I knew I'd regret not doing this :p ive been too into online since getting it. I guess I have some catching up to do while its downloading!
-
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get this, that pre-order bundle looks amazing. I've never used that site before though. Is that the one you ordered from @Dcubed ?

I'm not so sure about this, I'm much more interested in Rock Band 4 which sadly ISN'T coming to Wii U. And it does seem a little silly to me that after 5 or 6 years of nothing, both series decide to come back in the same year.

I'm torn. Can I really stomach another 2D platformer? But... Can I REALLY refuse another Yoshi game, especially one this cute? I've always loved the style of Yoshi games, I still find myself randomly whistling Yoshi Touch and Go music from time to time despite having not played it in years. Ok, I've already made up my mind :p The real question now is, can I play with just the pro controller? Or will I have to finally fix my pad? Hnnnnnnnngg

I would have killed for DK64 on the Wii VC back in the day. As it stands though I don't care too much now as I have my N64 set up to my TV and original cartridge. I'm also not into those collect-a-thon games anymore, I loved this game back in the day, one of my favourites of all time even, but I just can't stand that type of gameplay now. I guess that's why I actually really liked Nuts & Bolts, I love the Banjo world and characters but Cba for another game of that genre so was pleasantly surprised to play it in a whole new style. How do they look? I think N64 games look much better in the original resolution. Banjo Kazooie still looks beautiful on my TV through the right picture settings on my N64 but my downloaded XBLA version shows the true horror of those textures and ruins the feel a bit for me.

Dixie Kong and K.Rool - considering the size of the franchise I never feel as though the DK universe gets enough recognition in SMASH

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Josh64 replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The day one patch for Wii U completely changed the OS. You can do a hell of a lot with DLC and patches. -
I've always been quite content with my Wii U and its been amazing as a party console (the fun times I've had on the drawing minigame on G&W, Bumpie's Party, Nintendo Land, Just Dance, Wii U Karaoke, it really is the ultimate party console) but this last month or so really has been quite slow and the Zelda news is a bit too much to swallow for me. I've never been as disenchanted with Nintendo and the Wii U as I am right now. I really hope they manage to change my mind with the direct and E3 but I cant help but think they just haven't got it in them anymore. They have the quality but they sure as hell don't have the quantity I didn't think it'd be over so early, because it seemed as though the Wii U was finally getting a personality and decent library, but it feels as though it's gonna start the fizzling down already, like what we saw with Wii in 2011. Like I said, I really hope I'm wrong, but with what nintendo have ready for us this year, and with the absmal sales, I think Wii U has finally stopped fighting and Nintendo are setting their sights on the NX.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Josh64 replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'd forgotten about that actually, I'm still very used to their old ways of showing a game off 2 years before release :p With that in mind theres still hope yet at E3 otherwise I really don't see how they'll keep the system on shelves long enough for Zelda U to arrive. Heck, just a bunch of HD Gamecube games would do, Wind Waker HD was great in terms of gameplay and sales. -
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

I'm really starting to think this may not be Wii U exclusive with this delay and will have another awkward Twilight Princess release. And what will this do for Wii U? I'm sure Starfox and Splatoon will be great but theyre hardly on the same level as Zelda, Nintendo doesn't really have a 'big' release this year now (X is big in a gameplay sense but pretty unknown to the wider gaming community) Fucked again, basically :p -
General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Josh64 replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I really wasn't expecying Mario Party to chart that high so that's great news. Real shame about the Wii U in Japan atm though, that was the only place it ever seemed to do fairly well I'm comparison to the other consoles -
It's lame if she's a bitch in general and especially bad if she's giving you trouble about your hearing but a frown for being late doesn't sound too out of line :p

Nintendo and Online Gaming. What's The Deal?
Josh64 replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
@Serebii as it happens I did like some of the minigames, it was just the inbetween parts I couldn't stand :p I've always thought a Pokémon party game would be great, and there's so many Pokemon the possibilities for games are endless, I cant think of the hours poured into the Minigames on Stadium 1 and 2. @RedShell I actually really hope for a Wii Music 2. It got so many things right but wasn't executed well, I loved being able to layer songs with different instruments and the controls were actually super responsive but Nintendo were SO cheap with the licensing. The songs were garbage. And the instruments all sounded pretty poor so every song, no matter how much effort, sounded like it was recorded on a cheap organ Back onto online though, that's something Wii Music was quite good at, it was pretty fun being able to send and recieve songs. If we did ever get a sequel I'd hope for a straight to YouTube option and it'd be pretty fun to have jam sessions online. -
Nintendo and Online Gaming. What's The Deal?
Josh64 replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
In the same way the music industry is all about One Direction and Lady Gaga I assume? No, there's plenty of variety, certainly more than the handful of Wii U releases we've had this year. To claim it's all shooters and realistic action games is idiotic. And I'm not saying Nintendo don't make great titles because they do, and most of my favourites are by them, but I'm saying they're not immune to your statement as they've also released plenty of rubbish too - Pokemon spinoff titles such as Pokemon channel and Pokepark seem to have barely any quality control or regard for the series they're representing. Wii Music didn't do wonders for the Wii brand either. -
Nintendo and Online Gaming. What's The Deal?
Josh64 replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Oh please, there's plenty of quality content outside the world of Nintendo and other developers are giving people what they want which is why the Wii U is irrelevant in the current gaming industry and tanking majorly compared to the PS4 and One. And with Pokemon shuffle and ridiculously long patches as soon as you get the Wii U, Nintendo aren't perfect and bug free. -
Nintendo and Online Gaming. What's The Deal?
Josh64 replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
In this day and age that's no excuse. Kids are using PC's and iPads just fine, they're clued up about who they should and shouldn't talk to... and if they're not, that's what parental controls are for. -

Pathetic. The 360 came out nearly 10 years ago and let's you chat with any of your online friends in any game. -
Nintendo & DeNA Business Agreement - Nintendo on Smartphones
Josh64 replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I can't wait to see what comes of this, I much prefer playing stuff on my iPad these days than my 3DS (got the new Phoenix Wright on my iPad instead, actually) I can't believe some of you though, saying there's no quality games on mobile and that they're all cheap cash-in's is as ignorant as saying the Wii was crap and only had sports and dance games. Scratch a little below the surface before sweeping generalisations. I also think Nintendo can easily sweep the floor with mobile just looking at their DS output, of course a mario platformer would be no good, but what about Nintendogs, Wario Ware Touched, Yoshi's Touch and Go, these are all games that would be great on mobile, some of which, like Wario Ware, have already proven to be a popular concept on mobile - Dumb Ways To Die is exactly like WarioWare in that you play through a bunch of short mini-games that get consisitently faster and keep going until you're out of lives and that, along with its sequel, has consistently been in the top charts. Pokemon already does pretty well, the Trading Card Game is awesome and the TV app is pretty cool. The main game is a hard decision though. I can see why they wouldn't/won't release it on mobile as it is the saving grace for their handhelds, especially with the original GameBoy and 3DS, but rampant emulator usage on Android (and the way they shoot to the top of ios charts the short time they manage to stay on there) show that there would be a massive market for it. There was a ROM site to get Pokemon for Android and the download count was in the millions, thats a lot of potential money but again - pricing would be a nightmare to figure out and I have no doubt that more than any other series, going mobile would seriously effect the Nintendo device version of it. -
I forgot about this and was asleep when it happened :p According to facebook it was too cloudy in my area to really see anything though so I'm not too fussed

He's been on tablets for his heart for years and whilst I knew it would eventually start to effect him, I kinda just ignored it. Anyway went to the vets for Banjos check up and the vet said everything is fine but "this is when he'll start to deteriorate and it will start slow but eventually snowball" I started to feel really upset and its stupid because he's technically doing well considering his condition (he just turned 8!) AND the vet said he's fine atm but I can't imagine life without little Banjo and he's still so puppy like I kinda just... Saw him as immortal :p I'll put a pin in it for now, it was just the first time I ever considered he could be on the decline and he's always been the one thing to keep me sane

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!
Josh64 replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
I've been liking a lot by Sakanaction recently but this one really stands out. His voice is amazing and the backing track to this song is so good. I also love how weird the video is and he is just... Oh man  -
Without any spoilers, does this series pick up at all? I'm in such a slump with it right now, tried episode 10 twice but gave up both times. I can't tell if it's genuinely gone downhill or if I'm just in a Walking Dead slump. I did go overkill the last few months catching up on the previous series so that could be a factor.
-
Haha maybe I was a bit over dramatic with my wording :p but it is genuinely my least favourite main title Mario game, and I've played pretty much all of them. It's especially sad to me that 3D World sold less when it's a far better game in every aspect. And as it stands... I actually prefer Luigi U :p NSMBU was so by the books it was almost unplayable (for me but maybe I've just been playing too much Mario) whereas the mad difficulty curve of Luigi U at least made it a bit more interesting. That and I think the 90 second level time limit really helped the pace of the game. EDIT: But yes, those graphics are disgusting and that music is something else. Sounds like something someone would play on an old organ at some town hall event in a small village.

New Super Mario Bros U is one of the most disgusting, cheap cash-ins I've ever experienced from Nintendo, only beaten by the 'special edition' Mario All-Stars game or - SNES ROM dump on a DVD disc. Honestly, the only day I enjoyed NSMBU was Christmas day when I was drunk off my face and even then I could tell the music and design were lame.
