My god, how old were you when you started? I remember dying over each page of NGC magazine before it's release whilst on holiday at HAVEN. P.S. Sick burn on the 3D World joke. You should rate it 8/10 For bantz.

@Animal oh man, that sounds terrible My thoughts are with you and your family right now. And your work place sounds very unreasonable about the whole thing. Either they don't realise quite how serious the situation is or they're just total dickheads. Either way, maybe it's best to start a new venture. And I'm glad my HSM tweets were recieved well, I was watching it and couldn't help but think of you :p

I don't know, perhaps we could have said that a year ago but I think Iwata has tried hard to save the sinking ship and has done a good job in just the last year of taking all of Nintendo's eggs out of one basket and spreading them to new ventures. This time two years ago it felt like pretty much Nintendo's only revenue was made from the Wii U and 3DS but now they have the surprisingly popular amiibo, are branching out into new areas, such as the theme park stuff and QOL and most importantly are going to enter the mobile market, as well as whatever the NX is. It took a while to see exactly what Iwata was doing, and whilst the Wii U was clearly borked in every way, he's making up for it by expanding the Nintendo name into other areas and I think that's a good thing.

KK should be a playable character instead, even if he's just a villager skin!

Iwata seems like such a nice person so it's a shame that he's clearly not looking his best. I can't remember what his illness was, but could that be an on-going thing? Other than that I think it could purely be stress related, he looks so thin now.

The London 2012 game was AWESOME. As a multiplayer experience, it shit all over Mario Party and Wii Party I thought. All the other versions are pretty tosh though. They weren't refined enough before 2012, and the one after, Sochi, had too many different controller options, complicated page long descriptions of how to control and play each game, a borked party mode and generally pretty rubbish minigames. I'm hoping they can create another great title now that they're used to the Wii U hardware and hopefully have a clearer vision of what controls to go with. Any game that lets you play as Silver the Hedgehog and Diddy Kong has me excited.

I love me a bit of Bill. I heard there was a new Chibi Robo but upon seeing it I'm a bit disappointed. I would have liked to have seen a return to the old style gameplay, I'm just so sick of the amount of 2D platformers Nintendo are releasing for their systems. That Amiibo looks damncute though.

The sheer scope of Wicther 3 is what puts me off, despite it looking so amazing. It's the kinda thing that would have blown my mind as a kid but scares me off these days. -
I don't know what's wrong with me. I really loved RARE and their platformers, and I've been forcing myself to get excited over this but... I just can't. It's early days, so hopefully some proper gameplay and levels will sway me, but the character designs aren't winning me over right now.

You have to be pretty blind to genuinely believe that Ronnie, so I'll assume you're just taking the piss :p

It's cool that it's Samus themed but damn... That's one ugly controller :p

Pokemon White 2 is doing weirdly well. -
Argos gave away a free copy of Other M to everyone that bought Mario Kart 8 last year as well, damn they must have overstocked on that game :p
-
My local ASDA has only had two Nintendo products for the last year or so, Animal Crossing on 3DS and a 2DS handheld, both crammed in the corner of the 360 section.

Used from CEX so I was just very lucky it was like new!

The title says it all really, what games have reviewers, friends and co-workers been nagging you to buy, for you to then be disappointed? To start things off, I'm almost scared to say this on these forums but.. Little King's Story. I heard SO many great things about it on this forum so when I finally bought it and had a go I just couldn't see what all the fuss was about. I didn't find it particularly charming and if anything, the graphics were actually very ugly. The gameplay felt like an awkward take on Pikmin and I just couldn't get invested in the experience at all. After forcing myself to fire it up a few times I decided it just wasn't for me. The same happened with Monster Hunter. I finally got it as my free game with Mario Kart 8 but.. where do I begin? Clunky controls, bare-bones environments (monsters literally just clip through shrubs or hills), boring weapon upgrades/fusing and all that bollocks and the grid based gameplay makes it feel like an N64 game trying to be open world. Disappointing is more than an understatement. I've spent about 10 hours with the game and wished I hadn't bothered because the whole time whilst telling myself 'I just need to get into it', I didn't enjoy it one bit. Before you kill me, I can see why these games got the acclaim they did, and I'ts no doubt just my personal tastes dampening the experiences but it was disappointing either way. So, what games were hyped up, only for you to be let down?
-
Aah I figured it could be to do with development studios. Oh well. Everyone go back to enjoying the thread :p

I was going to complain but I appreciate it's an established game series that sells pretty well and I must remember that Pokemon has a bigger kids audience than any other Nintendo franchise. It makes me wonder though, what numbers did Pokemon Snap do? All I ever hear is people pining for a return of that game but instead we keep getting Rumble and Mystery Dungeon. Again, I can see why, sales and all that, but why can't we get some of the other quality titles too? (Genuine ignorant question, I'm not trying to be snarky :p)

Yeah, 32gb is a joke but 8gb is just unbelievable. Then again, everything about the Wii U seems a bit backward :p The fact that most of us on here have had to go out of our way to buy a harddrive ourselves, looking for Y-Cables and all that lark just shows how awkward the system is. And they're probably just getting rid of excess stock, I'm sure they stopped making the 8gb consoles over a year ago.

Got a boxed Wii Mini today for £42. Was pretty happy as it came with the red Wiimote plus and nunchuck but the stars inside were still working so added another 1200 stars to my account

I have E3 off work
-
Can you play without the gamepad switched on? I manage to play Mario Kart and Smash fine but the Wii U won't even let me open NSMBU or Sonic without saying 'please turn on Wii U Gamepad to open software'
-
not a big deal. As you guys have said, it's pre-recorded so he'll no doubt be in the direct and being an American show anyway there's plenty of familiar NOA faces to keep the Nintendo presence felt.

They have sold well considering they're on Wii U but they've done sweet FA to push more consoles. As far as I know, the Wii U STILL hasn't broke the 10 million mark. Don't get me wrong, the attatch rate for Mario Kart is incredible, especially as I'm not aware of any console bundles with the game, but it's still miles away from what has been achieved with Mario Kart DS and Wii and no doubt cost a lot more to make than those titles. I think the hope was that Mario Kart would really push the console, but it was generally only people that already owned a Wii U that bought it. And long list of releases? You must be joking. What have we had so far this year? Kirby and Captain Toad. Thank god Yoshi and Splatoon will FINALLY be released soon. Some of your points are valid, but I feel as though you defend Nintendo blindly. The release lists and DLC as of late are what put doubt in my mind as to how long the Wii U has left more than anything else.

Put the new battery in my GamePad and still nothing. Damn you Nintendo, your hardware quality has nose-dived since the DS Lite era. I really don't have the enthusiasm to get it replaced. It's the time and effort more than anything. Is it too much to ask to just buy a new damn replacement controller? (Yes, apparently)
