Unless Sony or Microsoft pull out something spectacular or Ninty really fluff it, Nintendo stealing the show seems to be a foregone conclusion this year.

I certainly hope not but there's no denying the more open form of the Playstation would is a much more natural fit for an MMO project of this type.

I'm pretty uneasy about this, planning a Grand Prix in a country that has used live ammo and foreign soldiers and is still using violent police tactics against it's own people who just want their voice heard. Quite apart from the morality of it I can only imagine what the security is going to be like to make sure nothing kicks off. There's a whole nation of people out there who wouldn't hold the success and safety of a motor race over their own democratic rights and I wouldn't blame 'em.

IGN have had a chance to play a demo and have a preview. Apparently it's quite good.

I just don't feel there's any need to be hostile to the prospect of a service like this. I genuinely think it's a sound business idea that's going to appeal to quite a large number of COD gamers. I think it's going to work because it's not going to put a paywall in the middle of the basic multiplayer experience and offers features specifically tailored to gamers who might want to become more deeply invested in the game. Call of Duty's fan base being so vast even a tiny fraction of everyone currently play Black Ops signing up to a nominal subscription represents a significant payback, while the rest of us will still be dipping our gun barrels in every other weekend and probably won't even notice a difference.

November 15th? This is shaping up to be an expensive winter.

I don't currently own the game but I'm assuming BHP is "Break Horse Power", which is a measure of how powerful the engine is. Obviously you'll want to balance that up against how heavy the vehicle is and what you want to use it for.

So basically, social networking, video sharing, advanced stats features, competitions and map packs for a nominal subscription? That's actually kinda cool, you'd have to be in the hardcore COD set to make the most of it though. Throw in some new hats and Activision are gonna make a mint.

I just don't believe it. It's like the universe at large has decided, for whatever reason, that Vettel is it's favourite anything ever. He literally can't loose. Within a lap of losing his tires entirely against the chasing pack the race simply stops, handing him a fresh set to leave him in 1st and his nearest championship rival left to have a fight with the stewards over an Ali G reference on top of everything else. Things could not have gone more Vettel's way if the whole thing had been scripted.

Dammit all, everything that could've done wrong did for Lewis and he's the only one who's looked even close to matching Vettel all season. Hopefully Button or Webber can dig deep and find something to beat Vettel. We've had lots of great racing this year, just not enough of it for first place. Also thank goodness Perez is ok. I'm not head over heels for it either, though I'm sure it'll be great. MW2 wasn't as good as MW (honestly, go back right now and play it - that game is so good it's scary) but in between them, Battlefield, Medal of Honor and all the other games trying to capture the zeitgeist, the entire modern-military aesthetic has been beaten to something pretty close to death. I'd still love to play it, the set pieces in MW2 although exhaustingly paced were tremendously entertaining and this looks set to continue that. However, in a year that's already seen inventive titles like Portal 2 and LA Noire dominate the cultural mainstream, including far beyond the gaming culture, it feels oddly like I'm looking back to something rather then looking forward.

I hate this whole thing people love to hide behind of "Oh, I was only joking! Can't you tell? Silly you!" as if it's up to everyone else to come round to their frankly tragic idea of humour. If you're in a room full of people and and no one is laughing that's the big clue that you need to stop, and probably should have done several minutes ago. He was probably the sort of person who had no problem murdering many millions of people in bombing raids and gas chambers because of their race, sexuality or beliefs along with anyone of any organisation who dared speak out against him. On the other hand he was a vegetarian. So you know, swings and roundabouts.
