The Conduit New Super Mario Bros. Wii Dead Space Wii Sports Resort EA Grand Slam Tennis / Virtua Tennis (depending on which one's better) That said, there's still loads of stuff I want to play and buy that's out now. HOTD:Overkill, Z+W, Little King's Story, Mario and Sonic just to name a few.

Here's hoping. And you're right - well implemented online features are probably the best and most proven way of extending longevity. If only nintendo embraced this too!!

Has this or Virtua Tennis had online play confirmed or denied? I prefer the style of this and I do tend to trust EA over SEGA.
-
<o/ hurrah! This is guaranteed to be at least semi-decent. My only doubt is still whether or not the online will be smooth....

Wii Love Black: New Console Colour For Japan
DazzeL replied to david.dakota's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I really like it in black actually. I would never pay to trade in my white Wii to get one but if I was buying a new Wii at any point I would definitely get the black. Mind you, colours do seem to boost sales quite often - people are fickle! -
I really don't understand where this "older Link" idea came from... It's TP Link, that is all.
-
I expected it to be average if the same game was on pc/360/ps3 but not on the Wii. The controls are enough to make a fairly generic shooter really shine (Heroes 2 as a prime example, which I prefer to all but the cream of the crop of "next gen" fps). We await more reviews. From previews so far though, I don't see IGN scoring this below 8.

I echo those sentiments. I just don't understand how it could be WORSE than CoD3. Makes little sense to me. I'm baffled and a little worried by this one. We await more reviews.....

Wii Vitality Sensor... Are you having a laugh!
DazzeL replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I have to agree with the majority here, I just can't see a practical use for this yet. Not writing it off completely though. Bloody hell though, as I was watching and this came on I was thinking "shit, surely this isn't it? THIS is the big E3 announcement?". Thank god they then kicked a bit of ass at the end of the conference with SMG2 and Metroid Project M. I was so disappointed with this that it really made the latter announcements so, so much better. Was this the plan all along, lol? -
Anyone who complains about this should just go and trade their Wii in tomorrow tbh. Who cares it's the same engine? Christ, this is exactly what we need from Nintendo. Sometimes it's ok to create a sequel to a frankly awesome game as it's quick and easy than a new concept and engine from scratch. I have absolutely no problem with paying £30/35 for just 120 new stars tbh. Think of the joy you got from SMG...... Sure this won't have the same initial impact but damn it's going to be a fun game and it's visually fantastic.
-
This does look good. I disagree about the conference point though - seems little point in spending time on stuff like this as it will only look weak compared to Golden Sun and FF:CC, even if in name alone. Plus, let's face it, even with good marketing this isn't going to be a million seller.
-
Very, very pleased with this tbh. I was starting to get that sinking feeling at the point where Iwata focused on Wii Vitality Sensor and then BAM - this and SMG2. Fantastic.
-
Fair enough! I misunderstood what you meant by cheap. However, let's not pretend Blizzard have made their money and reputation on anything other than RTS (and WoW).
-
Cheap!?!?! I really don't understand this. Some companies, including some extremely good ones such as Valve and Blizzard (until WoW anyway), spend their entire lifetimes producing games from just one genre. This is not a problem.... they get good at it and make good games whilst different companies specialise in other genres....
-
This looks absolutely fantastic and is just the thing we need for Wii. Comparing this to The Conduit is utterly flawed anyway. If anyone has played say Half Life 2 (which is a single player, story driven fps like the Conduit) and then played Left4Dead (multiplayer online co-op game shooting zombies, similar to the Grinder) and complained that Left4Dead should have been HL3 simply because it was an fps made by Valve will understand this.
-
Being controversial simply for the sake of being controversial is hardly positive, whichever way you look at it.
-
Another HVS exclusive tomorrow. Perhaps you will be proved right then! Though my bet is that the second game is WiiWare. Graphics for this are nice, I can see them potentially being stunning in motion. I bloody hope this has an online mode though - this isn't optional for a modern fighting game imo. It's the only good way to really increase longevity and let's face it, you can't get more competitive than a fighting game really.
-
I'm also ashamed to admit that I've only played the first hour or so of Prime 1 and I've never played Prime 2. Got a feeling this is going to be very much a "buy" for me! Awesome news and value.

It is, as with all p2p, connection dependent sure. But the netcode used in Wii games is normally fairly poor. For example, I've got a decent 10mb line that I use all the time for online gaming on the pc with no problems and to be fair with MK on the Wii. Smash just seems to be laggy, sometimes only a little, most of the time. I've always thought that it was just the speed as more inputs require more bandwidth etc so I still think that this game will also struggle in that regard. I hope not though.

All of this sounds a shame. I've been out of the "gaming loop" for the past few months but this was one game that did seem appealing despite not being keen on the bots aspect.
-
This is good news and stuff, sure. Does anyone else, though, think that the online won't be any good even if implemented? It's a fast game and will likely lag like Smash, the Wii just doesn't seem to be able to keep up with those sort of games over the 'net!

Nice review, I am disappointed at the lack of online play and even leaderboards. This one's a maybe purchase for me atm.

As the title says. Or can anyone speak Greek, well enough to translate Greek (written imperfectly using the English alphabet) into English? I would be forever in anyones debt who can help me with this, I've just got a small message that I'd like translating roughly!
-
I was actually planning on getting the Wii version but I'm not going to now. It's still just too stripped down tbh so I'll be getting the PC version. It's just shocking how they didn't include Search and Destroy online. It's like the main mode, most of us grew out of investing serious time into TDM (apart from in say Quake, UT, Painkiller) a long time ago. Too basic for anything but the occasional blast.
-
What a ludicrous post. You're going to try to buy SEGA games just because SEGA made them? If they're good games then buy them, if they're not then don't. It really doesn't matter who publishes or develops anything - just judge games on their individual merits.
