What awesome boxart, really impressed! Really captures that epic, cinematic feel that Nintendo normally fall short of. As do the adverts that also make the graphics seem pretty decent if slightly colourless. I'm started to think this has a chance of being something like Nintendo's MGS.
-
Urgh, 4 wiimotes to just play a 2 player game though. Count me out tbh.
-
I'm not, it looks absolutely awful. This looks extremely good though, please please make it out in early '09!
-
I hope EA get them tbh. EAs online service > Nintendos.

Dissapointing score and criticism. If it really is too easy that's such a game killer for me. A shame really, especially since Eurogamer is the site which I trust by far the most.
-
Hmm, I think Ike and Toon Link are better than middle and Mario is also better than low.
-
Looking a lot better anyway. Nice to see the game lives.

Some people need to brush up on their PC gaming seriously. Call of Duty set the standard for PC fps!?!?!?!?! Jesus christ. Half Life 1 set the standard for single player PC fps - every single game since has been in it's shadow. As for multiplayer PC fps Counter Strike set the standard and even more so than with Half Life every single online fps has been in it's massive shadow. All Call of Duty brought was an alternative, certainly no trend setter. Though it did refine the MoH method of set pieces quite nicely.

They don't compare? :p I'd so much rather have this it's difficult to express in words. I'm probably in the minority on these boards though - in that I hate Animal Crossing and think it's just inferior to any decent MMO as they give you social interaction and something fun to do (like slaying dragons).

In England it's also a little different to your experiences. Wii games are the cheapest with new games retailing £29.99 or £34.99, 360 games are normally £39.99 and PS3 £39.99 or £44.99.

I hope that was a joke. I've never laughed so hard. Halo did NOTHING that FPS on PC hadn't been doing for years prior.

Glad to see you no longer feel that the game looks like an "N64 shooter". I did read your post and you're basically saying that something unique is only worth doing once and thus The Conduit was just another "clone" of those games. It's a rediuclous argument. I mean, come on, the 360 would be dead without FPS's and if you think along your lines then CoD 4 is just another FPS clone when clearly it's not. It's a refined FPS to the point where the quality of the experience is just so much better than what came before. This is exactly the same as with The Conduit. It's potentially the single best example of FPS on Wii, a fledgling genre in itself. Look at one of the most succesful games companies in the business - Blizzard. They have NEVER innovated or done anything unique yet their games are held in extremely high regard. They refine, they improve and they polish to the extent where being unique is irrelevant - it's about making the best RTS in a saturated PC market or the best MMO on the internet. This anaolgy holds true when applied to The Conduit except on Wii the hype surrounding the game is far more understandable as there's very little competition anyway.

Sigh this is tiresome. Whatever you think of the graphics they are GOOD for Wii and that sort of effort should be applauded. If you think otherwise then frankly your an idiot. Doing nothing different? Jesus christ, give us all a break. THE CONTROLS.

lol, Mario and Sonic is pretty decent tbh and besides how could you possibly call Mario and Sonic a "bad game" and then suggest Boogie? :p
-
I'm surprised people are interested in this actually, I think it looks pretty awful. Is this just RPG desperation? Or does Baroque have some merits? I know this doesn't matter greatly to most but the graphics are absolutely awful too which is quite often indicative of a lack of overall effort.

I'm not sure you understant competitive gaming, i.e. esports which is what X-League is. 16 vs 16 has absolutely zero chance of ever being trated seriously - it's too chaotic, too random with that many people. COD4 is normally played 5v5 so the 4v4 thing must be how the Xbox guys do it but the massive esports are always played with small teams. CS is 5v5, UT/Quake and stuff are normally 1v1, maybe 2v2 and even TF2 is only 6v6. Much more skill involved with these smaller teams and proper tactics.

Ouch, beaten in Japan by Too Human.
-
I've ordered this now!

I still need to get GH3 as I nloody love it and then I'll also get GH4 but only the game tbh - not gona bother with the drums and stuff, they're not worth the asking price. I also still need to play Super Paper Mario and Zack and Wiki. Then: -Madworld -The Conduit -CoD 5 -Warioland
-
I would rather not have a different box tbh but then for an extra tenner off... Well I would definitely be swayed. This said - the point about Xbox and PS3 games is not a pricing problem per se. Those games tend to have massive first weeks then drop off completely, hence the price drops. This happens all the time on those two consoles, watch in two weeks when Too Human is like £20-30. Nintendo's "bigger" games seem to have more legs, Galaxy is certainly still in the charts top 20, possibly even TP is too. It's very difficult to drop a game price without a substantial drop in demand.
-
I would agree that Mario Kart Wii is absolutely awesome and it is, for me too, right up there with Goldeneye. Thing is - if they had used to the MK online system for Smash then that would probably be my fave game but as it stands MK edges it.
-
According to GoNintendo this is basically not happening now, they've got a quote from the Capcom guys (I forget his name, maybe Svensson?) saying that it's not even worth commenting upon. This could of course be to knock us off of the scent if they want a big reveal but more likely that the rumour is false.

Anyone who buys this today, give us some first impressions! I'll pick it up next week when I get paid.

Guys, this is out Friday where is the discussion! I'm thinking about getting this one it looks great. IGN Review - 'One of the best golf games we've ever played' http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/905/905978p1.html Apparently the online works brilliantly too.
