  1. Coolness? Coolness! Come out of my fridge, I have cake with sprinkles!
  2. Well, took long enough to start but by heavens it was worth getting up for. Drama all over the shop. Horrible luck for Vettel, he's been flawless all weekend. Bad luck for Button too who's strategic thinking failed him at the most critical moment, putting him almost right out of the championship. Barring something even more insane happening in the final two races it looks like a four horse race from now on. Fantastic. Also, although I don't usually like to knock, Legard was quite awful. I gave up on Lap 8 when he stopped being able to tell the difference between Hamilton, Button or Rosberg and fled to the Five Live commentary. Dear god somebody please promote Croft to the TV coverage, he's informed pleasant and interesting to listen to.
  3. End of. Literally.
  4. Oh shush you. Vettel's a young, charming, incredibly talented young driver. He'll be WDC sooner or later. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9115369.stm Anyway, that Red Bull is insane, the amount of time they can make in the 2nd sector alone is phenomenal. I hope the others get a good result to keep the championship good and open.
  5. I'm still not quite convinced of the overtaking opportunities available come race day, but practice times are quite close at the top so it should be an interesting competition none the less.
  6. Sorry I've fallen so far behind with these things! I've just been caught in the middle of a few things... Round 5 Bayern Fish 0 – 4 Recall United Things continued to go from bad to worse for the Fish as their second old rival grudge match against Recall United saw them sinking without a trace. 3 goals in the first 21 minutes from Recall utterly destroyed the home side’s confidence and they simply never recovered. The Fish put on a brave face for the second half and fought as best they could but still things went wrong as Rydman missed a late penalty, there only real chance of the whole game, followed by Rudolph Rosberg stumbling and slipping the ball into his own goal. A harrowing day for Bayern Fish fans everywhere. Cubic County 2 – 2 The Sixty-Fourthers It was a desperately frustrating day for the 64ers as what seemed to be a sure win was snatched from them at the last moment. With a daring new 3-4-3 formation the 64ers went straight onto the attack, dominating possession and creating many chances. They were soon rewarded with a header from veteran Osman after 11 minutes. After the break the 64ers continued to dominate though struggled throughout to make the most of their chance until Barwalla made good with another header. With less then eighteen minutes left it seemed to be over until Paddy Gould slipped through to find the net. The 64ers recovered and held until the very final minute when Dougie mcGreal broke through in sensational style for Cubic County to take it to a draw, much to the chagrin of the visiting fans. Eights United 1 – 1 Chelski FC Fighting for survival at the bottom of the table Eights united managed to pull a surprising draw against trophy contenders Chelski FC as they fought them to a standstill thanks to a superior defensive system. Alec Svanson put the Eights ahead early with a fine header in less the ten minutes. Chelski tried to strike back but despite repeated attempts simply couldn’t maneuver themselves in a position to even see the net. Things changed after the break as Chelski found themselves and roared into the second half, Timmy Marples making the equaliser at 56 minutes. Chelski attacked again and again but the Eights defence kept their wits about them to drag it out to a well won draw. Emo Blades 3 – 2 Bayern Bru It was a spectacular and unexpected victory for the Demo Blades as they came from behind twice to snatch a thriller on a victory. Helder scored early for Bru with a beautiful long range shot into the top left corner. The Blades refused to be cowed however and Heimdel soon equalised to rapturous noise from the home crowd, only for the vistors to resume cheering a few minutes later when Heinze put Bru back ahead. Into the second half and Bru were dealt a body blow as Wojcicki won a free-kick for the Blades and made the most of it, slipping under the crossbar. Bru tried to counter attack but Neal Shannonbridge broke back to score what would be the winning goal, completely taking the wind out of Bayern Bru’s sails for the rest of the match. An epic victory that the Blades will remember for some time. Most Important Match - Emo Blades 3 – 2 Bayern Bru, The Emo Blades doing their survival chances no harm and damaging Bayern Bru’s title bid. Turned on Style – Eights United may have only won a draw but it was punching well above their weight. Player of the Day - Neal Shannonbridge spots a winning opportunity for Emo Blades and uses it fully. Round 6 Bayern Fish 0 – 1 Emo Blades It was another day to forget for the Fish as Emo Blades romped over them to take an all too easy victory with a single goal. The winning goal would not be scored until two minutes from full time, Elof Heimdal breezing past the then exhausted and beleaguered home defenders to take the win, but at no point anywhere in the match did Bayern Fish ever look like challenging, the Blades midfield running circles around them even if they failed to make the most of the opportunities they created. Recall United 3 - 0 ReZ’s Rabies It was yet another powerhouse performance for Recall United as they stomped all over their old rivals the Rabies, who rarely looked in danger of breaking through Recall’s iron-cast defensive system. First Cammy Gers broke through to find the Rabies net in just over 13 minutes. The Rabies held on after that until the second half when they foolishly gave away a closr range free-kick and Brett Whiteside promptly punished them for it, Cammy Gers slipping through yet again in the closing minutes to seal the win for a team surely on their way to the very top tier of the Championship. Bayern Bru 5- 2 Eights United What should have been a cakewalk for Bayern Bru proved to be a surprisingly stiff challenge as the plucky Eights United took on the champions in waiting and gave the best possible showing for their travelling fan base. An early penalty by Noel followed soon after by Lindpere with a superb ranged strike put Bru two goals up and on course to thrash the visitors. The Eights however were not about to sit back and in the struggle through the opposition’s half won a penalty which Greshdhal gratefully put away. Bru soon returned the favour, a suspicious fall gifting a penalty for Noel who slotted it cleanly away only for the Eights to repeat the feat, Greshdhal scoring another penalty before half time finally rolled around. The second half however was different, and though the Eights fought on bravely the superior fitness of Bayern Bru shone through, Lindpere scoring a great header followed by another superb ranges strike to complete a hat trick to finish the game in their favour. Chelski FC 3 – 1 The Sixty-Fourthers It was another sorry day for the once mighty Sixty-Fourthers as they slumped miserably in front of Chelski FC’s adoring fans. Both sides atrted brightly enough, Lee Corben scoring a solid header for Chelski almost immediately and the 64ers’ Sorai taking a superb freekick to equalise after 20 minutes. After that however the 64ers never looked in it as the aggressive Chelski midfield kept the play well into the oppositions’ half for the rest of the match. First Dustin Brammer scored a soaring freekick right before the break and Benny Gledhill slipped through in extra time to complete a miserable second half for the visitors as their star midfielder Al Rikabi was sent off for a silly and unwarranted challenge. Most Important Match - Bayern Bru 5- 2 Eights United, Bayern Bru almost stumbled with stiff competition for the top rung. Turned on Style – Eights United held their own against vastly superior opposition. Player of the Day - Lindpere was the linchpin for Bayern Bru’s victory. More soon! Ish! (hopefully)
  7. I'm generally in favour as it'll give more freedom to folks to create threads about how Marvel & DC are both terrible and leaving everyone else to get on with things. However, I do hate you Shorty. Oh so very very much. No one should be that handsome.
  8. Although I certainly agree that babies being harmed by drug addiction is a problem, I'm not sure a form of social eugenics is the answer. Eugenics have not generally proven to be a particularly good answer to anything, despite numerous attempts by various groups in the past.
  9. Awesome - I don't know what to say, apart from never bet against Bruce. 9/10 Did somebody say 80s German pop/rock? The have now! (Verdamp Lang Her by Bap - this video just happens to be the better youtube postings of it I can find, in addition to being awesome in it's own right. )
  10. Happy birthday Daft! I'm going to leave now before anymore song title puns show up...
  11. It's true. It's like if they did a prequel episode of Scooby Doo where it turns out Scooby and Shaggy used to have an on/off sexual relationship before they joined the rest of the gang - nothing's ever the same after that. Especially the episodes you've already seen.
  12. To hell with George's overblown toy commercials, my kids will be watching Blade Runner the second "me" becomes a stable concept to them.
  13. See, Russia's a place I'm supportive of having a GP. It makes sense to have one there. There are plenty of Russian viewers, sponsors and at least one Russian competitor. The South Korea GP is just another ill-conceived government vanity project.
  14. Happy Birthday you hard-biting gassy brawling manly men you.
  15. I suppose they've got the additional bursaries & increased loan caps for the less well off and the increase of the level when graduates stat paying money back. Generally though I'm not a fan of the "free market" ideal that the country as a whole has slid so far into over the last twenty years that we seem happy to chuck everything into it's gaping maw. I hope in the future, at some point after the current government, to see an evolution into a modern European style tax & spend philosophy with long term reinvestment in higher education services. A more diverse set of services too rather pandering to some vague desire to set up more universities then anybody actually needs.
  16. Red Bull have done one of those CGI-demonstration jobs for the upcoming Korean GP: "Kind of a city circuit, if all the architects' plans are realised in the future."
  17. Good race. Feel gutted for Hamilton, he did everything right but lady luck wasn't with him. Would've been a great fight between him and Alonso near the end. The McLaren's definitly improved but it's going to be a big ask for anyone to take it from either Red Bull.
  18. Yeah, I really like Lee McKenzie. If Jake ever gets moved on to even bigger and better things (as the BBC seems to be grooming him for) Lee would be a great replacement with her easy-going, slightly more journalistic style of presenting. Hamilton is getting a 5-place penalty for changing a faulty gearbox. It seems to be bad luck followed by good luck - if qualifying had gone ahead after all he'd almost certainly be sitting at the back of the grid having had to change it anyway. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9076871.stm
  19. Thank god I didn't get up early for that. It's Lee McKenzie I feel sorry for - finally gets the limelight and has to spend it trying to fill 2-hours of flat out nothing.
  20. You start at one end of the table and I at the other. It'll be like some kind of morbidly-obese version of Lady and the Tramp.
  21. I work in a store. We're required by law to ID everyone we sell age restricted products to we think or know is under the age of 25. If I don't ID someone who turns out to be underage I risk a £5k fine, a criminal record and the store could have it's license revoked. Also, angry gargoyles fly out of the till and rape me live on national television. So stop looking shocked when I ask you for ID, motherfuckers. Well it's not their fault if you have the taught, supple body of a child.
  22. They should do a remake of the first game with the mechanics from the second game and wrap the whole thing in a trilogy box set sometime. That would be deliriously tempting even to someone who already owned and fully enjoyed all three games.
  23. Gamey, with raisins on top.
  24. Alcohol. Cake. Cake. Alcohol. Mice pie. Cake. Alcohol. Dinner. Alcohol. Dr Who Christmas Special with some alcoholic cake. Alcohol. Alcohol. Mince Pie. Alcohol. Bed.
  25. I probably should get the jab soon, don't fancy a flu making my asthma any worse then it is.
