Dang, that's awful. Hope your Dad is back up and running ASAP. =(

Holy hell, a 10 in Edge, a publication who I generally hold to have the last word in any discussion. I'll be getting absolutely nothing done when this comes out. In between this, Battlefield 3, Ace Combat and Mass Effect 3 on it's way next year I feel positively spoiled.
-
Demo confirmed for January - it will have both single & multiplayer sections and early access to the multiplayer section will be available to anybody who activates the Battlefield 3 online pass on any platform. A tool will be posted on the Mass Effect website that will let you check that your early access to it has been activated via your EA account. Fucking awesome. http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/324/index/8554052/1

Nine days folks. Nine days. Karkland's looking mighty spiffy these days I must say.
-
Phew, 2-0 in the big game against Mcoy - that puts me 6 pts ahead and one step closer to my first ever silverware.
-
I have absolutely nothing good to say about any element of the recent Transformers trilogy - I will say however that Jason Statham would be a vast improvement on Shia LeBeouf and would be in any production you could think of.

You know that big military FPS you've all been waiting for? Yeah, fuck that:

Really damn good race - shame Vettel toddled off with the win yet again but I think McLaren wrung everything there was out of their race. It was clearly the second best car in Korea and it's a testament to Lewis' racing ability that he was able to keep Webber behind for the best part of 20 laps, producing some great wheel-to-wheel moments. I think he should be very pleased with himself today. I'll have to read up on Alonso's race, we didn't see a lot of him but I need to know where on earth he found that pace in the final stint - a truly quality performance, looking at the numbers.

Remember kids, don't eat too many apples, or you'll get a wicked bad "tummy ache".

Right now I think he's just focused - he knows tomorrow is when it counts so he's just keeping it under wraps until the finish line. The second he crosses that in 1st he'll probably explode inside his own helmet.

Ace Combat Assualt Horizon - Now with 20% of your RDA of helicopters

That was quick - the first couple of mission took me a good hour or so to get through alone. How long is the campaign roughly? -
Yes, nice one, no Red Bull on pole. Lewis is looking great this weekend, lets hope his good run continues through tomorrow. I will be up early. Anyway, that kid who makes those awesome motorsport videos is at it again, and it's another stunner. Enjoy -

Played the first couple of levels and I really like what they've done here. Choosing a lightly armed but maneuverable craft over a more heavily armed attack plane now makes sense - the tutorial seen in the demo leads by the hand much more then I expected. It's a genuine struggle to keep up with some of the targets in the dog fight mode and even advanced target missiles are useless in some instances, and this is only on normal difficulty. Loving it so far. -
Oof, Alonso's crash still scares the hell out of me, that could have been very very serious. Anyway, I'll be watching qualifying on iPlayer, having work in the afternoon and all. Also, guess who's picture this is that I stumbled across - Just throwing that out there.

I'm quite honestly done with the entire Star Wars franchise as universe I want to invest any time, money or energy in. George has butchered it completely beyond repair by now and he'll keep right it for as long as people still go out to by the "limited special edition" DVDs & toys. I have the unmolested original movies on VHS but I can't even be bothered with those anymore. The final death knell for me was halfway through Attack of the Clones where Ewan McGreggor (still putting a brave face on it god bless him) walks off the mean streets of the republic capital into a New York diner car, complete with nasally West-Side robot waitress. The scene was pointless, idiotic and completely out of place in the Star Wars universe. So why put it in there? Well, here's the fucking action figure - And that's about it. Star Wars was always a giant toy commercial really but it at least tried to tell a story. But George has realized everyone's still buying into it anyway, and why would you bother with whole bunch of narrative bullshit when you can just cram as much plastic crap as you can down their throats for a couple of hours?

Looking forward, should be with me Friday hopefully - reviews have been very positive though there does seem to be some mixed opinion - most have given an 8/10 but one or two have been dumping on it. Eurogamer & Gametrailers gave it an 8, and that's good enough for me. -
BLOW UP ALL OF THE THINGS

Casey Hudson detailing the multiplayer (spoiler free) in this vid. They do seem like they're trying to do something, not just jamming it in there. Having an Asari, Drell or Salarian character in play in some way definitely interests me - I hope this leads to non-human starring characters in later games in the franchise.
-
I'll see how it fits in and if I want to use it for my main save. I love the idea of playing a Salarian character though. Feeling a bit odd about spreading the methods of progression across multiple different... things.

All the finer points are here if you haven't seen them already - a 7 year deal, with the BBC getting 10 Grand Prix a year (including all practice & quali sessions) with the British GP, the Monaco GP and final round all guaranteed. The BBC highlights will be available on all the usual platforms (ie. no restrictions for putting them on iPlayer). http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9550930.stm I think a silver lining is it might actually increase interest in the sport if the BBC start putting the highlights package out in prime time on BBC1 or 2, instead of back on BBC3. Thanks to the rain delay in Canada most of the race took place after 7pm on a main channel, so almost everyone saw at least some part of Button's magnificent victory. Even in my small store in a Scottish village old ladies were yammering about the next day as if they were life long fans.
-
The new BBC/Sky deal extends until 2018 I believe. I've got a couple of decent sports bars in walking distance, reckon it could be quite nice to sit with a pint. Otherwise I've still got Radio 5. I most certainly do not have the money for a sports package and I probably wouldn't spring for it if I did - besides F1 most of the events I ever actually want to see are on terrestrial anyway (Six Nations, World Cup etc.)
-
Drop-in co-op would be fantastic. Horde mode would be sort of pointless. A deamth match mode would just be bizarre. So long as the main game is intact, I don't think I'll care. I don't think anybody would. Which is what makes this so odd, really.

Nothing a couple of Stingers won't fix.
