  1. That was excellent. I would also like to add Deus Ex: HR to the Euthanised Damsel trope, where in the final section you have to execute 3 women who have been wired into a machine with no option to rescue them. It was a horrid end to an otherwise strong game and left a hideous taste in my mouth. I'm glad she made passing mention these things are incredibly clumsy lunges to engage the player emotionally, we all want video games to be "taken seriously" but I feel a lot of the mainstream stories aren't giving people a lot of tremendous reasons to do so.
  2. Maybe if you stopped being so hopelessly embarrassed by your own talent and passion people would notice it more?
  3. Claim the suspect is your illegitimate child and get excused for being unable to render fair judgement.
  4. So this was this morning's GP2 race at Monaco. In it's entirety.
  5. "Free running"? I'm game until a Mirror's Edge sequel gets released.
  6. Godammit, why isn't that on the regular album?
  7. Not if their tyres behave like they're made out of cheese again, but fingers crossed.
  8. I'm starting to feel like the racing genre might becoming a little over saturated. Like, US military-game levels of over saturated.
  9. Now that I've finally heard it I can say that I think it's fantastic - not quite up with Human After All or Discovery but definitely fantastic & fascinating homage to French disco with at least a couple of real classics. Get Lucky of course will remain the hit of this simmer but my personal favourite is Touch, part sci-fi sound scape and part love anthem. The whole thing is just delicious.
  10. Tumblr just made the excellent point that the Call of Duty series has now given us a playable dog character but not yet a playable female character.
  11. I kind of get the weird impression that effect is deliberate. It looks exactly like a top-end VCR, sort of trying to throwback to the 90's retro image of the media device every home aspired to own.
  12. I am almost amazed at how the managed to talk for an hour and not give over even one iota of information as to how any of it is actually fixed or networked together. One hour and the only thing I got out of that is Mo-Cap Dog. I did really like that mo-cap dog.
  13. Take the top one, Giantbomb are the best bullshit filter I know.
  14. Fast & Furious is to street racing what 50 Shades Of Grey is to BDSM.
  15. I must say I haven't been enamoured with this series but that was a very strong episode to cap it. It's only in the last couple of episodes I really feel Clara's been something other than something talking fast following The Doctor around but she had a real presence here. I thought the visual design was inventive & evocative, the looming spectre of the broken Tardis a powerful ghost in the scenery. I just generally felt they finally used this menagerie of characters they had to somewhere near their full potential and it was just great. The only misstep for me was the weird "Introducing" on-screen credit right at the end. That was a bit weird.
  16. I actually received this a day early but I'm yet to take the clingfilm off - I have very full week ahead, think I might actually wait until after that so I can sit down a put a couple of hours in at least a couple of days in a row. I need to savour it.
  17. I went to see The Great Gatsby, first showing back on Thursday. Never read the book and had seen some poor reviews floating around but I enjoyed it immensely and I left with my suspicions confirmed that too many people just don't understand how Baz Lurhmann works. That's not to say it's perfect, despite all it's superb individual assets - great performances, fantastic soundtrack, intelligent cinematography etc. - the whole doesn't quite manage to gel together the same way some of Baz's earlier films have but it is a film that captures the dark essence of it's story with a lot of fun.
  18. One day I'm going to wake up without this twisting knife-like sensation of anxiety all over me and I am going to have no god-damn idea what to do with myself.
  19. Given how cheap it is I would still urge everybody go grab it - it's flawed, flawed gem of a game that's packed with atmosphere and surprises.
  20. No, no, don't even go there. Don't waste money on suspicious hair-grow crap or horrible toupees. If you've got a receding hairline, rock it. Patrick Stewart, Billy Zane, Vin Diesel, all bald as chickens, all sexy mother fuckers (and your mother would welcome it). Be a sexy mother fucker. Have a receding hairline and rock it.
  21. Solid reviews, more than good enough for me. This would've had to have been a mess to make cancel my pre-order. As flawed as the original was it still sucked me straight in. I just can't wait to get back into that claustrophobic atmosphere of the Russian metro. (Launch trailer)
  22. Audio Fuck yes, Hiatus have a new album out.
  23. Ah, got the job done at last. So where have you hidden the body?
  24. Oh, stop worrying and go enjoy yourself. Buy a nice T-shirt and go out dancing. Find one with a funky nuveau Pokeball design on it from Redbubble or something. If you hit it off with someone, great. Bare minimum you'll get some good dancing in. Or bad dancing. It's all fun.
  25. And I'll keep telling you I'LL GET ROUND TO IT EVENTUALLY DAMMIT!
