  1. It's not total trash to me, it does have a few good games and it could easily have been great. Unfortunately it isn't. And yeah you're right in a way Daft.
  2. I'm not sure what it would take for me to go back to the Wii. It wouldn't be a replacement to other systems by any means, but it would need 4 or 5 brilliant games to make me buy one. I'm not sure if Metroid, Mario or Zelda do that for me anymore. It did for the GC, DS (and the Wii when it originally came out) but they need to make something new instead of falling back on old franchises. I don't really care how long it takes for them to get their act together, I'm fine with just one console right now, but it would be nice to see a positive change within 5 years.
  3. How is the skill level calculated and what does it mean? I've seen some sketchy explanations from googling it. I'm currently 197, whatever that means.
  4. What would that be?
  5. I will probably watch it, not that excited for it though. If they show a good-looking FPS that uses Arc/Move (or any fairly deep game for that matter) then I'll be happy.
  6. Ah I didn't think it worked like that. Could make for an awesome squad deathmatch tactic. Just got 5 hand grenades with one half-blind throw. Insane!
  7. Ah right I unlocked that special recently, kind of annoying it has a damage trade off but I guess that's sensible. And Emasher, I would usually agree, but every SMG is still very accurate at long range, including the PP2000. It's the perfect attacking weapon because it just rips through people so easily. And I thought the vehicle unlocks were a bit quick. I got the Battlefield expert trophy this way almost too fast. I think they should allow for 2 vehicle perks in all honesty.
  8. I only really came across a few knifers to be honest, on the PS3 anyway they're hardly common. Plus there are lots of maps which are really hard to knife on.
  9. Wait til you try out the PP2000, the stats don't do the weapon justice (although the maxed rate of fire bar does speak for itself) Best guns in the game so far for me: Out of all of the Engineer ones I'd say the PP2000 is the best, although I've barely tried out that or the UMP 45 with magnum bullets so it's between those two. For the assault, I've only one weapon to unlock, but out of them so far the Abakan is the best. The burst fire is for some reason insanely good and fairly easy to use one quick burst for a headshot. I've only got 4 snipers unlocked currently, but for me the first one (M24) is still the best. As for handguns, it's a close one between the second unlock (i.e the WWII M1911.45) and the final handgun M93R Burst. Have not bothered using shotties yet but probably will use the SPAS-12 because of its insane range. People have killed me from mega range with that, and I'm not suprised because when you aim with one in the campaign, the reticule is essentially 100% accurate.
  10. Yeah but they're such a giveaway, I wouldn't use them unless I needed to glide somewhere fast.
  11. Just got 25 pins in one game! 49 kills 15 deaths. Insane, and it could've easily been more. This game is too good.
  12. I am a God in a squad (deathmatch). Seriously sometimes I amaze myself with my pro-ness. got a 15-6 in my first game, a 16-4 in the next and then an insane 30 kills to 7 deaths in the last. I'll give you the tactics low down. Basically most of the maps consist of a lot of small buildings and obviously a couple of streets and a tank. What you should do is scout around checking in all directions on foot, using powerful good-range weapons (with magnum bullets if possible). Find a nearby building. Go into the middle floor and scout the map from the balconies, pick someone off and then see where the action is and hop out. (To reduce fall damage from any height just jump out and back into the building while falling and you won't lose health) Whenever you're entering or exiting the house equip the shotgun attachment, clear out the building, rinse and repeat. Make sure to look up the stairs and then walk backwards up them to get rid of stair campers. Be careful for multiple people spawning on enemies, if they do the shotty should sort them out, or you could just grab their dog tags. Because enemies can be anywhere in this mode, if you're getting shot at just run around and find an unpredictable position and try and think where they will be running to try and get you. Don't stay still though because you won't be alive for long. The best tactic I find for the vehicle is just to park it on a hill and move forward and back slightly, shooting down people from a fair distance. Spin the barrel around every now and then because you get the common sneaky sniper trying to C4 yo' ass.
  13. The VIP thing is for the dark map and the Laguna Alta map isn't it? It doesn't grant you anything else down the line? Plus I don't get this veteran status thing. I'm guessing I have to have played more than just BC2 and 1943 to get the Garand.
  14. Squad deathmatch and Rush are stealing the show for me, they're both exceptional. I'd just like them to make the Conquest maps a bit more 1943-ish. It just feels slightly wrong and empty at the moment. Hopefully they'll release some more conquest maps soon. I recently unlocked the magnum bullets specialisation, it's so good! Couple that with a PP2000 or the AUG assault rifle and you'll have a whale of a time. For the first specialisation it depends what class you're using more, some weapons are much better with red dot sights, but with some guns they're fine so I usually op for the more grenades/explosives special or something else. And how do you get the M1 Garand from 1943? I signed up to the veteran site it talks about but there are no instructions on how to obtain it.
  15. Ah right cheers for the tip, I thought cries for ammo were just automated. The Valparaiso map is one of the best maps ever to be conceived. Stunningly well designed, and beautiful to look at.
  16. But I pretty much always eat through the lot from attacking and defending. Maybe there should be a d-pad button assigned to a standard 'I need ammo' shout like in TF2.
  17. Yeah some revives were useful, others not. I know that but the assault people are bloody stupid. Even if you jump up and down in front of them and melee them in their face they just stand there completely gormless. They probably think I'm a psychopath but oh well, I thought it was pretty clear that I wanted some lead to fire.
  18. The Rush mode on the Isla Inocentes is amazing. It's so fun for defenders, and really challenging for attackers. Managed to unlock all of the engineer weapons, haven't tested out the UMP too much but the PP2000 is incredibly good. I wish there was an extra ability specialisation box though, the guns don't have enough ammo in the loadout, so it's kind of a necessity to choose the extra mags specialisation, which means you can't have a red dot sight, or whatever. Ah well.
  19. Awesome games with Knee once more, you've outdone yourselves. Plus this seems to be the only game that my Jabra £5 headset tosh properly works with, so speech seemed pretty clear (as clear as you can call Cooky's accent anyway).
  20. Just looked at the trophies and realised that you only have to complete the last mission on hard to get the trophy. Silly me, I've been playing it on hard up to the snowblind mission.
  21. I had that slight feeling when I was playing it. I think the unlock speed is fine, but the conquest maps are seem linear sometimes or too close to each other. I appreciate the 1943 maps a lot more now because they really offer very different sections, and it seems like there's more freedom in them. Who knows, there might be some new maps that have a similar style to the ones in 1943. I actually think part of the problem is that the games are too short. Raise the points each team has and it would be vastly improved. A couple of them are brilliant though, like Laguna Presa. Edit: the servers seem to be fine now.
  22. Yeah I did a fair few squad deathmatch games without being disconnected whilst everyone else was having issues. It's an awesome mode. Those conquest games we did in the NE squad were intense, we were all different classes pretty much so we were ruling the show. Props to 'Hat, TysOnToast and Drahc. The 2 levels of the campaign I've played have been a lot less irritating than the first 5 in MW2. Granted neither are that special but the campaign in Company just feels better, partly because it isn't 100% linear, but also because you don't get annoying waves of long range infantry mullering you ever time you pop your head out from cover.
  23. No I don't, I was pointing out that you may as well not bother telling us which version of anything you prefer. You're like a coin with a head on either side; biased and completely predictable. But less interesting.
