So it was okay to laugh at his expense while he was alive, but not now he's dead? I hate people who refuse to have courage in their convictions. Either laugh through both his life and death or just...don't, and grow up.

Yeah, it's a shit photoshop stepchild. I make my avvies/sigs with it. As far as I'm aware, you can't do anything interesting except cutting and pasting. And some rubbing out of harh edges. That might just be my skills on it though.

It seems everyone in the world except me is in a marmite relationship with La Roux. She's pure greatness in every song for me. --- That Cobra Starship and Gossip Girl song is awful. The music is there, SOMEONE could have been hired to write decent lyrics to go with it.

Of course. I have an intense desire to live on after death/fear of death and not existing, so I want children to carry on my existance in their genetics/memory/both hopefully.

Unemployment, travelling and smoking thread. Apparently.

But they hire her through an interview process or anything, they just plain up and asked her, when people who apply fairly but aren't quite vapid enough won't get jobs. It's not a fair hiring process, let alone a good way to go about gaining staff, but I doubt I'm the kind of person Abercrombie/Hollister and the like want in their shops anyway. Last time I went to Abercrombie (to the maze like pitch black one in London), the workers kept giving me dirty looks, so I kept making a point of shouting out in surprise/disgust the prices of everything and how fucking dull it all was.- 562 replies

I was so angry when I heard this; MY godsister (or rather, the daughter of my godmother) is really pretty. Very girly, so not my type, but still, undeniably classy and beautiful. However, she is a stupid fuckwit, so any attraction was dead when I first talked to her when we were like...4 and 3 or whatever. Anyway. She's stupid but beautiful. So, one day (she lives in...East Molesly or something? Near Hampton Court Palace), she's in London, and is approached and asked if she wanted to work in Hollister (Abercrombie & Fitch esque devil establishment), she looked like the type they wanted. That annoyed me firt off, the fact they based it completely on looks, and they (presumably) refuse hundreds of qualified people all the time. Despite my godsister living in the lap of fucking luxury, daughter of a private dentist and a lucrative garage owner. In the ecomonic crisis there are people who actually NEED jobs and money, but this fucking arsehole of a company can pick and choose based on looks, apparently. However, they ARE being sued (YES!) because they hired a girl with only one arm, to join the rest of their "models" (what they call workers), with the promise of working on the shop floor, but then kept her in the backroom, because she asked to wear a cardigan instead of a t-shirt, as she didn't like people seeing her plastic arm too much. It (and similar companis, like Abercrombie) just offend me. The naked men as you walk in, the fact the clothes are boring as fuck, yet ridiculously expensive..all of it. At least people are taking note of the fact that this kind of discrimination can't be allowed to go on.- 562 replies

My sympathies to all those ill. I've had a cold/sore throat/head the last few days, but it's going away. I also had a strange twanging pain (lovely way to describe it) in my left calf, but I dealt with it. In other news; who knew La Roux's album could be a contender for my favourite of 09?

Yeah it's brilliant. Sounds a bit better live too! The whole album is worth its weight in argon.

I liked Subspace as it actually gave the series some semblance of a story.

I assumed Man In The Mirror because Diana on the X Factor made it popular last year?

The Shining REALLY good, took me a long time to finally get this on DVD, but it was worth the wait. Jack Nicholson is great, as is Shelly/Shirley Duvall. Is she Lambert in Alien? I recognised her perfect "OMFG crying, shaking, about to die" face from somewhere. Genuinely chilling, without gore. What a real horror film is. And the ending felt somehow uncliched. A wonderfully shot film too, as expected from Kubrick. 10/10

Saw Modern Love Is Automatic last night, it's screening here during the Edinburgh Film Festival after being on the official selection of SXSW or whatever. Thought it was great. Read a little bit about it after, and I just really liked how it was done. Hopefully it'll get a wider release/DVD release, for people to see it. It has a death metal soundtrack, which was so appropriate, to represent her repressed lusty thoughts of sex and death. The main woman, Melodie Sisk was sexy. Pretty funny too. Recommended if it comes to a town near you.

Quickly, one of the keys! *screams* Um...the N is too obvious, as it might be Neil. K could be Kain or Kiler or Kill, S could be Stacey or...Stab or something. Oh go for K! *screams in panic*

...what? Seriously. What did you just say in that post? Is it as inane as some of your other posts? ---- In other news, I'm going to recommend Music For Men by Gossip heartily. I prefer it a lot more than Standing In The Way Of Control. Beth Ditto admits that she used her voice too much to just overpower the songs on the last album as the lyrics weren't that strong. But this album is much more of a developed and well-crafted album. Really good.
