Got a capture card last week (maybe even the week before) and have finally got it working. Did this for my ass man @Ashley :

They really need a conference, not only is a conference more fun and exciting (not exactly important in the long run, but very important for getting people hyped about Nintendo games) but it also shows them to a bigger audience. I really think the Nintendo Direct last year was terrible - not because of the games delivered, there were some quality titles in there, but the hype around it. Microsoft and Sony had these big presentations, flashy lights, we had Iwata infront of a wall speaking, in what was weirdly out of character, without much passion/emotion/his usual quirkyness. It actually felt like Nintendo had to quickly produce a video on a shoe-string budget or something.

I would keep the camera for sure, I've had a lot of fun in the few apps/games that use it. And whilst I don't use the Sensor Bar, I know a lot of people that play Wii games on the GamePad so I think that should be kept in too. Despite this, the dead space on the top (and bottom) could still be greatly reduced. Other than that I don't really mind, but good lord, GIVE US PROPER SHOULDER BUTTONS. A mixture of the 360 and GameCube ones, the sensitivity of the 360 ones for racing games and such, but with that satisfying click the GameCube ones had. I also think the normal L and R buttons should be more like the Z button on the GameCube, they're so big and gross on the GamePad. And whilst the shiny finish looks nice initially, I think it'd make more sense (and less thumb prints) to have a matt finish, at least where the buttons and analogue sticks are.

Oh man, I was interested already, but after seeing the Direct, I really can't wait. It was one of the best Directs in a long time just for the humour, and the craziness on show just takes me back to the glory days of DS. I haven't seen something this weird and inventive from Nintendo for a long time so I'm very excited. Reminds me of how impressed I was the first time I picked up Wario Ware!

Got it! And 3000 seems surprisingly cheap considering the price of a lot of things on there! EDIT: I got it in such a hurry I didn't pay much attention but wow - A double CD with 77 tracks! EDIT 2: I'm continuing with my downloaded games surveys. For Rabbids land I decided to be honest, clicked on 'other' for all the options as to why I bought it and when it gave me the text box to explain why I bought it: "I got home drunk and must have thought it was a good idea at the time. When I woke up and saw this on my home-screen the next day I realised the grave mistake I'd made. Rabbids games aren't the best..." Still, it could have been worse. Could have been Funky Barn or something.

I wasn't worried about the release until yesterday, now I just really want confirmation that it's still out this year. I can't help but think this whole direct is very fishy indeed

I think I would die in my chair if it got pushed to 2015 :p Heck, EVERY character can have Waluigi hands if it means we get it this year!!

Thanks for the tips! I'll start doing pull ups for sure, I'm fairly tall and my door has a 'lip' on it, so I could do them on there. As for the cheapo weights, I'll get something sorted. I'm sure there's plenty of heavy things around the house I could lift up and down for a while :P Heck, Banjo is a heavy lump, and he loves it when I pick him up and move him around the house (though I couldn't really use him as a weight, that'd feel wrong ahahaha) And my push ups are dependent on the day I think. They actually seem easier when I've been fairly active the day before. Like yestersay, I did a 12 hour shift, changing store ends around too which meant lifting out big shelves and putting them in different places - Today has felt a lot easier doing press ups than after my 3 days off work! I've just gotta keep active I guess. And yeah, I've definitely gained weight, even if it's the good kind. Which is a shame really, as I'm always attracted to skinny, toned guys so was hoping I could go for the same look but if anything, this just seems to be making me stockier :p If I can look like G-Dragon I'll be happy:

Just because Sonic Transformed was a launch game, doesn't excuse the ridiculous amount of bugs in multiplayer. There's ambition, and then there is just helplessly punching above your weight. But then, that's what SEGA is known for. Reading through that history of Sonic book, pretty much every Sonic game seemed to have these ambitious ideas that were rushed for deadlines and ultimately ended up mediocre. I can see your point, they did make the effort, but when it's such a half-baked result, you have to wonder whether they should have really given it the green light. As I said, it was so poor at times it really put me off the game, and I know I'm not the only one. Launch title or not, there should still be some quality control, though I guess Sonic isn't exactly known for that nowadays, so why change a long-lasting tradition? :p

I loved Sonic Transformed single player, but anyone wanting Mario Kart to follow its footsteps in mutliplayer are insane. It was so glitchy in multiplayer, the framerate was all over the place and the GamePad screen on that game was like a 188p YouTube video. It's ashame Mario Kart doesn't offer more than 2 people to go online but honestly, if it means it's not like Sonic Transformed, I'm fined with that. Playing a lot of multiplayer on Transformed actually really put me off the game, which is sad because it can be great. It just had that typical Sonic smear of shit over it, sadly.

At least it's not Waluigi's hand *shudders*

The 3DS still feels new to me, and unlike the DS in its later years, doesn't feel as though it needs an upgrade (the graphics on DS and lack of proper eShop meant it was definitely time for the 3DS to step in) Nintendo have also finally turned things around for it, it would feel like a waste, after all that effort to get the 3DS into peoples pockets, to release a new handheld so soon. I'd also guess that 2016 is the earliest we'll see a new handheld. That's what I'd hope for anyway - We've only just had Pokémon! The DS had like... 3 main installments, right?
-
Thanks a lot for that! Will definitely do it in the way that he does, I was thinking of changing things up lately anyway, though I might skip the hopper because I've always bad dodgy wrists and think that'd be a bit too much pressure on them! Will let you know how I get on! Hopefully I can become a true aligator

I've been doing my press ups and sit ups for about 2 months now. I feel better, my chest and my stomach are harder and I have slightly more shape, though mainly just my arms, but I think I'm doing something wrong. I'm still doing the minimum of 30 of each every morning and night but man, the sit ups get a bit easier but the press ups, I swear they get harder each time. I don't know what it is man but I'd have thought by this point it would start to get a little easier. Not to mention that I click and crack whenever I move. Maybe my body is just so decrepit and useless that I'm too late to save myself :p I think maybe I should start weight lifting as well. Where would I buy them from? I'm guessing not online because parcels go by weight :p

I always preferred the chunky, low poly version of AC characters :P She does look nice and bright though

I can't wait to watch this but with the daily Miiverse posts I fear we've seen to much of this already :/ I'm worried it's gonna be Brawl all over again and I'll have spoiled most of the surprises before I get the game. Of course, I could just not watch, but c'mon, that would mean having some self control. With a whole dedicated Nintendo Direct I expect them to show us what the online is like, a new character (maybe two?!) and possibly a release date! But yeah, still seems weird that it's not a Mario Kart Direct instead :p Unless they still do an MK one even closer to release, like a few weeks before-hand or something.
-
I haven't been keeping up with this much since the E3 trailer but I just watched the latest one, along with the amazing GIFS of Moo Moo Meadows in this thread, and I'm blown away. That Rainbow Road, that awesome music. This is the first time since Mario Kart DS that I've been this excited for an MK title two months before release - and back then I had the excuse of being a 15 year old Nintendo fanboy with no friends :p

It's all part of their unprecedented partnership

Wii U NEW Software Drought - What will you be playing?
Josh64 replied to welsh_gamer's topic in Nintendo Gaming
What actually happened with Scribblenauts? They kept changing, delaying and then not saying anything about releases of those two games (I think the first Wii U Scribble is finally out now?) so I stopped caring after a while. -
I've purposely not read any of this thread because I've just got onto Season 2 (on ep 3 now) after starting a few weeks ago and maaaan... just like Breaking Bad, I can't believe I waited this long! But it's good in a way, I'm always desparate to watch the next episode and now I can :p The intro to Series 2 episode 2 (possibly 3 I can't remember) has to be one of the most powerful scenes I've seen in a tv show! It's not often I get chills down my spine but man, this really got me:

It shouldn't be an issue now anyway. I swear it's mainly late teens and 20-somethings playing Nintendo games now whilst all the 8 -15 year olds are playing COD and FIFA :p At least in my experience.

Wii U NEW Software Drought - What will you be playing?
Josh64 replied to welsh_gamer's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Oops, forgot I bought this a few weeks back! Add it to the list! And @Grazza - I think the same about my 360, I only bought GTA for it last year, that's it - ONE GAME. There's also no excuse, 'cause there's technically shit loads of games I could get on 360. I can't keep up with it now though, but it helped me through the dark days of Wii (the last few years where we had like... Beat the Beat and The Last Story and then NOTHING) -
Wii U NEW Software Drought - What will you be playing?
Josh64 replied to welsh_gamer's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm not sure why, perhaps I was making up for all the GameCube games I couldn't afford when I was a teen, but I went on a mad Wii U spending spree last year, picking up pretty much every big release. I love playing games too but I'm lazier than I used to be and tend to play just an hour-ish a night before watching tv/reddit or picking apples and fishing in Animal Crossing (AC doesn't count as a game and more a way of life) - So I have LOADS of catching up to do. Games to finish: Nintendo Land (Though it's basically done, just getting the medals and shit so doesn't really count) Lego City Undercover - Really liked it but didn't play much at all so it's pretty much a new title Pikmin 3 - Played about halfway through and really enjoyed but then got disturbed by and left because of... The Wonderful 101 - One of my favourite titles on the system but alas, I got to about Level (zone? World?) 4 before being distrupted by.... RAYMAN LEGENDS - Beautiful graphics and music but I was getting tired of 2D platformers at the time and got to about World 3 because of... New super Luigi U! - Got to about World 5, I despised NSMBU but the difficulty and shorter levels made this one a lot more fun Wind Waker HD - My favourite Zelda title by far, and looks incredible in HD. I was just about to get to underwater Hyrule when I thought I'd take a quick break (as in, never go back to) because of the release of... SONIC LOST WORLD - I had left it at the Ice World but with this weeks Zelda DLC I've gone back to it and I think I'm just a few levels from the end! I'd hope so judging by the difficulty anyway :p Super Mario 3D World - Doesn't really count 'cause I played the shit out of this, I just need to get a few remaining green stars and move onto CHAMPIONS ROAD Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze- Same as Sonic, currently playing. I'm on the World 6 boss but am trying to get all the puzzle pieces before I bang him in. RUNNER 2 - FUTURE LEGEND OF RHYTHM ALIEN - I loved it but the added controls (as oppose to the first runner) confused me a bit and the difficulty seemed higher (maybe I'm just not as good as I used to be :P) so I left it. Knowing that @D_prOdigy started playing makes me wanna thrash his high scores though. That and I'm only on like World 3 so I really need to discover more. ZOMBI U - got it like a DAY after Donkey Kong. Was REALLY fun, played with my friend, but thought I'd leave it until I got Donkey Kong out the way for fears of only getting about half way through again like with everything else :P Games I have but haven't started: ASS CREED 3 ASS CREED BLACK FLAG LEGO MARVEL EARTHBOUND (I only played an hour or so, so should just start again. Always wanted to play it but alas, when it finally came I was all cba) Games that I technically need to finish but cba: New Super Mario Bros U (makes me sick, ugh) NES Remix (super fun to start with, lost it's appeal fairly quickly though)
