  1. Every shop managers favourite employee, N-Europe's sassy agony aunt and my dancing queen @Animal turns 25 today. Put on your dancing shoes, dress as Harry Potter and let's get this party started!
  2. If a visual style is mistaken for bad graphics then it's not a good or clever one to go with. To me it sounds like an excuse, and if it really is the style then it's a pretty awful one.
  3. Yoshi's Wooly World, we haven't had anywhere near enough coverage on that game.
  4. The reason they are focusing on the next 6 to 12 months and not showing any big title in the distance is because there probably aren't any. I imagine Zelda is the only big Wii U title left, and whilst they no doubt have plenty of big titles all under wraps, they're no doubt all set for the NX which Nintendo arent' willing to reveal yet. So we're stuck in this awkward mess.
  5. It was weak, but it's been spread out which is why it seems that way. If there were no spoilers and no direct a few weeks ago and spoils at championships it would have been a decent E3. A surprise Ryu announcement would have been awesome, same for Hyrule warriors. Mother coming to Europe would have also gone down really well. Add to that third party fluff that wasn't included such as Mario & Sonic, Just Dance and an indie sizzle reel and whilst it would have still not been mega, it would have been good. I think as a whole it's been a good month for Nintendo news, it's just the official e3 day didn't have it all in one go. But yeah, I didn't hate it as much as you guys, but it's clear the Wii U is on the way out. I've always just loved the charm of Nintendo though. I haven't got Splatoon yet, and mario maker and Yoshi look awesome and adorable, along with Starfox and the other little goodies. It's been clear to me for a long time that Nintendo are weird and cooky, and shouldn't really be able to survive in what is now a Western dominated market, so I'm thankful that they're still around with their puppetry at E3, their Smash Bros nostalgia enducing remixes and passion for 2D platformers. I've accepted that they're never going to be the company they were in the N64 days, I'm just thankful they can support themselves and give us awesome quality titles every now and then and give us amazing fan-service as I thought they'd have gone the way of SEGA back in the GameCube era. The fact that it's 2015 and we're getting a new Starfox makes me very happy.
  6. Oops, I was meant to delete my comment as HOT had already made my point :p I guess you're right with Xenoblade to a degree, but it still didn't have the same support from Nintendo, especially given how the U.S. release felt like pulling teeth
  7. A young blooming flower at the helm of N-E.
  8. Splatoon is a true new ip. The eShop games are nowhere near as big. Splatoon is another big game, a Pikmin or Starfox, and it's fair to say we haven't had a BIG new ip from Nintendo since the Mii's bobbed their heads up for Wii Sports.
  9. Happy Birthday sausage.
  10. My god, how old were you when you started? I remember dying over each page of NGC magazine before it's release whilst on holiday at HAVEN. P.S. Sick burn on the 3D World joke. You should rate it 8/10 For bantz.
  11. @Animal oh man, that sounds terrible My thoughts are with you and your family right now. And your work place sounds very unreasonable about the whole thing. Either they don't realise quite how serious the situation is or they're just total dickheads. Either way, maybe it's best to start a new venture. And I'm glad my HSM tweets were recieved well, I was watching it and couldn't help but think of you :p
  12. I don't know, perhaps we could have said that a year ago but I think Iwata has tried hard to save the sinking ship and has done a good job in just the last year of taking all of Nintendo's eggs out of one basket and spreading them to new ventures. This time two years ago it felt like pretty much Nintendo's only revenue was made from the Wii U and 3DS but now they have the surprisingly popular amiibo, are branching out into new areas, such as the theme park stuff and QOL and most importantly are going to enter the mobile market, as well as whatever the NX is. It took a while to see exactly what Iwata was doing, and whilst the Wii U was clearly borked in every way, he's making up for it by expanding the Nintendo name into other areas and I think that's a good thing.
  13. KK should be a playable character instead, even if he's just a villager skin!
  14. Iwata seems like such a nice person so it's a shame that he's clearly not looking his best. I can't remember what his illness was, but could that be an on-going thing? Other than that I think it could purely be stress related, he looks so thin now.
  15. The London 2012 game was AWESOME. As a multiplayer experience, it shit all over Mario Party and Wii Party I thought. All the other versions are pretty tosh though. They weren't refined enough before 2012, and the one after, Sochi, had too many different controller options, complicated page long descriptions of how to control and play each game, a borked party mode and generally pretty rubbish minigames. I'm hoping they can create another great title now that they're used to the Wii U hardware and hopefully have a clearer vision of what controls to go with. Any game that lets you play as Silver the Hedgehog and Diddy Kong has me excited.
  16. I love me a bit of Bill. I heard there was a new Chibi Robo but upon seeing it I'm a bit disappointed. I would have liked to have seen a return to the old style gameplay, I'm just so sick of the amount of 2D platformers Nintendo are releasing for their systems. That Amiibo looks damncute though.
  17. The sheer scope of Wicther 3 is what puts me off, despite it looking so amazing. It's the kinda thing that would have blown my mind as a kid but scares me off these days.
  18. I don't know what's wrong with me. I really loved RARE and their platformers, and I've been forcing myself to get excited over this but... I just can't. It's early days, so hopefully some proper gameplay and levels will sway me, but the character designs aren't winning me over right now.
  19. You have to be pretty blind to genuinely believe that Ronnie, so I'll assume you're just taking the piss :p
  20. It's cool that it's Samus themed but damn... That's one ugly controller :p
  21. Pokemon White 2 is doing weirdly well.
  22. Argos gave away a free copy of Other M to everyone that bought Mario Kart 8 last year as well, damn they must have overstocked on that game :p
  23. My local ASDA has only had two Nintendo products for the last year or so, Animal Crossing on 3DS and a 2DS handheld, both crammed in the corner of the 360 section.
  24. Used from CEX so I was just very lucky it was like new!
  25. The title says it all really, what games have reviewers, friends and co-workers been nagging you to buy, for you to then be disappointed? To start things off, I'm almost scared to say this on these forums but.. Little King's Story. I heard SO many great things about it on this forum so when I finally bought it and had a go I just couldn't see what all the fuss was about. I didn't find it particularly charming and if anything, the graphics were actually very ugly. The gameplay felt like an awkward take on Pikmin and I just couldn't get invested in the experience at all. After forcing myself to fire it up a few times I decided it just wasn't for me. The same happened with Monster Hunter. I finally got it as my free game with Mario Kart 8 but.. where do I begin? Clunky controls, bare-bones environments (monsters literally just clip through shrubs or hills), boring weapon upgrades/fusing and all that bollocks and the grid based gameplay makes it feel like an N64 game trying to be open world. Disappointing is more than an understatement. I've spent about 10 hours with the game and wished I hadn't bothered because the whole time whilst telling myself 'I just need to get into it', I didn't enjoy it one bit. Before you kill me, I can see why these games got the acclaim they did, and I'ts no doubt just my personal tastes dampening the experiences but it was disappointing either way. So, what games were hyped up, only for you to be let down?
