Paul Jewell has stepped down as manager of Wigan. Also, what does everyone think of the new Premiership Lettering? I felt it was about time for a change, quite like the new style Old: New:

*high five* ..haven't played Kororinpa, but I pretty much agree with you on the whole there. I think things will be a lot more clear in a year (maybe two years) time. I still feel as if we are in the transition period between generations where, going by what you say, XBox 360 and PS3 seem to be giving out games we have been basically able to play for the last 5 years, but with flashier graphics (at the minute). The Wii, dare I say it, has on many occasions been giving us what we have been able to play for the last 5 years without flashier graphics and, in several instances, a tacked on control scheme. Somewhere down the line, things are likely to push on. The Wii won't be getting so many PS2 games with Wii controls- the PS2 will be phased out and (hopefully) the Wii shall be standing on its own two feet. Developers should be implementing new ideas and making great use of the Wii controls, building things from the ground up. In my opinion, the Wii really is an excellent prospect and I love not knowing what we are going to get any more. If you buy a racing game- you know how it's gonna play. Football game- you know. Fighting- you know. With the Wii, this isn't true. You don't pick up a joypad and go.. oh, racing game here- A must be accelerate, B to brake.. Analogue Stick to steer. There's a sense of the unknown, a freshness.. (damn, I'm sort of forgetting where I'm going here.. ) ..anyway.. I'm sure the PS3 and XBox 360 will have it's fair share of great games, but I'm glad the Wii is going a different direction and we don't know where it will end up. Nintendo have, in my opinion, certainly made games a much more interesting prospect this generation than it would otherwise have been.. (I kinda lost where I was going with that.. but I hope at least someone understands what I'm getting at )

I'm am still undecided, even after reading ONM a ltitle earlier. I felt it didn't really go into enough detail about anything. However, if I can get my brother on board then I predict I will bite the bullet and preorder the game next week from Play.com. If that is the case, then definitely count me in for a tournament as I would really like that!

..yeh, I agree.. things certainly seem to be on the up! Never played Rygar before, but just looked up about it there now and think it could be interesting. Another game for me to keep an eye on.. and another game I feel Nintendo wouldn't have got if it had chosen the same path as Sony or Microsoft..

..as shall I.. I really need to convince myself with this game. I also hope they haven't employed the cheating AI tactic to make it harder. I was concerned about scoring in the GC version as, although I only ever played it in multiplayer a couple of times and never owned it, scoring seemed a bit random a lot of the time and I was never sure if there was any particular technique behind it.

What the Hecky Thump Are You Doing Up?
nekunando replied to Marshmellow's topic in General Chit Chat
..buying a boxed Mariokart 64 on ebay for £9.51. Has the manual and all looks to be in fantastic condition! I already have the game but some guy I lent it to a few years ago lost the box and manual on me (somehow) so when I saw I may get this for a very good price I snapped it up! I enquired in CeX how much they would give me for a MK64 cartridge a few weeks ago and I was told £6 cash or something like £9 store voucher. If I take the money (likely), it'll mean I just bought a box and manual for £3.31 (though I have probably just increased the value of the overall game by more than that anyway) If I take the voucher (which will be £10 if I fill in a store leaflet), I would have to find something worthwhile to buy in the shop. Probably will take the money, but I have a few days to think about it.. it's too late for thinking now -
Virtual Console - All you need to know

..that's all? Luckily, I'm not overly bothered about downloading anything just at the minute as I have plenty of games to be getting on with.. and a couple of games on the Way for my birthday (thank you magicbuttons : peace:) If I was bothered though, I probably wouldn't be feeling all that impressed.. Having said that, I have no idea what Ninja Spirit is so wouldn't like to judge without knowing the facts.. -
..I have to say I miss it too.. it always felt good that even though exams were coming up there was E3 to look forward to, and everything that comes with it. I almost looked forward to it more than my birthday in May..

I was never totally convinced by Zenden either (and actually think this will be his last season at Liverpool). However, I thought he was very good against Chelsea in the 2nd Leg of the semi-final. He and Mascherano were the best players (for me) that night.

..as do I.. was planning on getting ONM tonight (hoping that it was in even though it isn't officially out til tomorrow.. but then subscribers got it on monday..) ..much good in the magazine this month? I'm hoping the Mario Strikers review pushes me over the edge towards getting it as I'm still not totally convinced..

I agree in a way. Cisse looked atrocious down the right wing with his hit and gallop 'style', but then he never was a right wing player and was generally only there because we didn't have decent right wing players at the time. Now we have Pennant and, dare I say it, Gerrard for the right wing. Also, despite playing out of position, Cisse did ok for us in the goal department. I'm not sure when his contract is up, but I would be prepared to give him another chance at Liverpool next season (up front, for crying out loud) and if it doesn't work out, January is there to sell i guess (though maybe not as much as we could get for him now) I don't think Rafa would want that though, he seems intent on getting rid..

..explain to me.. please.. Sorry dude -
..so.. what's going on with Michael Owen then? I understand he should show loyalty to his club but who can blame him or his agents, or anyone involved with him for wanting to get away to a better club. I'm actually hoping something is made of this, and that Owen ends up leaving and returning to Liverpool (providing he stays injury-free!) I know I'm clutching at straws here, and maybe being unrealistic.. but sure Freddy Sheppard is a wanker anyway..

Very True. I traded in 5 games for it back in the day (can't remember which, but there were a couple of decent ones) but I didn't regret it. Really good game.
-
..it does sound a bit different doesn't it ..but perhaps that was just someone else doing that bit for the trailer.. ..and am I the only one who was thinking 'is the "reeesssiidddeeennttt eeeeeviil... fooouurrr" guy gonna come out with 'Wiiiiiiii ediiiiitioooon'?
-
..is it? I thougth it was Xbox360 (but that's just because it is sitting there, even though it isn't plugged in) Hope it is Wii

..from what you wrote at the very start there, it does seem strange that after she met up with her friend that she suddenly didn't know if she still loved you. Paranoia and jealousy are horrendous things and, for me, if my girlfriend starting to do stuff with a guy she hasn't seen for a while (and so regularly) I wouldn't be happy with it either. I'm pretty bad with that sort of stuff and people who say there's no harm in flirting- that's bull, I can't stand it. If someone was trying it on with my girl, I'm not even sure I could have controlled myself as you have. The whole text message thing is a tricky one. Going in and looking without asking probably isn't right, but when you have suspiscion eating away at you, you just sometimes need to know/ see things for yourself. On the other side of the coin, there's shouldn't be anything at all to hide so if you found stuff you didn't like, I feel it was right to bring it up with your girlfriend. That's all tough and I hope I would never have to deal with something like that. I would hate to think I control my girlfriend but we're pretty clear about everything so if something annoys me, she knows about it.. and vice versa. All I can say is good luck man. You are (probably) handling it better than I would. It's difficult to know when you're not in the situation. All the best.

Yeh, I agree.. as long as they didn't (for some reason) change it to turn-based fighting..

..what was the thing in Tekken 5..? The wee adventure with Jin (?).. my brother has the game on PS2 and I played it briefly. The little adventure was awful, but then it wasn't the main focus of the game. I would be happy if whenever you met someone, you were pitched into battle just like a fight from Soul Calibur II (or if you met up with a team of fighters.) ..just recycle the fighting mechanics from Soul Calibur II, throw them into the game and build up a really solid adventure. Would work for me, anyway
-
I saw this last night.. I reckon I will get the magazine for Resident Evil and Mario Strikers Charged Football. I can't decide on which wristband to go for though ..the Zelda one is cool but wouldn't go with anything else I wear (I can't really 'do' black for some reason.. :awesome:) I don't think the Wii one is quite so cool, but then the white will work for me.. ..oh the decisions..
-
..class! I have never been into fighting games but Soul Calibur II has been the exception for me on the GC, it really was very, very good. A Soul Calibur adventure could turn out very good so I'll be keeping an eye on this one

..get a Road Rash game on the Wii.. riding along on your motorbike, steering with the nunchuk and using your Wii Remote to whack your competitors Hopefully this will turn out to be half decent. I like to have a mix of racing games in my collection- like Mariokart, Wave Race, 1080 and F-Zero, plus a rally game and perhaps a GT type game.
