Just have fun with the 60 player stuff man.

Sheikah I feel your pain too in the Choze area but I think you're slightly wrong in using the point that PSP games would be crap if they were blown up in size. A handheld is meant to be pretty small and to be fair they have got some nice looking stuff on it. The Wii being a console it should be streaks better perhaps? I don't know. Still wouldn't buy a PSP unless it was sub £50 though.
-
I think co-op with 2 friends would be brilliant, competitive stuff is a bit indifferent though. Let's just say, if they released the single player game on it's own for less money (without missing out on trophies) I would buy that version.

I enjoyed it, going to watch the whole series definitely. 'I've got the keyboard, mission accomplished!' or whatever the line was, very funny. There were a few lols in there.

How dare thee! Online is where it's at, as for the campaign, it's fast paced action and done decently, but I don't really care for FPS single player frankly.

There isn't a PES thread so I thought I'd comment about the demo for it in here. Basically the graphics are very impressive, the likeliness is there, but it still suffers from the PES clunkyness in running and passing. Feels too mechanical. Plus I scored a completely freak goal. I was running down the wing with Kuyt, pressed square which I thought was cross, but instead Kuyt shot and it stayed fairly low. The keeper caught it and went out of play near the front post, then Kuyt started celebrating... I watched the replay from many angles and what happened was the keeper caught the ball, keeping it central to his body, then he walks THROUGH the post whilst the ball remains in front of the line and then his knee touches the side netting and a goal is awarded at that point. Stupid pro evo!

The fault rate for the PS3 isn't 0.5%. That was just the 'Yellow Light of Death. Furthermore it was based on the proportion of people that called Sony for support about that problem. If you think about it, it very likely most issues people called about would be trying to fix the online settings or calling about menu things etc and not defects. Many people that have had the problem haven't called Sony because either they know it costs too much or because they can't find the support number (Among other factors).

At least now I don't need to check if Babelfish is still around. -
Well a shootout whilst falling from a plane is awesome, but WET just isn't. Enough from me anyway, y'all make you're own decisions and talk about how good it is.

I really liked MGS4 but I think it is overrated somewhat. I at first thought it was a 10/10 game but I was trying to share the same great feelings towards it as the rest but when I think about it I wouldn't be so generous in the praise giving. I wouldn't say any of it was groundbreaking in gameplay terms, in fact there wasn't a whole lot of playing.

Lol no need for bitterness Flameboy, just because yours works. You need to understand that a large percentage of PS3s break. Ok many things break, but for a premium product with jack all escape plan that does genuinely have a flaw... Well. Maybe you'd think differently if you experienced this issue. (No you haven't, but me and Daft have had this shit thrown at us, along with 1 or two others. That's not a healthy proportion from the NE crew is it?)

Well it is worth shouting about. Most warranties are longer than that and why should they force you to shell out that much and leave that as the only option. A console shouldn't break, I didn't buy mine for it to crap out on me for no fault of my own. And my wallet has to sufer because of it.

Well the problem happens to around 10% of owners of PS3s. It's only a 1 year warranty and when that's up it is £100 or nothing. Microsoft repair for free, even when out of warranty. I'm surprised that Sony have the temerity to try and claim there are no hardware faults with their systems, it's pathetic, and damn right annoying. Something may have happened if Watchdog persisted.

Fair enough. I just felt after the demo that it could've been cobbled together in an hour (the main combat/setting stuff). I don't mind if a game has a few rough edges but it's hard to ignore the minimum effort gone into making the thing smooth visually and playwise.
-
I enjoyed that comment. But I think there are better 'simpleton' games out there that give you more satisfying simple pleasures i.e Xmen origins.
-
Yeah because the co-op feels very right. People vs bots in linear levels is so much better than people vs people in a map. Co-op gives you a feeling of purpose and it's just fun. I think in many ways that 3rd person games are poor at making the transition to online battles. Socom and this both have very noticeable drawbacks.
-
Ah I just commented about it in the online meetup thread about it, but yeah I share some of your thoughts.
-
I feel your pain. I had to do about 60 extra co-op Resistance 2 matches to get mine when I'd completed all the levels before but I didn't realise it sets you a target number of completions. Without really realising I'd completed 2 levels loads of times but the others I had only 1 or 2 completes, which was mainly down to me not knowing how to choose it all. Anyway, got the platinum eventually, and it's kind of worth it. The 10,000 ranked kills trophy was a pleasure however.

Ya know I wouldn't say you're missing out on too much. I mean it's nice to be able to get a glimpse of the thing but the fact is that Uncharted doesn't convert to multiplayer fun. I'd almost go as far to say that it might detract from the single player experience, because it's better when it's just Drake exploring the land finding cool things and taking on a bunch of people, instead of everyone being thrown into a level with the same abilities as Drake just shooting each other. Kinda wish hey hadn't included it, makes it feel... Less special?

Derren Brown's "I'm failing the nation" series
dwarf replied to EEVILMURRAY's topic in General Chit Chat
I want it to happen, but it almost deinitely won't work. I can picture the scene now: Some people jokingly say they can't stand up, one will try and convince that they are genuinely stuck, then the rest will be all triumphant about how it didn't work and call Derren a prick. Then you'll get people saying that he wasted an hour of their time, despite them knowing it may not work and despite them making a conscious decision to watch the programme anyway. -
Played my first match on this. It's pretty tense but that's partly because it was an RPG only game. Takes quite a while to get into a game but there's no lag and it's very nice visually, water effects etc and general movement are great.
