  1. I know it's not much for Wii U owners but I don't think this is up-scaled. I'm sure I read the Switch version of MK8 was 1080p 60 natively in docked mode. That will look amazing.
  2. The Switch carts are absolutely tiny!
  3. That is very, very tight. So tight you couldn't cancel your pre-order tight. Uh oh, brace for disappointment.
  4. Well, I'm clearly out numbered on the Xbox UI on here as I think it's great. To be fair, consensus generally has been MS have improved it consistently since launch with the monthly updates. Moving on though - lesser ports are fine if it's just graphics. I don't see why developers leave out features, it makes absolutely no sense. Leaving FUT out of FIFA for example is madness when it's such a cash cow.
  5. Well, that's fair enough. My main point is that the Switch looks simple and smooth because it's sparse. Xbox is quite busy but it's jam packed with features and content. I have used the PS4 a fair bit - it's ok but again there's just far less there which helps to keep it simpler. That said, more features than I'm anticipating will be part of the Switch UI.
  6. I really don't agree with this. As an Xbox One user more than any other gaming platform, if the Switch UI and features came even slightly close then I can guarantee everyone in here would be delighted. It's not particularly sluggish for me, even on an old original X1, and I don't find it convulated at all. It certainly is packed with features though and in no way does simplicity or speed justify no friends lists, achievements etc. We might be surprised yet but there's simplicity because of clever design and then there's simplicity because of it being very basic. Hopefully the former!
  7. That's a good spot on notifications in the menu - gives some hope there are some basic features. It's extremely disappointing that it looks like no achievements also no friends list. I think the lack of a button for friends list, social or something similar is a worry. Are we close to it being confirmed all social options really are through an app?
  8. I honestly struggle to understand why people get so upset about DLC. I've no doubt this will be a fully featured Zelda game and probably longer than some of the recent entries in the series which tended to be a bit shorter. If you then want to spend some extra money on the additional content (once you know what it is mind) then that will be each persons individual decision. For everyone who decides not to take the plunge, you'll still have experienced the bulk of the game and the whole of the story. Back in the day on PC we used to have expansion packs released for most games and they were great. This looks like DLC along those lines. I'm more worried about the 32GB of memory o my he Switch being entirely insufficient for too much DLC though.
  9. I'm so flip-flopping on my pre-order. I'm lucky enough not to be tight on money either but that's not to say I want to waste £300+. I was really expecting Nintendo to firm up some more detail but their silence has only created even more uncertanity as rumours swill around to try and fill in the gaps. I think if there really is no voice chat without a bloody phone app then that will push me over the edge. I appreciate Nintendo aren't going to suddenly pitch up with an Xbox Live killer but something that resembles a basic online service from 2005 would be nice.
  10. This wouldn't shock me. I think the reality is that they will probably just amend the controls a little so that the GameCube games are playable without analogue triggers. I'm hoping there could even be Wii virtual console as the joy cons have waggle. Generally though, VC won't make or break Switch - it will be the quality and quantity of new retail titles. They'll have enough to get the diehard Nintendo fans in but it's also about persuading the PS4 and X1 owners that a Switch is a better choice to have a 2nd console this year rather than upgrading their main console with a PS4 Pro or a Scorpio.
  11. My pre-order was originally an estimated 7th March but I've also had an email to confirm release day. It's hard to judge what this means - have Nintendo increased the allocations? Are people cancelling pre-orders? Are there too few pre-orders in the first place? We'll find out in a few months time.
  12. I've not posted here for a long time but decided to have a look at what's happening as I've pre-ordered a Switch. Despite nearly taking the plunge a year or so ago I never bought a Wii U so my thinking on the Switch is that as a worst case scenario it's my chance to play Zelda, Splatoon and MK8. I've missed so many great games though perhaps not enough to justify an entire console cycle. The reveal has been poor though - there's far too many gaps in our knowledge of the machine this close to launch. It genuinely feels like I'm not quite sure what I'm buying. I hope that doesn't put lots of buyers off who may see it as too big a gamble.
  13. I'm absolutely loving this. There's just no better feeling than getting some insane rifle shots off or even better, I got my first tank with bombs as a plane today. Just so awesome. Really brings back positive memories of Battlefield 2 for the PC back in 2004/5. I really hope that they release more maps etc and that Bad Company 2 matches up to this! If anyone's playing on 360, add me: Daz190uk, I'm playing it loads atm!
  14. You know, I was willing to let Activision off for the blatent easy cash-in that this was always supposed to be. Now though, this is shocking. What a slap in the face. Treyarch have no story to compose, text to write, features to invent or balancing to test, all they have to do is make the thing look presentable. So far.... EPIC FAIL.
  15. I'm pleased everyones impressions are so positive! However, bearing in mind I'm not going to get that much multiplayer out of this game with the lack of online, how much one player legs do you see the game having? I'm interested in it. I had it pre-ordered from gameplay, cancelled, then pre-ordered from Argo and cancelled again so I just can't make my mind up on the game! Longevity is my main concern - I've easily done 50 odd hours on GST because of the online. Pay day for me on Tues so I still might yet get this.
  16. I've only had time to play very briefly now and again recently, still feels just as good as it ever did - even if I'm not playing quite so well for lack of practice.
  17. I think that they already have, I MUCH prefer The Conduit online to Halo 3. It's just pure fun, if basic. I just find Halo lame. CoD 4 wipes the floor with it and if you want vehicles then Battlefield 2 has yet to be bested.
  18. The trailer is fine and everything but SO standard, plus although I will probably get this I do find it hard to get too excited about a re-release!
  19. I personally wish that they made these mandatory upgrades just to boot your Wii (if it's connected to the internet) and then used them to really crack down on any piracy and any cheating etc online.
  20. Alas, I have also fallen into this trap. Cracking price though...
  21. It doesn't really work in The Conduit either tbh, it's so easy to aim at someone bunny hopping or not, much like PC gaming. What does make a difference is that games like CoD tend to have a mechanism in place to momentarily "pin" anyone who has just been hit and this then makes it easier to finish off someone after hittng them once. This sort of thing just isn't present in The Conduit.
  22. Also if you're crouched you don't appear at all. I've had loads of fun with this and actually think it adds a layer to the game player. Also, everyone's favourite CoD4 shows you on radar if you fire a gunshot....
  23. I ordered this last week at the same time as I also ordered The Conduit. This on 1-3 week delivery on Amazon for £16 and The Conduit was a preorder from Zavvi..... which one came first? Little King's Story by a week and counting! Anyway, I would agree with all the good stuff said about this game. I'm 3 hours in and loving it, it's such an awesome game to end my evening on after playing something a little more intense like GST or MK. The depth is great, so many different buildings and also so many things to do! The mini boss fights are really cool too and actually quite challenging. I'm playing on hard and died to the 2nd mission (the frog) a couple of times before I figured out his routine in a slightly Zelda-esque way. Since this is going around for sub £20 prices I would strongly recommend it, one of the best games I've played so far this year.
  24. You're representation of VGChartz methods is just as made as their figures tbh. It's far more sophisticated than you make out which is why they're so often fairly close. Just take your blinkers off. Sure, so you don't like the game that's fine. But you took a lot of offense at the guys mentioning sticks were shite for FPS gaming (and they are - hence why console players will never join servers with PC players, devs know the console guys will just get raped). It's ok not to like The Conduit but it clearly has some redeeming features and people are enjoying it.
  25. On an unrelated note, have you got your copy yet mate? Zavvi despatched mine on Friday but didn't get it yesterday. I'm going to be pissed if it doesn't come tomorrow! I'm certainly not ordering with them again either - Gameplay, I'm sorry I abandoned you!!!!
