might be time to return to the central plot of the season next week, make it a two parter type thing maybe. It's interesting trying to figure this show out and how it's structured. Also, I continue to be amazed how good the Razor Crest looks. One shot towards the end in particular when it was landing looked incredible. The show's use of practical models is one of the best things about it, so refreshing in a world (and prequels) full of CG.

Finally, a nice PS4 box art after the fugly generic ones of Detroit, Death Stranding, Spider Man, Days Gone... about time.
-
That seems more of a Nintendo Direct type announcement I think
-
Not surprising, they've been there for years now, but hopefully means a reveal or two

There's worthwhile sales on the eShop pretty much constantly.

The eShop seems to constantly have sales on, I guess for reasons like that
