  1. Got mine too! Not tried it yet, I'm REALLY hungover and don't want that to spoil my first impressions. Will sink some time into it later though!
  2. Not at all imo. If anything I would expand the trading aspect greatly and really push it as why not trade over wifi? Makes a lot more sense than having to find someone else with Pokemon and a DS.
  3. I haven't even got a second Wii remote and nunchuck! Only a few gamecube pads! Plus, for me at least, The Conduit > any EA sports title!
  4. The only thing that will stop me getting this at launch is the fact that I'm getting Grand Slam Tennis on Fri and then The Conduit is out just a week before this. And... I STILL need to get Little King's Story. Too many games, so little time and money!
  5. That review is exciting. I have extremely high hopes for this one!
  6. Ok, I give in. Little King's Story will just have to wait. Preordered.
  7. You speak the truth!
  8. With the notable exception of the Total War series.
  9. Just read the IGN review and man I'm now really confused about this game! The problem is that I trust Eurogamer but it just looks so damn good! I hate it when reviews are so, so different - it's not even just score but also the comments. IGN basically say it works whilst EG say it's broken, how is that possible!? It's MOH:H2 all over again! (EG gave that 6)
  10. Are they that "creative" eh
  11. There's a lot of debate here about an issue that hasn't actually occurred yet. Wii Speak has not been fully utilized yet but I think Emashers right - there has been little opportunity. Things like Punchout! weren't even online, granted this is a problem in itself. The next Zelda will use MP+. I know Miyamoto was coy but I'm guessing he doesn't want to confirm ANY details atm because it's not at that stage of development yet. Other games are using MP+ to be fair. Metroid: Other M doesn't look like it's going to have many motion controls other than a bit of waggle and hefty IR use. I could be wrong on that but that's my initial impression from the trailer. NSMB Wii obviously can't really use it. So there's little left to be fair. Most games we would expect to support are so far. I can't think of any obvious exceptions?
  12. Those videos look fantastic. Hours will indeed be lost!
  13. If this does have online leaderboards, for me at least, that would go a long, long way to providing the longevity that I desire. I also did play Wii Sports A LOT.
  14. The sad part for me is that I usually agree with Eurogamer - moreso than any other reviews site anyway.
  15. EG's review is up.... http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ea-sports-grand-slam-tennis-review?page=1 5. Pretty shocking tbh.....
  16. I've got a £20 Amazon voucher on the way that I was going to use for The Conduit but seeing as the release is now 26th June I have no need to as I get paid that day! I'm seriously considering picking this or Overkill up...
  17. I think that the only way to guarantee those titles on Wii is a new machine with the graphical power to match 360 and PS3. I don't think there's a great deal Nintendo can do about it atm... That said - would be nice if Infinity Ward could be bothered to port us a Modern Warfare 2 in the same vein that Treyarch did with CoD5. I'm guessing CoD5 simply didn't sell well enough on Wii?
  18. My "hunch" so far is that the girl is both just a girl and the master sword. I'm thinking that you can transform her into a conventional master sword to use for normal combat. But - some sections might require a companion to complete puzzles. For these sections you could turn her back into a girl for the puzzle solving. Of course, I say this with zero confidence! Just a though but who knows with Nintendo....
  19. Just watched this. I'm VERY pleasantly surprised!! They all seem quite positive about what Nintendo have actually coming out, if not the presentation of the show. It mirrors what I think really - we did just get a lot of good looking games announced and motion plus is so worth being excited for! Have a watch guys, it's a nice reality check - things aren't too bad at all for Wii!
  20. I echo that once again. This is why we need online.
  21. Have we had any clarification on release date for this? Game and Gameplay both showing a 12th June release... 5 days away!! However, I would prefer to buy from Amazon as I have £20 of vouchers to use but it's showing 26th June!? Very odd.
  22. Sneaky, sneaky!
  23. I disagree with the "unfortunately" part of this sentence. The Conduit is HVS to many people and it's a game that will define the company. Out of the games we know about, it's also the one that screams to me "franchise" whereas the others do not. They've been very confident in interviews and they've lapped up the hype - in particular the attention that they have received from IGN. They do appear to be listening to the numerically underestimated Wii gamers and deserve praise for this. Also, on what I'm sure is an unpopular note, so do IGN for embracing HVS so well. At the end of the day though, The Conduit HAS and SHOULD be good. They've had long enough to get it right. The feature set is fantastic, as is the tech. Now the gameplay, something that Wii owners especially put above all else, has to match up. It doesn't have to be the next Halo, HL or CoD4. But it does need to a good experience with the sales to match. I really hope it's a million seller and also a fun game. I'm a fan of HVS and Ill give anything they do benefit of the doubt, they're work will no doubt increase in quality over time. Regardless, they have set themselves up with The Conduit and now they simply must deliver.
  24. I'm normally the first person to jump in and criticize a game for failing to include proper online functions, especially since MK proved it so possible on Wii. However, this one is up in the air for me. If it's still challenging and fun single player then I'm sure many will still buy this. That said, no online is a massive opportunity missed. I for one am going to miss out on a huge chunk of the game because I don't have three mates ready to play 2D Mario on a regular basis anymore. I haven't done since college in fact. The real shame is the tech is there to solve this for me, nintendo just fail to embrace it
  25. You're absolutely correct but then things like imrpoved ai and physics actually take quite a lot of effort. Wouldn't developers be pleased with the quick-fix solution of simply being able to render Wii games in HD? The increase in resolution would improve visuals significantly - certainly enough to warrant say a £230 price point for "Wii HD". This isn't going to happen and clearly HD is intended for the next console online and not a second version of the Wii. Wouldn't it have been nice though?
