Oh dear. This is going to be a difficult season for me, clearly.

Make sure it's not raining again on your birthday...

Happy Birthday, resident Kitteh Lady! Let the KittehFest commence! -
Just got back from celebrating my cousin's wedding over the last couple of days with the rest of the extended family. Wore a suit I had going unused in closet, I looked like a sexy-as-fuck stock broker. We also managed to get to the beach for the first time in four years. Good times all around.

It's already looking and sounding fantastic though I may skip this one, being on a budget and still having plenty to suck out of '10. This does look like a significant improvement in a lot of different ways though. Keep up the good work, Codemasters.

Oh. Awesome.

I'll take a sexy number one on the lucky dip their Haden.

It's not worth it Dan. Something has obviously killed him, killed him dead and cold inside of him, and there's nothing you can do. There's nothing anyone can do. Walk away. Walk away and find someone who can still be saved.

I think you made the better call. Silverstone should be good though. It's a bit of an odd season really, it's disappointing one driver winning it all but the racing has still been fantastic. I also understand it was Nico's birthday today. 26 years old and still fabulous.

They'll still push all the way, it's what they do, but they clearly have to be realistic. Unless Silverstone reveals the new off-throttle restrictions to be a huge game changer (and all the speculation is it would actually help, not hinder Red Bull overall) the whole Championship is as good as gone. The racing will almost certainly be excellent again, throughout the rest of the season - for second place and below, at least. Anyway, went to see Senna yesterday - I think I didn't quite get as much out of it as I should have. I went in expecting a documentary which it really isn't - it's actually a drama made out of archive footage edited together, with a specific narrative it's selling to you and requires a greater suspension of disbelief then most documentaries normally would ask for. Wonderful film though. Also whoever composed the score deserves the BAFTA, the Oscar and the Nobel Prize. Audio EDIT: Composer was Antonio Pinto. Somebody give that man a fucking medal.

Well that was a good sleep. I don't hate Vettel but he's a very very dull driver to watch. He's a bloody good driver, I don't even mind him winning so much, but I do wish he'd do something interesting while he was about it.

I can't say I'm expecting a thriller tomorrow. Just gotta sleep through it and hope to wake up before Silverstone. Also, Good News!/JamesMay My local Odeon has suddenly scheduled a showing of Senna and I've hitched a ride with my best bud (a.k.a martinist, who as you may know is not a consummate F1 fan) to go see the movie tomorrow, public transport in these parts being so scheduled as it may as well not be. I've agreed to buy his ticket and anything he wants from the snack stand as a thank you. *actual picture, tomorrow.

Screw you and your well deserved success! *runs away with shattered self-worth* Naw, I kid. Gratz!

Whoo promotion! Terrible final game though. Survival is my only objective for next season.

I recently started playing Halo Reach and I feel Bungie pretty gave the whole franchise a good swan song with it (although I get the distinct impression they'd rather have walked away after 3). The first Halo game is a fantastic game but this, plus an entire post-Fight trilogy with Kinect jammed into the middle of it all, it's pretty clear Microsoft are just going to beat this horse to death now and they don't care who knows it. Pop me out of the cryo tube when Bungie come back with their space-shooter MMO or whatever it is they're up to.

Gasp! Does Beanie know of your infidelity?

Yep, that's the whole debate on the other side - sponsors prefer free-to-air wherever possible to get maximum exposure. I understand that in some other territories is a pay-channel pays up front for the full live race and there's a repeat or highlights program on free-air later, so if the BBC has to drop it we'll probably end up with that sort of arrangement.

The BBC team have taken to the twitters to assure viewers that the article "has inaccuracies" which is the polite BBC way of saying "is bullshit." Fans and commenters examining the article elsewhere have been less conflict averse. Apparently most if not all of the viewing & fee figures are under and over estimated, presumably pulled straight out of someone's asshole. Only thing to do is keep tuning in and keep hoping it survives the budget cuts.

News: Mass Effect 3 "strongly rumoured" to feature 4-player Co-op mode. My only question is "why?" Anyway, various other interesting tidbits that have been floating around in the last few weeks if you've missed them - - Helmets can be toggled to "on" "off" or "off in conversations only" - New tech means better and more varied hair-dos will be available - Better squad armour customisation - Weapons are customisable, some with up to 5 modules, including squad weapons - Powers can be evolved multiple times - The whole game is designed to minimise the number of loading screens - There will be fully developed gay & lesbian relationships to play out in ME3, though it's unclear if that means new LIs or not - Female Shepard will feature on the Collectors Edition box and in an upcoming trailer The "Confirmed Features" thread on the BioWare forums is worth a perusal.

Keep up the good work dude, someone gotta show those blasted Octoroks their place!

Hot damn, a win for me and a draw for happenstance gives some breathing space but the last promotion spot is still on a knife edge - all I need is a draw but it's going to be a tough, pivotal game Friday.

Kubica was recently photographed out and about for the first time in a while and, well, ouch.
-
Happy Birthday you red hot hunk.

Who knows, maybe with this season's tires we may get lucky and get a decent spectacle, so fingers crossed.

That was awful, right up until the point it became FUCKING BRILLIANT. I feel like I spent four hours waiting for about 15 minutes of racing - luckily it was 15 minutes of the best racing in the history of F1. Way to go Jenson, good to see Vettel's human after all. Fantastic, utter brilliance. Gutted Schumi didn't get a podium after all his good work in the damp conditions, there was some spark of the old master there. It was also a pretty good example of why being a Hamilton fan is simultaneously as thrilling and wondrrful as it is painful and contentious. It's a good thing he did all he did really, we would have ended up with more improvised Springwatch then would have been tolerable. I remain loyal.
