  1. We shall see. I'm not going to be surprised if it does 100k in the US......
  2. I don't think it looks too bad visually tbh.... *runs and hides for cover*
  3. I'm not going to have time to play it tomorrow anyway but if this isn't despatched by tomorrow evening I'm going to cancel my pre-order and pick one up from a store.
  4. Zavvi does seem to have some life after all! My order has moved from 'awaiting pick stock' to 'awaiting despatch'. Hope for tomorrow perhaps?
  5. Yes, there sort of is. It depends on the shot you're trying to play. If you've got a bit of time then take a real swing at it, either forehand or backhand to go for a tight angle either side - ideal to hit a winner. Remember though, positioning makes a difference, it's awkward to hit a backhand if you're the wrong side of the ball etc. If you haven't got much time then you might not be able to swing properly so you just sort of position your racket best you can and it is harder to direct the shot exactly where you want but then that's the same as real life.
  6. I'm not going to cancel my order tbh. If it's not despatched by Friday morning then I will and just pick one up from the city.
  7. *Looks at the 3000 hours put into World of Warcraft* I worry about my health! Although to be fair it's been a year or so since I last played WarCrack.
  8. Strange because the controls are near perfect for me. I feel like I have complete control over where the ball is going to go, assuming I can actually make the shot. Positioning is important and as for hitting it too wide etc what your follow through on the swing. If you follow through hard it's going to go wider, it will go straighter if you hit it flat on with little follow through.
  9. How do you get time to play them all Dazzy!
  10. Hah! I will let you know if it is, I highly doubt by Sunday as there's no rush but I'm still thinking about it and I'm still disappointed by the feature set, though not the game. I also agree with your points on the high score boards. We need it in the prime area of the boards to really get people behind it.
  11. Slightly off topic but Nintendo just released a new firmware version, 4.1, in Japan. This basically stops hackers in full online mp games - most notable MK - as it prevents anyone with homebrew installed from playing online. It works by not verifying the console version when the game connects to Nintendo WiFi, surely this process could be applied to any online features?
  12. I thought that would be coming. A good job a lot of us got in at the £17.95 price!
  13. This really cannot come out soon enough! Has there been any hints at release dates, in any region?
  14. I don't really think anyone would, I jest, I jest!
  15. Mine says the same. I really wouldn't be THAT hopeful, hehehe.
  16. Hmm, there's a few I'm not 100% confident about!
  17. How exactly am I missing the point? EA have managed motionplus and full online multiplayer. Are Nintendo not to be held to the same standard? I think most people would agree that we generally expect more from Nintendo and not less. You're missing the point on the leaderboards I'm afraid. You personally may not put much stock into them, which is fair enough. I however, do as a substitute (albeit not a brilliant one) to full online multiplayer. They can't be replicated within this forum, we've seen it all before. People will post stuff for two weeks and then get bored and move on. For those of you that can afford/are willing to buy a new game every couple of weeks then fair enough. I can't and won't so these longevity features are quite important to me. I agree with Dazzy. However groundbreaking this is (and I'm not sure it will be THAT groundbreaking given what EA has done already) it won't get as much playtime as The Conduit. If it turns out that Resort is a better game though then that only highlights what a shame it is that Resort isn't more full featured.
  18. Fair enough. I can't really be bothered discussing it with people who just take the piss... just accept people look for different things in games. Would be boring if everyone had the same favourite features.
  19. I don't need to look over what I've said. I have already cancelled my pre-order because I need to think about this purchase now. I'm in a situation where I have very few friends who want to play much Wii, I am 22 now and life changes in that regard (sadly). In this scenario I simply am unsure about laying down hard earned cash for games which have potentially limited longevity. I really like online leaderboards. What the hell is silly with that? It givesme incentive to play. There's scores of games that I don't own that are "fun". But I don't just play games for good old plain "fun". I get my kicks from the competitive nature of gaming and not from simply beating my own high scores. (Obviously this isn't the case with a story drive single player game but we're talking more MP games here). I disagree that online leaderboards are not a basic feature. The competition defines what is basic and what is going beyond that level of service. In this day and age limited online functionality is downright basic. I have no doubt that the actual game will be awesome - but will I get my £40's worth? That's my concern. If this was a ps3 wand debut game or a microsoft natal debut you could bet it would not only have online leaderboards but also online multiplayer. I know my Wii isn't as capable graphically but it can connect to the internet so why leave this stuff out? I can't understand why anyone would think that it isn't "appropriate", do you play online FIFA? Pro Evo? or even Smash? or MK?. It's the same premise - competitive and head to head multiplayer games are more fun against other humans. This may or may not be a better experience locally but we deserve the choice of play modes.
  20. lol???? It gives me a good reason to continue playing, without them there's little motivation to really work on those high scores - which is where the hours will come in. A recent example would be Grand Slam Tennis - myself and others (espec. Lostmario) have sunk HOURS into the game because of the rankings system. Without it, it would barely be played now. Insatiable? Come on man, we are in 2009 here. Online leaderboards are a BASIC feature in this sort of game, even Mario and Sonic managed it. To be fair, it's pretty poor full online mp is not included with at least some of the games.
  21. Wow, not even high score leaderboards. I may cancel my pre-order then tbh, I don't see longevity without something like that.
  22. Again, my first impression was that this was a WiiWare game. In it's current state (not just graphics but also art and track design) the only place that this going to end up is in the bargain bin.
  23. Are there any online leaderboards?
  24. I don't entirely agree but that one made me actually laugh out loud!
  25. I doubt that the hacking is going to be a major problem anyway. I think the game will sell quite well and most that buy this one will also play it online. It's not going to sell anywhere near MK but then I bet there's a large percentage of MK owners who don't play online - I've only ever encountered a hacker once in that game and I have played A LOT of Mario Kart Wii!
