  1. lol, I'm exactly the same. I never bought the game (being a poor kid) and it wasn't big enough to "use" a birthday or xmas on so I just endlessly played the demo from the discs that Official Playstation Magazine gave away. Ahhh those were the days. So easily pleased and, to be fair, treated by classics like MGS and FF7. :p
  2. Bioshock is so 2007.
  3. Hmmm, not impressed at all. That said I don't think this game will have any impact on Crystal Bearers.
  4. Punch Out!! looks ace. Absolutely can't wait for more details on that one. Please have nailed the controls with motion plus and please have some decent online!
  5. Assuming these are cheap I think this is a brilliant idea.
  6. Well done Nintendo - back where they belong at the top. As for the 360 vs PS3 debate - frankly I couldn't care too much. I think the PS3, or rather the playstation brand, deserves to do better. It brough good CONSOLE games - GTA and FF being the obvious ones to the fore in the last generation(s). Microsoft is only getting a slice of that success because of their installed base mainly due to price and an early launch. Other than that both games are a poor man's PC. They rely so heavily on FPS's to sell and that in itself is incredibly sad - they're ALL better on PC. From CoD4 to Orange Box to Bioshock. It's just a shame no one has been able to "dumb down" the presentation of PC specs in a way that could change the platforms over-complicated image.
  7. I've got two wishes. I don't expect either to be fulfilled. New F-Zero or, even better, new StarFox.
  8. I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. However, in terms of the actual game this is completely irrelevant. No one is going to care who made it and with what budget. Ultimately all that matters for The Conduit is how good the game is. Thus it most certainly should be compared to Nintendo efforts and every other developer out there. It's nice to see a dev punching above their weight but this game simply has to cut it or it's all for nothing at the end of the day. Don't get me wrong - I think The Conduit is going to be awesome. But to say that it's unfair to compare it to efforts from wealthier devs is ludicrous.

It's not even in the top 10 on gameplay.co.uk (a fairly "hardcore" website) which is ominous. Most people who buy from there are more educated on what games are actually good. WarioLand is like 3rd though so....
  10. Mario Party could work well. I think you'd surprised how much a 3 year old can pick up. Plus, the kid's only getting older and only going to able to play even more of the games library.
  11. What an awful argument. I don't think I'm going to buy any games atm since their might be a better version in the future......
  12. The thing I want most from this conference is a playable CoD 5 - not seen all that much of the Wii version yet, bar some impressive screens. It's highly likely that the Christmas lineup will be showcased. I imagine Nintendo are thinking that they can now appease the hardcore with Disaster and they will try to get some hype built up around that. Given the nature of the new philosophy of announcements shortly before games hit perhaps this isn't even about Disaster. Perhaps they were following the MP3 marketing route for Disaster - mainly internet (though there have been far more promotional videos) and this event is a different approach to marketing an altogether different title. I hope so as that would be far more exciting! But my hunch is nothing massive, just a showcase of what's coming soon.
  13. Putting is really easy - just be gentle! My whole house has no problems with it at all. I keep getting destroyed on the PGA tour - although my characters stats are badly in need of work!
  14. If this game looks anything near those screenshots when in motion it could possibly be the best looking Wii game so far. Absolutely stunning and I love the art direction.
  15. A well justified and thought out analysis Masse, as ever.
  16. I still just cannot see the appeal of this game in any way. Go play WoW or Warhammer Online or something - you get your community features and you know, some proper game stuff like actual gameplay and quests etc.
  17. Madworld, because of it's style, is more likely to "bomb" - though I doubt SEGA have targeted more than 300k sales or so and it should easily achieve that. The Conduit has way more natural appeal to all sorts of gamers and should sell well - I can see it being a million seller with a little luck, good internet marketing and decent release timing.
  18. Just watched the teaser and the gameplay montage on gametrailers and I absolutely love the concept behind this game. It just seems so epic and exciting - a proper natural disaster game is quite unique. The graphics are definitely better in motion but they're pretty hit and miss which is slightly dissapointing. As is the look of the light gun sections, it's impossible to say for sure without playing it but the impact of hits doesn't look satisfying. Not enough "punch" or anything. Still, I'm optimistic and I'm hopeful.
  19. Not all of us do, I appreciate the Westernisation of the music - I've no interest in anime etc I just like RPGs and good stories.
  20. Added to that Madden is much much stronger in the US than in Euro/Japan. This makes a difference since the 360 is strong in the US when compared to Euro and Japan where the Wii does better still.
  21. I wouldn't write this off, those advanced controls look pretty similar to Pro Evos.
  22. That NCAA screen is absolutely shocking. Look at the crowd, one of the worst efforts I've seen since N64/PS1 days.
  23. Where does all this light gun hating come from? Light gun games absolutely rule, do you people not love Time Crisis and the like? Things would be very boring if all shooters were just FPSs.
  24. I much prefer a good old linear game with a gripping plot, awesome set pieces and good scripted ai. I grew out of non-linear single player games, on the whole, a long time ago as none of them offer true freedom. The closest thing to true freedom is a PC mmo and no single player game has some close to that yet. I think I'm the exception though, I don't even like GTA all that much whilst everyone else heaps praise upon it.
  25. I'm just waiting for Hellfire to read this thread and offer his two (well, more like 200 :p) cents.
