Thanks Danny. To be honest it sort of took me by surprise as well. I've been feeling this anxiety/depression/whatever coming and going for years now (though more so recently) and the whole thing just suddenly seemed to snap in one go over something quite minor. Maybe, hopefully, this'll be the one incident I have but I am feeling shaken by it. Until about 10:30 this morning self-harm was a problem somebody else had. I have been pushed back across my own borders. Anyway, told my mum who phoned the NHS non-emergency service who told me to go have it checked out at the emergency room. Burns are too narrow to treat anyway, so day mostly wasted. Told the doc it was self-harm, he said he'll have a letter sent to my regular GP so hopefully something might come out of it eventually.

Ah crap, had a breakdown this morning because I'd forgotten to check my uni email for two and a bit weeks (again) and found I've totally missed a tutorial (again) and ended up self-harming with a steel pot lid heated on the stove. Now my right arm is doing a passable impression of danish back bacon. I haven't seriously damaged myself but I'm completely incredulous to my own anxiety over a course I've got zero-reason to be stressed over and this self-harming is a new business. I think I'll call my mum tonight. And then go buy some bacon.

I have developed a serious crush on Jane Russell (and I'm much happier for it.)

I've never understood why Killzone has been adopted as the posterboy for the Playstation platform. Killzone 2 is one the blandest game experiences I've ever sampled, while 5 consecutive minutes of Ratchet & Clank almost made me go home and smash my 360 with a hammer.

Happy Birthday you grand stalwart! Also, after reading the thread title, I'm disappointed that nobody's posted this:

I'll never understand how I became to be so god damn good looking. Sometimes I feel depressed but then I look in the mirror and it's like *pow*. I don't like going out much and I genuinly suspect I'm denying other people a genuine pleasure. I'm not interested in having kids and yet but there's a part of me that sincerely believes I need to breed with somebody as a service to wider humanity.

Who on earth pre-orders console hardware at Blockbusters?

You forgot "seduce sensuously".

I've just learned Peter Dinklage is the voice of "The Ghost" orb-mcjigger you have with you. Sold.

This would all be more interesting if she was the protagonist for the whole game, but I'll take the missions.

The theme from the 1st game "Still Alive" had a whole official mix compilation. True to form, somebody has already taken the soundtrack from the trailer and mixed that. Audio It's all off to a good start.

Happy Birthday! Now I know who's been agitating the crowds around Fratton during home games.

The Morning After - E3 Nintendo Direct Verdict
gaggle64 replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I left mostly satisfied but I did feel it was all rather too safe. Everything they showed looks great and I'm glad there's at least a handful of 3rd party support coming but I do hope to see something more refreshing from the Nintendo stand later this year. Absolutely no denying everything they brought looks like tremendous fun however. -
UP - A Masterpiece or Massively Overrated?
gaggle64 replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
UP is a wonderful film. I don't think it's quite a full-bloodied classic but the opening sequence is a superb piece of narrative cinema that you don't expect to see in mainstream movie making and especially not in a kid-friendly family film. The central character relationship is richly realised and it spins very naturally into it's eventual conclusion as a story of mourning. I think it's only problem is the pacing is slightly too gradual for a lot of the movie and it never really offers a true sense of peril, but these are minor issues in an evocative film with a rare emotional complexity. -
There is a lot of super-scary-gory AC Villager fanart on tumblr right now. It's glorious. His unofficial theme tune is Fortuna Imperatrix, naturally.

I want to be more enthused by it then I am but I'm not quite getting into it yet. Too Halo-alike in it's aesthetic perhaps?
-
This rather piqued my interest and I did not expect it to. I'm not totally immune to some Tom Clancy ridiculousness in any form.
-
Probably a dumb question, is there going to be cross platform multiplayer between the two versions of the game?
-
Must play the first one soon, but there's something a little perverse about some of those pan shots (even by video game standards.)

Please have some decent online this time, that's all I want.

This looks pretty juicy. Then again, I'm a sucker for big robots in any form.

Superb. All of it superb. Only the DRM issue leaves me baffled (in comparion to the Xbox One), I'm genuinely surprised Sony were not apparently press ganged into it to maintain relationships with major publishers like Microsoft claim they were. I'd love to see the meeting minutes that resulted in both of those decisions.

Faith does sort of need an overhaul as a character - I'm glad they've kept her basic design, I hope they make her a more positive force with the same themes. I also feel particularly comfortable for having a female producer guiding the general direction.

Nope, still not interested. I'll stick with Red Orchestra if I want military combat. They're still throwing new maps for free at that thing. Take your DLC seasons and shove it.

The only bit I'll argue is not needing story story - the Mirror's Edge concept is brilliant. It's a safe & prosperous democratic world but where information, communications & data is tightly controlled & monitored by both state and companies and open dissent is brutally suppressed. Unfortunately the story of the first game was naff and didn't develop those things at all well, which is a hideous shame because it was basically 5 years ahead of the game. It absolutely needs it's story, it needs a better story.
