    DUST 514

It's basically going to end up creating a world where people will have to sit on their chairs completing daily space objectives in order to survive. The ability to wander freely around the world (or virtual universe) will be granted if you have enough money, like in our real lives really. Things could be made so interesting that MMOs won't be considered games anymore but they are the coming of an infinite virtual reality. This thing'll get big on consoles to a certain extent and then machines will be released based purely on giving people the experience. This place will have it's own internet and television channels that can only be viewed whilst you're 'playing/doing it. In 40 years I'd say.

    DUST 514

It just seems like a really big step/ideology. Almost a technology that is too expensive or complicated to implement throughout thousands of households. Yet it should be here soonish. Really shows a big leap in gaming, but isn't it also a leap in something else? Like they could really do something useful with this in a way. Seems NASA-ish. Or am I getting ahead of myself?

    DUST 514

That's one of the interesting parts. So imagine before a DUST match you get a live debriefing via headset from an Eve commander and you can move around in the same room as them, interacting with their movements in real time also. Then whenever you respawn they can give you intel etc before you shoot off in your space shuttle towards the next destination. That's one of the geekiest comments I've ever made.

@Flamey: Yeah. They obviously do provide a lot of fun though. Even if the experiences are lesser, we would've missed out on a lot of stuff simply because people didn't think they were worth releasing on consoles or because they thought the graphics and gameplay wouldn't hold up. Some of this adds to the charm of handheld games, although it's more than charm isn't it? Take Mario Kart DS for instance, that game is probably the best of the series, in a way though a lot of that (for me personally) is down to it being cool because it's on a portable. With the retro-like graphics which are nice because they are surprisingly good but dated at the same time, it's hard not to like it. Plus the presentation etc make it seem like it's retro even though it isn't trying to be. I'm not knocking the game in any way, it's awesome, I'm just crediting a large chunk of it's awesomeness down to the 'charm'. If you spruce it up with shiny effects and make it look dandy, it loses that innocence in a way and that's when you end up with MK Wii. Should be better, but isn't, even though it is on a console. Indeed other factors come into play when comparing those games, like the handling being better/simpler in MK: DS but hopefully one of you will understand me. I'm not just applying this to MK. The Echochrono (or whatever they've called it now) on PSP wouldn't be 'cool' on a console. Likewise Motorstorm: Arctic Edge on PSP would be shit on the console, but with the edges roughened and put on a screen between your hands, it's nice to sit down, appreciate those moving images you're controlling before your eyes and be quietly content with the impressive amount of content crammed into that little UMD.

I personally haven't. Can't wait to get my hands on it (well I can but shhh) as I always like to try out new handhelds. Remember being very excited when I got the DS when it came out, something about portable game systems give me a buzz in a way. Though I'm not a great fan of any of them. Most games are smaller brothers to console games in pretty much every aspect. Plus gaming isn't exactly an activity I'd properly associate with something you'd do when you're on the move.

He managed to earn himself a mention on Wikipedia though to be fair: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fan_(person)#Fanboy.2Ffangirl
  7. I really hope he does that. I had it in the back of my mind but until I saw that post nobody had suggested it, so I pray that he makes this 'fuck you' show. That would win back my respect. And remind me of how awesome he is.
  8. It succeeded in it's aims. I felt sick seeing that last picture.
  9. Short clip of magic gameplay. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/japanese-magic-3d-dot-game/57218

  11. I picked up my Red Bull cans today, good stuff. Little blue/white slip came through yesterday so I happily walked to collect it from the PO.
  12. Sin City Extreme violence, a couple of times I thought the credits were about to roll but didn't. I don't know who was in the lift at the end, I guess it was an important figure connecting the '2 stories'. Like there were 2 stories in Pulp Fiction also. You can see Tarantino's influences. Some of the action was quite fun and I liked the narration. 7-9/10

Thank god you cleared that up. Wesley now knows the answer to his question. He didn't understand that the same games were available on both systems. You've not missed the point he made at all and have given him the information he required.
  15. Lol tbf it wasn't a bad effort and goes to show he was serious about it. He wouldn't have wanted to put his reputation on the line and ruin the 'we're risking 5 grand of your money' plot of the episode if he got it wrong so that was serious shit. Anti-climax to all the events though. I smell rape. Just to point out I'm not a believer in him messing that up so that his other tricks appear genuine. As I said, still don't know what to believe.
  16. Hmmm I don't really no what to believe. He can't possibly do all those calcs.
  17. Unfortunately Derren Brown and Peep Show will intervene so I can't join you. (Even though Derren Browns programme will likely flop once again.
  18. ^ I was going to say to you the better it gets. Plus I've never experienced lag with it, when usually I like to complain about it.

Excluding almost every IGN editor. If someone buys it for £250 they are unlikely to say it's rubbish.
  20. Going to give an honest verdict so I'm sorry to say that I thought it was brilliant. I was skeptical when you started making these videos as to whether you'd pull it off but you definitely have. Confident on camera, great humour and interesting and informative footage/reviews, so I can't wait for more. Yahtzee in the making? I'd say so, you've got potential son.

Yeah those aren't good prices. They are going to wrong way about it if they're trying to compete with the iPhone. Motorstorm and larger games should be £15. That would be acceptable.
  22. The best thing you could do in order to appreciate it is to watch every episode of Screenwipe back to back. After seeing a couple of episodes on Yube I just spent a week watching every prog he has done up to the latest Newswipe series. Chances are if you don't like 1 series then you probably won't like the rest, which is fair enough.
  23. No I think that's the rare one that they were bigging up. Comes in a signed box I think with a replica dagger thing from the game or summut. Only obtainable through online competitions.
  24. The only slight spoil is knowing how insane the graphics and animations are. They'll probably be even better in single player with focal points like the u-boat in the first game.
  25. It's on Youtube as well. Not quite as god as Screenwipe but still funny in places.
