  1. That is a really good guess actually. I'm still sticking with more King's Story info though.
  2. I found it best to have B as jump, that just kind of felt right, and then put special attack on Z and shield on C with grab as just A+B. Not ideal, feels a little awkward to shield but it's not too bad. I don't really think it's mote and chuck being bad as a control method anyway. I'm sure it's hours of Melee making anything but the GC pad feel wierd.
  3. Very mixed bag visually. Some lovely stuff and then that incredibly bland desolate railway station.
  4. Although, thinking about it, does nintendo reset rediculous times? Like the sort that you would get using the grumble volcano exploit.
  5. Bad news imo, this doesn't look awful but I so wanted a 3D Castlevania. I'm just hoping that there's not a further kick in the teeth - something like the 360 and PS3 getting a proper 3D adventure whilst we get stuck with just a spin-off.
  6. I sort of agree, it qould probably be more fun if these shortcuts couldn't be performed. Invisible walls wouldn't take very long either, they're a really simple thing to add. Then again at least it's not unfair, especially in this youtube age, once everyone else realises the shortcuts it's just a matter of doing them the quickest. EDIT: That was said after seeing the Mushroom Gorge video - that Grumble Volcano one is absolutely rediculous! Way to make that track irrelevant from a time trial perspective.
  7. This is a completely off-conversation question but - if you have ONE copy of Brawl but TWO Wii's would the friend code be the same on each console because the disc is the same? Or would it still be different on each console?
  8. The game is region locked for random matches (don't think it is for friends codes). When you're searching for opponents it's looking for other NTSC users, the majority of which are in America. That's why it often fails to find opponents because most are out of what the game defines as the latency limits. It's also why, when it does find opponents, theres a higher chance of a bad connection and therefore lag.
  9. I tried one match online, wasn't laggy as such and was very playable. However, you could also tell that you were playing online and not local - was the smallest of delays but it was noticeable. Good enough for online leagues and ladders tho in my opinion - everyone get signed into Major League Gaming's ladder, they've got loads of people already.
  10. I actually quite liked the Wii-mote on it's own. Shiedling is awkward though but the jumping is MUCH easier than I thought it would be. That said the Cube pad is better. I'm fiddling around with controls on the mote and chuck option atm. I really, really would like to stick to the proper Wii controllers and I actually think, with practice, this could make it possible.

    Okami

Let's leave the Zelda bashing to the Twilight Princess thread guys.... Would be nice to have some more discussion actually about Okami.
  12. This *sounds* good but for some reason I've never played a Breath of Fire game. Very wierd, will have to check out the one on the VC.
  13. I have absolutely nothing to say about this game as it's way afloat of my wavelength. However - Long live Facism!
  14. There's no need to instantly dismiss the game but there certainly is a need to feel outraged! This sort of development is one of the main problems with the Wii.
  15. Check out this weeks IGN podcast for this. Better than We Love Golf! apparently. Who would of thought it? Certainly not me anyway.
  16. After reading this and the IGN Rock Band review I think it's safe to say that it's a waste of money. Just wait for GH4.
  17. Anyway, if we're talking bad TP dungeons I think you need look no further than the third one, the water dungeon. It wasn't as bad as most water dungeons but it was still the worst of them all.
  18. The Wii was not designed to "end with the peripherials"..... Comparing a guitar to boxing gloves or a baseball bat is rediculous. Baseball, boxing, tennis are all played with and/or against other people as competitive sports. Playing a guitar, or at least learning to, is a completely different experience. It's far, far more suited to solo or small group play and that's why it works so well. I'd love to see any game with boxing gloves packed sell even a fifth of what guitar hero has. Anyway, my point is not all perihperals are equal. Some are clearly more useful and more game enchanging than others. It's unfair to suggest that they're all essentially the same.
  19. I think that's quite obvious.... Wii mote will never beat the GH/Rock Band guitar as a controller for a guitar game.
  20. This looks great but I'm not going to get too excited, really don't expect to see a European release for some time.
  21. I've seen snippets from a few reviews (not the best info ever, I know) that pretty much agree with Owen and co. here. Dissapointing really, you'd like to think devs would at least not take steps BACKWARDS from Wii Sports. Not too bothered though, no online = no purchase for me anyway.
  22. I'm 21 now and as a kid I played Link's Awakening, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. I understand the status quo amongst these games with Ocarina being by far the most revered. Despite this though, I can genuinely say that out of all the Zeldas - and I've liked them all - I enjoyed Twilight Princess the most closely followed by Wind Waker. Part of this is to do with my tastes changing slightly with age. But I also think that Zelda has improved version after version and this, combined with TP's more adult story, has kept me hooked.
  23. When it comes to any games gameplay is absolutely king. However, I do look for certain other things - moreso on Wii than PC (only other platform I play on) since some games are feature light. So, graphics. I'm not a graphics snob in any way but it's extremely annoying to play a game that looks bad. I'd much rather smooth and clean visuals than detailed or feature packed. I still play CS 1.6 but I struggled through CoD3 on Wii. Medal of Honor Heroes 2 on Wii looks like it did a good job on this actually, clean and smooth visuals over pixellated detail. I really appreciate the music in games but it so often fails to impress. Mario Galaxy was brilliant, Smash looks like it will top even this. This is never really a deal breaker in the same way graphics can be though. Finally, my absolute biggest gripe with the Wii - online play. With online play so many titles could be drastically improved. Playing against ai is simply boring over time. I'm not the only one demanding online play either. Worms could have been brilliant but sunk. I predict that Sluggers will also fail when Strikers did so very well. I think, from now on, I really want the Mario Kart quality of service in my decent Wii games. Shame Smash won't achieve this but then it will have so much external support it might not matter.
