  1. Only 27? You still have time to flee! Quick, knock him out with a bathroom fixture and go found the offshore art colony you were obviously meant to! Nah just kidding. Happy Birthday you diamond! NOW RUN!!!!
  2. Oh, maybe that explains the hats?
  3. New Lotus E20 is now official launched - definitly one of the better lookers. Good to see Kimi hasn't lost his impeccable taste in hats.
  4. Just checked, they actually launch Sunday 5th at 5PM. They can't get 'em out fast enough.
  5. Monday 6th, along with Sauber and Torro Rosso. Testing starts the day after, when Williams will also reveal theirs.
  6. I'm gonna guess some may be upset by this. An maybe this too.
  7. Maybe it's telling you something. You should "accidentally" leave this playing loudly on your headphones near his desk and see if he gets uncomfortable. Audio
  8. That super-secretive exhaust cover is interesting, they've got something under there. Car looks good enough standing still, now to wait to see it in motion. Here's it and last years contender in profile, looks like a clear evolution but with one or two quite distinct differences.
  9. Yeah, reading the history of the 1976 season and all the personal/political stuff is pretty fascinating. Seems there was a lot of typically F1-political shennanigans around Lauda & Hunt with contentious marshal decisions going one way or the other. The story of 76 season is pretty incredible itself - Lauda with a massive championship lead over Hunt, crashes at the 'Ring (where he had voted against driving over safety concerns - all the other drivers voted against him) burning him so badly he was read his last rites - only to make a racing comeback six weeks later, eventually losing by a single point to Hunt. Also Williams will be revealing their new vehicle in time for the 1st test after all, on the 7th with it's Renault engine - here's hoping it'll prove to be a good omen.
  10. Yeah, those Muppets still got it.
  11. It's going to be a cinematic drama rather then a Senna-style documentary thing. Lauda is being played by Daniel Brühl, who was excellent in Goodbye Lenin, and James Hunt is being played by Chris Hemsworth (Thor) so there's plenty of reasons to be positive.
  12. Here's something a little bit exciting. This is a 1976 Mclaren M23 at the Nurburgring for filming of RUSH, Ron Howard's new movie about the rivalry & relationship between Niki Lauda & James Hunt. Hopefully this'll be a return to form for Howard who originally started in auto movies, can't wait to see it. http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2012/01/16/ron-howard-filming-rush-nurburgring-nordschleife/mclaren_m23_nord_rush_2011-11/
  13. It's on your EA/Origin account I believe. That's how they know who gets early multiplayer demo access.
  14. Happy Birthday! Here, have a drink -
  15. Tumblr: A wonderful, magical place where dreams really do come true.
  16. But decades from now it'll be the Red Bull with pride of place in the museum, splashed across sports books and ogled in wistful sports articles and blog posts. So will the 2008 Mclaren '23, which looks like an Airfix kit threw up on it but it won the championship, and so it sits on it's own pedestal. The disastrous 2009 entry looked like a smooth sci-fi arrow but can't be forgotten quickly enough. Aesthetics are all very well but beautiful looks and beautiful engineering aren't the same thing. You can appreciate form but in F1 function is the be-all and end-all. Your car can be sculpted like a lithe Greek goddess but if it's waddling around the back of the pack like an obese hippo it'll never look uglier. Conversely a car can have a bulbous nose, obtuse sidepods or obscene fin tail but if it wins it'll be the one everyone wants to get to know, to study, to pin on the wall and stare at. It'll be the car that people associate with victory, triumph and glory - a wonky nose won't change that.
  17. Everyone's complaining how "ugly" it is but a race car's beauty is directly proportional to success as a race car, because race car. Let it compete first, then we'll find out exactly how beautiful it is. Besides, odder things have happened.
  18. Guess who's back, back again. Guess who's back, tell a friend. Audio This is also now Kimi's official theme song, by decree of me.
  19. I'm officially on a ME3 News Blackout until it's release. I will play the demo but I'll be sticking to just the multiplayer, can't wait to see just what the combat's like.
  20. Okay, but what's that horrible, unwashed hobo doing in your... oh.
  21. Good night for a colleague's birthday, went to a fantastic little curry restaurant where you brought your own booze if you wanted any with your meal - the food was both reasonably priced and utterly fabulous. They also order out, which is a service I dare say I will utilize in the near future.
  22. That darn kid's at it again. Also, the new Caterham will be revealed in F1 Magazine on January 26th. Lotus will launch online on February 5th and Torro Rosso confirmed it will be running it's new model at the first test on the 7th. Marussia & Mercedes will run theirs at the 2nd test, with the Merc to be revealed on the 21st of February. Not long to go! Here's the Test calender too if you want it.
  23. Martinist is the best at this thread. The best!
  24. This morning I told a Jehova's Witness there is no God and that we are all an insignificant part of the vast beauty of the universe, but we can still be important to each other. He was very polite. On my way to work I saw a Batmobile made out of a Robin Reliant pick-up. My thighs look fantastic right now.
