In current condition, this app is an absolute nightmare. If the aim is to move the chat to a phone to avoid "bulky gamer headsets" then fine. I don't ageee but I understand. But then why is there no party chat on the app? Why is it limited to one game and only talking to teams in game? Why is it friends only for everyone despite the fact the Switch also has an app for parental controls to protect the kids? I don't agree with the app in itself but I'm prepared to give it a go once they catch up to every one else's services circa 2005.

We probably do which is why I'm not pre-ordering. Lots of people will be able to put together regular teams of 4, there's a bunch of people I play with who manage 6 a lot of the time on Overwatch, but you want the flexibility to be able to jump in as a pair if that's the situation. I hope that Nintendo prove me wrong.

Crikey that is terrible. I think I'm going to wait on this one and not pre-order. I like the core game a lot but I want to see how grouping, matchmaking and voice chat work out first. There's no point in great gameplay without the system to support it on a game like this.

What are people's first impressions of the Splatfest? I like the game, it's a lot of fun and slowly getting used to motion controls for aiming. I'm just not sure the depth is there unless you're in a team and playing in a league etc.

The patch notes sound great. I've not been able to check yet but apparently we now have stats and a new "event" feature which sounds a bit like tournaments in MK.

I gave this a quick go doing the journey to Inkopolis. I really don't like the motion controls on this and it felt a bit better with them turned off. I do wonder whether or sticks or motion has an advantage online though?

I'm definitely trying the demo but I'm not sure on this. The game itself does look fun. However, it's almost exclusively an online multiplayer game and the app looks shocking. I was really hoping that the app would work a bit like Xbox Party Chat or something as a global service for the system but instead it looks very narrow and controlled. I'm not even sure we will have voice chat until a game actually starts and it looks like never with strangers either so that's a lot of faffing with friend codes and finding people to play with online. I'm not going to dive in at release, will see how it all shakes up first.

Normally I find Master Mummy fairly easy to deal with online but you were really good with him - difficult to stop you from landing some of those big blows!

Some great games tonight guys - thanks and sorry I've got to dash a bit early. Dazzy - that final fight was epic, won the party by basically one punch on the HP bar! Roll on more nights on this, it would be good to try the Arena out next time there's 4 of us on.

Surely they are not planning to release a voice chat app that not works with a select few games? That would be utter madness. If they do, time to setup a Discord server instead.

How about we setup a lobby at 9pm tomorrow night (Monday)? It's only a couple of weeks until Splatoon 2 now and that means hopefully we will have voice chat.

I'm in - hoping to start scoring some more points after a bit more practice!

Pleased to get a few games in guys but got to dash on to F1 now. We so badly need voice chat, less fun playing in silence but some good games there.

It may not be exactly BGE but I loved the trailer for this, taking the animal concept but rather than making another cartoon style game they've made it quite gritty and realistic which I do think is an interesting take. Can't judge the game yet as we've not seen it! You can kinda tell it won't get a Switch release though, the lack of raw horsepower makes more realistic graphical styles a challenge imo.

Still no good for me as I race in an F1 2016 league on Sunday nights!

I don't know where you guys get the time to play all of these games! For me, it'll be something like: Xbox (may still get a One X): F1 2017 Destiny 2 Sea of Thieves Switch: Zelda DLC Mario and Rabbids Fifa 18 Mario Odyssey Maybe Xenoblade or Fire Emblem Warriors

I really need to put some practice in on this, not played it enough but it's a lot of fun.

I've been stuck on Max Brass on level 5 for a bit but beat it tonight playing really defensively. To the guys just in The Mole's lobby - sorry I just jumped in and left a bit early too. Some cracking fights though - not had a draw until tonight and we all seem so closely matched on this. This is itching for us to setup a tournament on.

I do like IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat. I think they've got a good mix of characters on there and are an entertaining bunch. Think I'll also give the Radio Free Nintendo one a try.
