    FIFA 14

I never buy Fifa games myself but I play tournaments with friends every now and then. I've played a few matches on 14 now and I thought it was pretty good. It felt sluggish and cumbersome at first but there's a better sense of physicality, the game is interrupted less often with fouls and such and the animations actually add to the game physically. Finesse shots and aerial passes are now much more useful after feeling floaty and useless in 13. Give it time.
  3. Not sure what to make of it. It hasn't left me in awe, but I suppose everything came together nicely and it was still very gripping. Maybe I'm just sad that it's over.
  4. I'm cunting my pants over this, may have to go to bed now and RISE AT DAWN.
  5. DLC to be announced later this week.
  6. Yeah but Liverpool did such a good job with Wipeout. Perhaps there could've been more tracks but I can't imagine the next developer possessing quite the same attention to detail.
  7. Heavy Rain was worth it for the adrenaline rush alone so I'll probably pick this up when it's a bit cheaper simply because of the feels. It doesn't even need to be good, 'entertaining' will suffice. Plus Zimmer
  8. Wipeout: Warehouse Dodgems ? No wonder Studio Liverpool got panned. Edit - That's actually just made me really sad that there won't be a PS4 Wipeout. That would've been a real tempter at launch, HD still looks gorgeous.
  9. This looks pretty damn cool.
  10. I connected my Dual Shock 3 up to my laptop but I damn well near died in the attempt. This move would tempt me to buy more Steam games.
  11. This question...so.......many............times! Going back makes the first game feel really clunky, there's less freedom and the mission structures aren't as interesting. I don't think it's worth it at all, Daft does. And we're the only two people whose opinions count so make of that what you will.
  12. For me this isn't the future of entertainment but hey, it's there if you want it Sony set to go big with virtual reality on PlayStation 4 http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-09-03-sony-set-to-go-big-with-virtual-reality-on-playstation-4
  13. I recommend ChessNetwork on Youtube, the uploader Jerry has lots of different series about tactics, puzzles and famous games as well as bullet tournaments he takes part in, which are usually pretty entertaining. You'll learn the general principles, names of moves etc etc but the only way to get good at chess is to practice. LOADS.
  14. I'm willing to bet that isn't final.
  15. I've started Number9Dream (Stranger in a Strange Land is on hold)
  16. @Daft once recommended me a Chess book on Tumblr but I didn't ever get round to acquiring it.
  17. United were painful to watch. As has been said they were crying out for a creative midfielder, or hell even a winger who can take players on. We don't have those. Nobody was finding the space between the opposition's midfield and defence for link up play. Same situation with Chelsea and I know both teams played defensively against us but we didn't create any golden opportunities in either match, which is a major concern. Ashley Young is wank, as is Nani, Anderson should've been put in the centre because he likes to drive forward and he puts himself about. Miserable. Completely agree with Flink about Giggs. Nobody else in the top 5 would feature him in their starting line-up. Why are we? It's a joke. Grumble grumble.
  18. I'd be very happy if they released CiT on PS+. Plus has been very useful for a few games and has already proved great value for money, but it has also reminded me how picky I am with games now. I don't touch 90% of the stuff that comes out on the service.
  19. I might just have to buy the sweet fuck outta this.
  20. Errr ma gerrrr I ment teh Super verzion! You so silleee!
  21. Only teasing. You should try Stardust if you've got a PS3. It's not a constant bullet-frenzy shooter like you've got stuck in your head, instead the combo-building is about using a boost function to hunt down enemies and asteroids to score points, before changing over to a defensive style when a new wave of matter floods the planet and you just need to try and survive. It gives the stages more variety and it's weirdly cathartic. Methodically stripping down asteroids with a hose-like flame-thrower, with chilled bleepy music in the background, is not an activity to be sniffed at.
