  1. Hard drives aren't even going to be relevant soon - cloud services are the way forward.
  2. I don't really understand who doesn't shop for all their media online these days. Few years from now disks in boxes aren't going to be relevant. They barely are now.
  3. Oh god, there's nothing worse when when you're in that downward spiral and there's nothing you can do to turn it around. Xpert 11 is a cruel, cruel mistress - often leather-bound and whipping you while she gets off on your cries of pain and anguish as you beg for mercy and a fresh change of underwear.
  4. 3 - 5! 3-5! Wadda' game!
  5. Happy Birthday Mike me ol' muckka!
  6. This has been popping up around since the news - a powerful performance and weirdly relevant in today's troubled world.
  7. The odd thing about Mass Effect 2 is you can recommend it specifically to people who hated the first game. At a fiver no one has any excuse now. Honestly, that's just redonkulous.
  8. I was genuinely quite upset when I heard the news earlier today. We've lost a real national treasure. To Hollywood he was never going to be serious material, to them he was just that funny-looking British guy they brought in to class things up a bit. Their loss.
  9. Learn to drive, write more and set myself up in Portsmouth in any kind of fashion that would allow me to survive there. All are things already under-way and anything else will be a bonus. Gonna be an interesting year.
  10. Honestly, they could release nothing else this year and I'd still be delighted. None the less Zelda: Sky Sword, Dues Ex: Human Revolution, Portal 2 and the UK release of Kirby's Epic Yarn will all also be competing for my precious precious monies.
  11. Or at least it is for everyone around and east of the GMT! What do you think 2011 will bring, for you and for others? I'm predicting a tough year riven with violence, sex, violence, political violence and hard work for me and a lot of other people - but it'll be a year that sets us up for better years thereafter. Anyway, cheers! Here's to 2011! *swigs scotch*
  12. Comepleted Kasumi and Shadow Broker. Kasumi's not bad though nothing to write home about. Shadow Broker on the other hand, good god - I never thought I could be so impressed just by a sky-texture. Great level design and some of the best writing in the game in there too. Very involving, especially if your character has a history with Liara from ME1.
  13. Ever looked into someone's eyes? I mean, really, really looked into someone's eyes? With a microscope? Well Suren Manvelyan has and took some photos while he was there and... well... good god.
  14. Bandwagoners! Conform and roll out! [cue several hours of them adjusting their hair & clothes]
  15. I must say, having dug up my "canon" career to play the DLC I'm surprised by how much there was to enjoy in Overlord. The vehicle combat was somewhat aggravating given the Hammerhead's propensity of detonating itself any time anything sneezes violently enough, but over all it was a fairly meaty and interesting slice of ME2, especially the last section leading up to the boss battle. Most unexpected. Now onto Kasumi and then a grand finale with Liara and the Shadow Broker.
  16. Hipster can be an easily overused term though, that's the problem.
  17. Dammit, this is frustrating - my tactics seem to work but my players just aren't good enough. On the plus side though my rookies are developing very nicely, so even if I go down I reckon I'll have a boss next season.
  18. Heads-up everyone, all the DLC missions for ME2 are just 200 points each on the Xbox today - Lair of the Shadow Broker, Overlord and Kasumi, 600 points for the whole lot, so get it while it's hot. Goat in!
  19. Coming into this very, very late I'd like to add that this generation is one of the greatest and most significant not just because of the games but because of the means that they are delivered to us. Platforms like Steam are quite bluntly the future, albeit a future which is happening right now. For the first time small developers with intriguing ideas have a multitude of appropriate platforms offering a range of content and services that we can purchase from anywhere at any time. Our choices are now practically infinite, with platforms like PSN, XBLA, Nintendo Download, iPhone apps, the independent Penny-Arcade-founded Greenhouse and coming soon, OnLive a service which will stream state of the art games to your wheezing laptop, to name a few. This shit is, if you will, completely off the hook.
  20. I think they've got the wrong DC in the box with him - David Croft is only right next door surely?
  21. Oh for baby Jesus Christ's sake man, it's barely 5:30!
  22. Merry Christmas y'all! If you need me I'll be drowning myself in this lovely Cava. *hic*
  23. Slippers. Sheep-skin slippers. Pimp ones. For pimpin'.
