Xpert 11 Season 27: We few, we happy few, we band of brothers
Rowan replied to Haden's topic in General Chit Chat
Usual good game with Madpool. My 24 year old midfielder scored on his 100th game -
Alex Navarro (Giant Bomb) has written an article about some of his feelings and expectations for E3. He talks about all 3 major companies but I wanted to highlight his thoughts on Nintendo as he's managed to summarise completely my current thoughts on the Wii U. Obviously after the Nintendo Direct I hope I have a reason to buy a Wii U. http://www.giantbomb.com/articles/the-guns-of-navarro-let-the-games-begin/1100-4653/

Payday:The Heist was unavailable to purchase when I checked the online store this morning so maybe the Russian site is correct.

Amazon have dropped the price to £29.99 (of Luigi U) so hopefully the others follow suit.

@Zell What a demolition against Inter Happy to get off the mark with our first win of the season. -
Don't forget the rumoured Champions League final ad tomorrow Could that be a better oppertunity than E3 to show the console?
-
Damn 1 and a half hours? Nintendo is really going for it Maybe they're doing a Let's Play for Pokemon X & Y
-
Can't do tonight, but I should have more free time over the coming weeks.

1 day after the press conferences. Would they have been better going before hand? There's still a pre-E3 direct coming isn't there?

How much live TV do we really watch these days? I was always under the impression that we were slowly drifting towards using on-demand like Netflix & LoveFilm in addition to catch-up like iPlayer. Sure, social media has reignited some of the popularity in watching broadcast television but the vast majority of my viewing is now recorded to watch when it suits me on a PVR/Sky+. The only TV I watch live are sports. So with Microsoft including HDMI-In on X1, are they hoping we step back a few years to a time when we cared what was on the guide right now and predominantly only watched TV as it aired? I would have thought Microsoft would offer a subscription package which not only provided Xbox Live, but also television content on demand over the internet such as subsidsized Netflix, HBO, Sky etc and would hence be all in one. Therefore removing the need for our separate cable/satellite subscriptions. My guess that the content providers are not playing ball and feel they don't need to split their profits with Microsoft as they're getting enough revenue as it is - which is something that Apple is struggling with now for their Apple television.

1st world problems but I had no internet for about 3 weeks last year and pretty much relied on single player PS3 games to get through. I wouldn't be very happy and probably wouldnt cope if I was locked out of all my games after just 24 hours of that time.

Can confirm this works with Sony TVs & PS3. You can use the Sony TV remote to navigate the PS3 XMB as well as play/pause fast forward etc. Also, with HDMI-CEC the TV can automatically turn on from standby and automatically switch to the correct input if the PS3 is switched on. So obviously X1 takes this further by being able to manipulate what TV channel is shown.

Looks like no Optical out either

My god if Sony do any of the same bullshit Microsoft are enforcing then I'll be WiiU only next gen.
-
I'm assuming that once the game is installed on the 2nd box that the original user is locked out from playing.
-
Damn gutted to hear that Xbox won't work without Kinect. Just hope Sony don't follow suit.
-
Disappointed with the direction they've chosen to go down.
-
Incase you have trouble with Giant Bomb's site you can use the Twitch direct link: http://www.twitch.tv/giantbomb They just skype called Jeff who's on the showfloor
-
If the box itself is a 'set-top box' too with the possibility of its own cable plan without an external cable box does that then mean you could control the Xbox with the Wii U's TV button?
-
Early days but they're probably unhappy the download cost is much cheaper than the RRP. With this in mind, they know that most people will probably go for download so sales of disc may be lower and therefore lower profits. While those who are going for disc are more likely to be collectors/core Nintendo fans and is hence an oppertunity for those retailers to get a bit of extra profit from a limited release.

Xpert 11 Season 26: Space to move, Space to breath, Space to win
Rowan replied to Haden's topic in General Chit Chat
Most importantly of all just have fun You'll learn quickly the rules and ropes of the game and how you want to handle your squad both short term and long term. I didn't have a clue what I was doing in my first season but I still managed to win the lower division! -
Well at the very latest we'll know by June 6th if PES is coming to Wii U as that's the date of Konami's pre E3 show which includes the PES 14 reveal. I would bet that it is likely PES will come to Wii U and that they've planned on doing so regardless of whether FIFA 14 was too. The good thing is that the next PES is being built from a version of the FOX Engine so I'm hopeful on it being a great football simulation.
