  1. E3 is under a week away, the World Cup arrives a few days after, and I've got no work to be getting on with before either. Life is good.
  2. I can confirm they are still working because I have recently been annihilating n00bs left, right and centre on Uncharted 3. All of the map packs are free now, and the lab mode has its own custom maps on top of that. Yummy. Also, because it bears repeating: the parkour aspect of the game (i.e. the way you can chain jumps between ledges so as to maintain momentum) is so fucking neat. Just one of those little touches from ND that make the multiplayer that extra bit special.
  3. Your balls will be blown off. I remember being somewhat in awe when I got my PS3, it was just so damn slick.
  4. Read it for my degree this year, it's divine. Nab a copy, it's not too long either.

The attempt to channel the dark red was a noble one but unfortunately it hasn't worked, Choze. Sorry to say it but, now more than ever, you sound like a decommissioned Sony FanBot that has somehow freed himself from core control and began to spit out unmediated radicalised guff. I don't think Sony would even have you any more.
  6. Anyone watched Frank ? Caught it at the Cornerhouse in Manchester the other day and really enjoyed it. Utterly unpredictable, genre-defying stuff with awesome musicianship and offbeat characters.
  7. E3. (New Order? Alas, the snippet we've seen has been a bit shitty)
  8. Why would Microsoft have saved the Kinect-less Xbox One announcement for E3 as if it were anything but a failure? I thought drahkon was joking.
  9. I don't think Microsoft necessarily regrets dipping their feet into the gaming pool. Nobody had any idea where games were headed back then, and we likely don't know the full extent of their potential application now. The technologies aren't restricted to the one sphere.
  10. Live from London: Arsenal open their trophy cabinet
  11. Does anyone else support one player? I support Messi because I just love seeing him do well. I basically follow the Spanish league because of him (Bale also, nice to see some British success too (no, not Welsh)).

Actually looks really good, the sky boxes are phenom.
  14. Well, I was banned from the Wii board ages ago and it carried over to all things Nintendo I suppose because the establishment couldn't handle my witty game critiques (think along the lines of: 'Lol, ExciteTruck? more liek Ex-Shite Duck! Hehhh!!!'). Not sure why I would pose a problem now though because there aren't any WiiU games to speak of. #NotDoingMyselfAnyFavours #OldHabitsNeverDie #PS4EliteCrew #Win I can't say I've been sorely missing those crack-pots anyway.
  15. Being the hazard that I am, I can't post this in the WiiU board so I had to come 'home' instead. You'd think several years' penitence would waive my ban but hey.
  16. That figures I suppose.
  17. A new Unreal Tournament is in development, with Epic apparently working in tandem with the online community. Potentially nom.
  18. The hardware is a problem for Nintendo in that they don't have the muscle to compete as a multimedia platform. The brand, however, is enough to push consoles if the variety of games is there, but it simply isn't there at the moment. Nintendo need to change their approach and recognise that they rely too much on nostalgia to push sales. They need to maintain their key franchises as well as create new ones, they need to be at the cutting edge of game design again. If they can't change approach, then going third party seems like a fruitful option. Chasing trends the way they do is a risky practice. My bet is that they will resign the home console within the next ten years.
  19. And the ethos of the system finally fizzles out.
  20. You have to look at the revenues as well. As long as the loss is controllable and their investors are confident of making an eventual return, then it might not be curtains for many of the divisions that seem to be flagging. Mass lay-offs are more telling, 'cause then the shit hits the fan. The Vita is a drop in the ocean for Sony, but as long as the gaming tentacle remains profitable as a whole there is no threat for us legends here at the N-E massive who want to play that lovely next level shit. (That isn't true, because it might have to be sold off, but yeah. Don't listen to me)
  21. Yeah I agree with you, I just failed to write properly.
  22. It would be sweet as fuck if TLG finally made it, but I can't shake the feeling that it will be horribly outdated, and not merely in graphical terms. The style is still ace, but, man, it's been a looooong time. They'll probably have to put it on PS4 to recuperate costs, assuming they're ludicrously high.
  23. I don't think I'll ever buy a pre-owned console again. Costs have exceeded savings in the long run.
  24. Wise choice, the Dogs have probably tapped your computer. Why do I even post?
