IGN RUMOR - Nintendo may show new hardware at E3
Josh64 replied to canand's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I hope they don't! I'm not ready for a new handheld I feel as though the 3DS has just started and still has so much untapped potential! -
I have to agree, the game looks amazing, as does the footage in the latest direct but good lord, that was awful! The voice over was tragic - One half was like a really bad Jeremy Clarkson impression (who I hate in the first place) and the other was like a 'How It's Made' clip. The music part of the direct was amazing though. One of those moments you'd only get with Nintendo. I just really hope this is not the style of Direct they go for with E3. (Though I really liked the Fils-atron video and Tomodachi Direct :p)

This is really sad I loved that guy! And as much as I can hate the Mario movie now, I loved it when I was little! But of course, Who Framed Roger Rabbit is how I truly fell in love with him. That film man, my mom actually hates it now because I used to watch it so much when I was little.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!
Josh64 replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
I love all their previous music and dancing but this is by far their best one yet in terms of everything - The awesome song, the amazing video and... guest starring AKB48! Such a summer song! -
I'm on such a high from seeing Kyary Pamyu Pamyu live yesterday! It was so energetic and fun, and as much as I loved her when I first started listening a few years ago, I'd never imagined I'd actually get to see her in real life! The music, the dancing, the costumes, oh man. I want to go back already :p And despite the awful transport (especially considering we went when there was a tube strike) I love London. There's so much happening, I'll have to start going more often, though if I do then I'll also have to get much better at understanding trains and the underground, because good lord, I had no idea what was going on - thankfully the friend I was with knew where to go :p But as if seeing Pamyu Pamyu wasn't enough, one of my all-time favourite music artists from the UK, Frankmusik, was there in the audience right by me! I didn't get to speak to him though, I didn't actually realise until after the show :p I kept looking over thinking "man, he looks like Frankmusik" but kept telling myself, what are the chances that he'd be at a J-Pop concert at the same time as me, on the same floor, just a few seats away. Alas, when I got on facebook when I got home he'd uploaded a video of the concert from the EXACT angle I'd seen him. So bam, put on instagram "turns out @Frankmusik was there!" and good lord, he replied, "amazing show, right?!" It feels like I'm dreaming.

@Goron_3 Thanks a lot for the advice and links, I've ordered the age defence for eyes! I'll get round to ordering the others on Friday when I'm paid again! My diet is something I really need to work on and seeing yours only solidifies that. It's not exactly bad it's just thoughtless. Some days I won't eat much at all until mid-day (or anything) and then I eat pasta or a sandwich (and not a healthy one either) or something overkill to make up for the lack of breakfast. I tend to buy dreaded canteen food when I'm at work too which is just battered everything. So yeah, I'm definitely gonna try and improve even if it's just a routine to start with so I'm not eating at weird times. And yeah, I started (light) exercising 2 months ago now. I stick to a bare minimum of 30 push ups and sit ups morning and night which isn't much but even that has made me feel miles better. In-between I've got a few new things to get me going like Kinect, not exactly the gym but it's a good replacement for sitting around on my ass in my free time I think :p Sadly! I got away with it for years and only had to shave once a month at the most (without my facial hair becoming noticable) but something happened when I turned 22, almost like a second puberty, and now I have to shave every few days My skin was bad for a while but I have started using a post shave balm which has helped loads. It used to feel like my skin got super tight after shaving!

Seriously!? I can't believe it! I feel elated! I can't remember the last time I beat you :P and I agree about the no DLC, but because I don't wanna spend any more money :p

I can't help but think the Wii U has already been left for too long. If Nintendo were ever going to save it, it would have been Christmas 2013. Everyone was saying the exact same thing back in December as they are now about Mario Kart - Marketing Blitz, new bundles, multiplayer Mario game and what happened there? A slight increase, sure, but too little too late. If they'd have kept steady momentum from Christmas and then hit us with this Mario Kart, it might be in another position, but again, we've been left with absolutely nothing since Donkey Kong. Sure, we've had a few okay VC releases and the odd indie games, but they should have been blitzing us with HD N64/GC online titles and all sorts to really get the ball rolling. I really hope I'm proved wrong, because I'm actually a huge fan of the Wii U, and have bought so many great games for it, but at this point even I'm starting to feel jaded and unenthusiastic about the console. We need more than one big game every 6 months because again, after Mario Kart, when is the next big hitter? WE DON'T KNOW. Nintendo have left us in the dark, for so long, about everything. It's no wonder that people aren't too keen on getting one from the outside looking in.

Hey guys, so I was curious, what things do you do to make yourself look good? I've started this thread because damn, just lately looking in the mirror I've felt like donning a potato sack (like Resi 4) and running around with a chainsaw. The main thing is my eyes, I'm almost like a panda now because they're so dark underneath. So does anyone know what stuff I could use to make my eyes less dark/deadly? And in general, feel free to share your tips on how you look youthful/good on how you eat, what you do and what you wear!

@Animal 12201 0n Just Dance! Finally! haha, sorry it took so long, I haven't been on the Wii U much this month!
-
No deal for Remix 2? I guess that'll be another game I pass up on :p Good one, Nintendo.
-
I'll be shocked if they don't do a conference this year. They'll just seem even more out of the console race if they don't have their own show whilst Microsoft and Sony do, even if at this point they're in the race with a broken leg anyway.

If this is true then it must have been something introduced in the last week or so - Two weeks ago I was getting stars for stuff I'd downloaded on 3DS in 2012! @Ike - It was iTunes I used, but this morning when I fired it up it did give me the option to choose the album (only like a week late :P)
-
Have you checked the section for downloaded games? Perhaps there's one or two you haven't registered and can get stars from!

I ran out of thanks but fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I got 18 Wheeler back in the day and fucking loved it. Though I paid £20 for the GC version soon after release, am I mad? :p That parking mini-game is freakin' awesome though. Oh man, just thinking about it makes me wanna get on eBay and snap the game up again!! As for me, I finally got a Kinect with Kinect Adventures and Sonic Riders for £32! I'm really liking it so far (especially the Kinect Fun Labs stuff) and the controls and interaction are surprisingly good. Unsurprisingly Sonic Riders is a bit iffy, my on screen character tends to start flickering about after a while but what would a 3D Sonic game be without glitches everywhere? :p And in general its just so full on. In one race you'll be doing literal spin jumps, crouching to charge, tilting, shaking your arm for items - It's a good work out though. But yeah, I fished out Child of Eden again and I loved it anyway but that game is awesome on Kinect! I'm not sure what to get next but will probably invest in Kinect Sports just to get my RARE fix. AND - Good old eBay, got myself a stone-cold GameCube classic: I don't care what people say, I love this game and it's my all-time favourite StarFox title. Though I'd forgotten how hilarious the dinosaur language voice acting is at the start of the game :p "sticka oh crazook a DINOSAUR PLANET sinba sheesh ack GENERAL SCALESSSSSSSSSSSS"
-
Sorry man! I totally forgot about it! I haven't been on my Wii U much the last week. I'm off tomorrow and have no plans though so will post my score then for sure! I also need to see if they have any new DLC!

I really loved this film! I enjoyed the first one but there was just so much going on in this. I don't often enjoy superhero movies that much because I never really feel for the characters and the story-lines are just too absurd for me but I absolutely love this, especially in comparison to the 2000's Spider-man films :p The multiple villains also made it such a good watch, it was refreshing to see so much happening and not just your usual rivalry unfolding over the duration of the entire film. That thing after the credits though, what the hell? I looked to my friend and asked what the hell was going on, she then told me it was a random X-men trailer. Lol ok, a bit misleading to people that don't particularly follow all of the marvel series though.

I was super impressed when I got the booklet out, you dont often get that kind of quality and attention to detail in a retail CD release these days so it's even more impressive on what is technically a free gift! Only slight annoyance was the lack of track listing when putting it on my phone. TRACK 1, TRACK 2, etc.. god damn.

When did it become so normal to use so much technology?
Josh64 replied to Cube's topic in General Chit Chat
It's not bad just checking your phone every now and then, but I'll agree that if you're out with someone and they spend loads of time on their phones it can be annoying. I spend as little time as possible on my phone if I have company, even if it means not responding to a text right away (which I don't think is a bad thing either, but people can get so funny if I take a few hours to respond to a text which is probably a good example of people being too hooked on technology). But I'll agree that I probably use technology too much, which has good and bad effects. Take work for example, right now I hate every aspect of it, so on my breaks I tend to sit by myself and get lost in my phone. This is good in a sense because it takes me out of my shitty situation but in a way, it just makes me even more disconnected from the workplace and the people I work with and in the long run is probably having a much worse effect on me. Like anything, it's all about how much you use it and how often. On a whole, obviously technology is a good thing, I've met some of the best people through the internet (and a lot of cases on this very forum) but it's all about how and when you use it. -
Oh man, that multiplayer in WarioWare was insane fun. I have fond memories of the turtle game. And some of the 4-player minigames they threw in were really fun, I loved running away from the creepy rabbit. But yeah, despite being 'lazy' I still had loads of fun out of it, and as many have said, it was released as a budget game... just like NES Remix. So what if NES Remix is lazy, people like it, it can't really be that much of a burden on Nintendo's staff, it's not like it's a replacement for the next HD Metroid, and it gives us another game to play in this everlasting Wii U drought. They need more games like this. HD remakes, remixes, stuff that is great fun to play but easy to develop, so we have something to play before the big hitters. Heck, Pilotwings on 3DS was 'lazy' but still one of my favourite games on the system. Give me more filthy cheap shit.

Haha, the full rpg thing made me laugh. And @Guy - go eat a hat:
-
Urgh, I keep forgetting to do my pre-order for Mario Kart. I really want the T-shirt and shell so waiting for the perfect moment to blow £60
-
I made a mock-up: lost the screen, the camera and the mic but y'know, it's not like they're often used. Changed the buttons a bit, too: Perfect, I think.
-
I do think there's such a lack of variety now, but I'm guessing it's because they can no longer take such big risks, with longer development times and what feels like (I have no idea, honestly) less development teams? (though I know about Rare obviously, such a big loss in my eyes) In the GameCube era I was constantly surprised, F-Zero with its amazing speed, Starfox Adventures giving a whole new take on the franchise, Metroid Prime, a classic game re-imagined, Wind Waker - Zelda like we'd never seen it and then there were the awesome, crazy surprises: DONKEY KONGA, an AMAZING new franchise called Animal Crossing, bizarre out of the blue releases like Doshin the Giant, Pikmin and Chibi Robo. LUIGI'S MANSION for gods sake! It always felt so exciting, like Nintendo were just bursting with new ideas, new characters and covering so many genres and making new installments in series you knew yet would have never thought of - Jungle Beat was a 2D platformer but you couldn't get much more off the wall than that with its level design and controls. Now they feel very stuck to the same old patterns. If one thing goes well now, they just milk it to death. How many 2D platformers did we have before New Super Mario Bros on DS? Not many. How many now? 2D platformers are as over-saturated on their consoles as FPS games are on 360. We all keep asking for a new Metroid, new Starfox, new F-Zero but honestly... I really can't see it happening now. Nintendo seem to be stuck on Mario/Kirby/Zelda - especially Zelda, it's gone from a main instalment every 4 years or so to pretty much one main game per year across Nintendo platforms. And I know, for some reason 'it wouldn't work', but a home console Pokémon is such a HUGE missed opportunity it's unreal.
