  1. Happy Birthday good sir! Or thing... you. How does one address a household appliance?
  2. Nice choice of image there Retro. Six world champs on the grid next year is gonna be epic! Also, here are the car launch dates so far confirmed - McLaren, 1 February, Woking Ferrari, 3 February, Maranello Force India, 3 February, Silverstone Sauber, 6 February, Jerez Red Bull, 6 February, Online Can't wait just to see what they've cooked up for this year.
  3. Don't worry about it. You still got game, yo. Audio
  4. I've taken the "medium" difficulty Route 2, which means going through a Masters and a slightly dull lava level, but it should give a better approach on the final boss with a higher score to show for it. Still looking for the secret level full of bonus upgrades and score multipliers though. After that it's starting again on Route 3 to really put my acquired skills to a proper test and earn the reward. Admittedly you are playing the equivalent of a hardcore Japanese dungeon crawler with "Ultra Edition" epic-level monsters requiring non-stop 57 button-hyper-combos for basic enemies, compared to everyone else's hack-n-slash Tolkien tie-in inexplicably published by EA Sports.
  5. Oi. Everyone's going to have to excuse me a moment. Many manly tears are coming...
  6. Williams confirms Bruno Senna will race for the team in F1 in 2012 I'm happy for Bruno but I'm going to miss Rubens. =(
  7. So this cropped up on Tumblr - Yes.
  8. For a second there I thought you were revealing your bedroom roleplay. Happy Birthday Flink! But please stop being so beautiful, it's positively disgusting.
  9. Presented without comment, only with a vague, gurgling sound as I froth at the mouth with glee.
  10. Oh crap, another season spent staring into the inevitable maw of demotion yet again - despite managing to beat perennial favorite Oddy again. Seriously, how does that keep happening?
  11. We don't know it for a fact but there's no smoke without fire. THQ's been struggling for a while but they've got assets - I reckon they'll auction themselves off piece by piece over the next couple of years. I am also rather disappointed, I was rather looking forward to seeing that 40k MMO.
  12. This makes baby Jesus cry.
  13. Actual thing I said to a customer today while handing him his change, after he started getting uppity about having to show ID for a lighter. He gave me an odd look and left without saying anything else. I won't lie: I feel quite pleased with myself. New to MTV: Pimp My Kitteh!
  14. Some bad news while we're here: Come back to us soon please Robert.
  15. I haven't seen it but I love this speech from the recent Rocky movie. It's simple but it makes sense and Stallone really looks like he's throwing himself into it. My favourite speech of recent times though has to be Obama's "A More Perfect Union" speech, arguably the defining moment of his campaign. Just as a scandal around his old preacher threatened to besmirch him he stepped right up and blew everyone away with this - perfect in timing, theme and delivery. It's 37 minutes long and I still find every second spell binding.
  16. The phrase "sick pad" in the modern Americanised sense springs to mind. Your little shelf in Bournemouth looks like the most pleasant little nest anyone could hope for, I couldn't be more jealous. Flat 2 for two - sounds like the start of something wonderful. Also, now that I look at it you're just on the other side of the Isle of Wight from me. We should meet up there and sink it or something.
  17. I think if you've got something genuinely interesting it should get it's own thread and to hell if doesn't generate much discussion - it won't get locked just because of that. Otherwise we're creeping back to the old times when people just dumped everything into a single burning Leviathan where nothing got really discussed and constricted the rest of the forum. If I was a mod I'd have probably torn out the handful of posts about quantum levitation videos into their own thread already. Hell, anything above-average funny should probably get it's own thread, so long a people don't blatantly misuse it - I think this one should be renamed the "Mildly-Amusing Thread" or something similar.
  18. Pusheen - Just like us!
  19. Lets get married Coolness. Lets get married and live in a small house by the sea and do nothing but watch animations from around the world, write stories together and choke ourselves with mouthfuls of Harribo and gummy bears, 'till all our days have passed and all we have left is our smiles and the sound of the waves beyond the hill.
  20. Ah christ, this cropped up on Tumblr a few hours ago and now I can't stop listening to it. I've been through about 20 bad fan AMVs now and heard it in 5 different languages. This is what being a porn addict must be like.
  21. Haven't played a huge amount released this year, but here's what I have covered by hook or by crook - LA Noire - A total delight that deservedly captured the publics attention, great design and a mesmerizing use of the facial technology that really made you feel part of the story. Superb use of setting and performances throughout. A bold step forward Portal 2 - Another Valve stunner, breathtakingly gorgeous all over with fiendish puzzles and a story as humorous as it is utterly, bleakly nihilistic. Incredible sound design. A breathtaking sequel to the world-beating original Dirt 3 - Codemasters stay at the top of their game with a beautifully rendered and incredibly enjoyable rally game - easy to pick up, tough to master and rarely less then thrilling. Recommended for everyone Ace Combat: Assualt Horizon - delivered everything it promised and more with a maniacally bombastic campaign mode that finally divorced the franchise totally from the stodgy mechanics of previous iterations. The campaign was perhaps short and needed more variety but made it with it's great dogfighting mechanics and non-stop action. What surprised was a superb, fresh multiplayer mode that deserves more recognition. Top Gun fans rejoice Battlefield 3 - The campaign was an admirable attempt for something more nuanced but ultimately disappointed with little to stand-out. The multiplayer is as involving and entertaining as ever, providing more crazy & epic moments per game then other online game I've ever played. For multiplayer aficionados only - but they're in for a real treat. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Astonishingly beautiful, incredible soundtrack, impeccably designed dungeons and motion controls that actually work and make a difference to the game play. Among the best in the series, bringing with it that hypnotic "just five more minutes" effect that marks out the truly great games. Nintendo at their very best Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - An unprecedented technical accomplishment that holds magnificently even on dated console hardware. It's looks fantastic. It sounds fantastic. It's quests are without exception engaging, interesting and superbly produced. You could spend a full year in it's vast, varied, open world and not find everything. This game is an accomplishment that may not be equaled for years to come. Biblical
  22. That sounds fantastic. I'll bring the chianti, you provide lots of tasty of things on sticks. Later me and Daft will fight to the death for your amusement. Seriously though, congratulations you two! Enjoy that unique south coast bluster.
  23. Congratulations! Here's some gold to help you on your way... *120XP* *200 gold received*
  24. I'm game. Who's left?
  25. Currently in my room but I think I will pop out and see what is anything is going on. I'm all by myself in the house anyway and I've got a little bit of hard Christmas cash in my wallet in need of spending. Worst case scenario - not much happens and I head home for a semi-reasonable night. Or I get drunkenly assaulted. Y'know, whatever.
