Add my Switch friend code, always happy for a game whenever I'm on until we sort out a proper event for this.

I hope this app will be a lot better than most of us fear - there were some encouraging interviews at E3 talking about a competitive MP focus designed to bring eSports to the masses and online is part of this strategy. The more I've played ARMS, the more it has grown on me. I really like it. I finished difficulty 4 and have played quite a few online matches, I've had most success taking it slow and playing this more like a game of chess trying to dodge and then hit people when they're open. It's definitely not a button masher. It needs some sort of leaderboards for ranked mode and some stats but maybe they'll come with the app. This would really suit a weekly tournament too by the way!
  3. I wouldn't make it every single week but I would be able to make it more often, definitely.

You can still punch with ZL and ZR as that's what I'm using. Im quite enjoying this from the hour or so I've played so far. It is fairly slow but I like this as it makes it feel more controlled and deliberate. I'm not sure what control scheme will end up working out to be more effective - the movement is definitely better on the pro controller but curving punches is quite difficult I'm finding. I'm struggling through difficulty 4 but it's really tough.
  5. That was a really good showing from Nintendo - 2017 is packed full of first party released and they teased some momentum for 2018 too. I just want to see more on the system now - OS updates, voice chat app, VC etc.
  6. I like Xcom. I like Mario. I'm actually interested in this. Who would of thought something that sounded so shit could actually be good?
  7. The journey doesn't interest me in the slightest so that omission is not a deal breaker for me. I kind of like the idea of having this portable too as it is that sort of game but it's not a big deal. All I really play is FUT online so pleased that's included. If the online is smooth and we have voice chat (and voice chat isn't as horrific as many of us fear) then EA have actually made this a reasonably tough choice for me this year.
  8. I'm really not interested as I wasn't an enormous fan of Skyrim in the first place and how many times do we really need to buy this game? But, I think it'll sell bucket loads as the public seem to adore this game.
  9. I so agree with this. It makes a lot of sense to get the big multiplayer games out early - they're good for the entire console's lifespan and provide great ways of having games around for people to fill in the gaps in the release schedule.
  10. All of this sounds pretty positive and great to see FUT included. Let's see - if it's the Ignite engine and 60fps then we could be on to a winner.
  11. The problem for me is that this is on a Friday, so rare I'm free.

I'm very torn on this one. I kind of felt it was fun but shallow. If it's good online then maybe.
  13. This is all looking like a repeat of the Wii and WiicU eras. The Journey doesn't appeal to me but it was well received. FUT is incredibly popular now and is a deal breaker for me personally as it's all that I play really. Regardless of personal views though, missing modes will create the perception that this is a second rate version and it just reinforces everyone's negative opinions of Nintendo platforms and western games.
  14. I can't make it tomorrow, hopefully next time.
  15. This is absolutely awful. The wires will need to be insanely long for this to even function but it's a complete joke. On what world is this more convenient? Are they imagining us having iPhones on speaker for voice chat or something? I want game sound and chat through one headset because it's the best solution. It didn't need to be one or other, I'm still praying that there's a phone app and an app on the switch itself for a "gamer headset" but it seems incredibly unlikely now. Nintendo have serious work to do to win me over on this one.

I finally got to play this on yesterday evenings slot. I did quite like it - I thought the motion controls worked well and were more fun but the pro controller was also good. When it comes to ranked play online, I wonder what will be more effective? Movement and timing is easier with the pad but curving punches is easier with motion. I'm not 100% convinced there's enough depth to keep people playing but it's certainly fun.
  17. I'm toally with Kav on this - on what world can we be happy with no voice chat with strangers? It's pathetic - there's no reputational damage in letting people speak. Yes, a kid may get called a name but this is real life and interactions with people help to take team based games like this to the next level. We await the detail but I'm not going to get my hopes up with comments like that from Nintendo.
  18. Yeah, cost is a great point to be fair. I'm just a little tired of it personally.
  19. It does look interesting but what's with the endless stream of games with 16 bit graphics? I'm really done with that now and want to see more modern stuff. Ubiart for example looks so much better.
  20. Same for me.
  21. Shame the lobby lagged out at the end there - I was doing so much better in GP3!
  22. I should hopefully be able to make this tonight.
  23. I think we all know deep down that this is basically confirmation that the Switch version of FIFA will be cut down and inferior to the PS4/X1 versions. Hopefully it's just a lack of time to develop and it's on the same engine but missing a few features. I bet it's not thoigh sadly.
  24. I'm still seeing my Xbox One and later on, Scorpio, as the console I play most on just because of the sheer amount of games and people to play with. I have to say though - it comes down to games and not systems for me. I've got Deus Ex Mankind Divided on the go on the X1 but it just feels boring compared to Zelda which pulls me back in. I'm still a sucker for Overwatch though and I'm sure Morrowind will pull me back in to ESO. The portable element isn't a big deal for me but Nintendo just seem on fire with their actual games and ARMS looks great too.
  25. I think this looks like it could be really good. I'm not so sure about the "seemingly great online setup" though. It looks incredibly basic to me, a single ranked 1 v 1 mode with no way to communicate. I'm guessing the couldn't get it to work smoothly without lag when looking at the other modes online as more would be going on. That or it just got no focus. If the core game is good though, it won't matter as much. I'm really looking forward to the Testpunch.
