Much better Final Fantasy VII Remake progress: Reached chapter 9. Still amazing. I'm enjoying every little thing. All the details from the original are there. And there's so much new to see and experience...love it.

Indeed. And that's why I'll go with the PS5 since Microsoft doesn't seem to be set on actually making their next-gen worthwhile. Not to mention, there's a lot of options to relive video game history. May they be legal or not (depending on whether you own the original)...but for the majority of systems/games there are easy ways to play them.

Haven't read a book in ages...just finished Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. Love the theme, love how it's written, hate the glaring plot holes and hate the ending. Gonna go with 1984 by George Orwell (or Eric Arthur Blair) next. Wanted to give that one a read for years. Maybe it'll push me into fulfilling my desire to read the great classics.

URGH, shut up already

At least with Sony there's something to talk about. Nintendo doesn't release games anymore so no talk can be had Yeah, it's tiring But not something we should dive deeper into. Especially not in this thread. It's been derailed way too many times already. True. Most of us here are gamers without any bias and if the three big gaming companies are competing and pushing out innovations it's a win for all. Personally, I think it's going to be very interesting to see how Sony and Microsoft will fare, given their very different approach to next-gen.

Oh sure, BC as in "play the games from the previous generation". And we all know that we'll be able to with the PS5. Games from further back, as shown in the chart, are barely worth mentioning with regards to BC, though.
-
I'll wait and see how BC (or missing BC) will impact sales. Can't imagine Sony will lose many customers with that. And I really hope some people here will never buy a PS5 given the disdain they have for what's been announced/not announced. The incessant complaining and bringing up old news is annoying as hell, especially when most discussions start on a positive note. It's always Sony...

Been spending more time with Final Fantasy VII Remake and it's the gift that keeps on giving The game's linearity makes sense and I kind of like how it plays with the nostalgia. Seeing the vistas you've experienced back in the day (or for me only a few years ago) for the first time in new light (and very pretty graphics) is a joy. I do wonder how Square Enix will handle the "world" (i.e. free roaming) in future "episodes" (or whatever they called it). I think it's necessary that they include it because several games with pure linearity would be a little tedious, I reckon. Really hope they don't go with the "here's a map and you can fast travel to locations"-approach. I NEED TO TRAVEL THROUGH THE WORLD MYSELF. Anyways, first I should finish the Midgar episode

Because people need to find something to complain about Sony and the PS5, especially since the company has been nailing the marketing from day one (aside for the fact that we still don't know anything about the console's price). Gotta put them down some way or another I think we gotta keep in mind that the PS4 is still doing gangbusters. And Sony knows...they even did a PS4 event a few weeks ago. There's less of a need to do a short marketing cycle for their new console. Still...it's time for some more details

Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online (24th September - 27th September)

Gamescom was a huge disappointment this year...really hope that TGS will be a little more interesting. Microsoft has to deliver... -
Expected and not surprising. Will not impact sales at all. Personally, I don't really mind. I barely have time to play the newest games anyways so backwards compatibility doesn't matter to me. Given how it's likely that the new consoles are out in 2 1/2 months and we still have no idea about pricing, it's time for Microsoft and Sony to finally step up. This game of chicken is starting to annoy me

Yeah, these games pretty much go like this: One player makes a mistake/misses a move or it ends in a draw. Renegade seemed to be the most "fair", 'cause there exist way more possible moves than in the other two. Me, too. Not sure if @Glen-i needs 'em, though, if you can vouch for the results: S.C.G. 1 - 2 drahkon in Dots and Boxes S.C.G. 0 - 3 drahkon in 4-in-a-Row S.C.G. 0 - 3 drahkon in Renegade

No probs, I'll stay in the lobby

Awesome I'm online now.

@S.C.G you up for getting our games on now or in a few minutes?
-
It's 15 °C, gloomy, rainy and windy here. Feels like autumn already and I love it Really hope summer doesn't have a huge comeback later in September. I want temperatures to drop.
-
It's probably for the best if you host. My internet is a bit shoddy when it comes to uploading and hosting stuff. I should probably learn the rules for Dots and Boxes and Renegade

I actually pushed through for a while and it gets better. As expected: That one mission was piss easy knowing that reinforcements arrive Anyways, I still put Valkyria Chronicles Remastered on hold. In other news: I borrowed Final Fantasy VII Remake from my sister's boyfriend. Played it for 4 hours and it's so fucking good. First of all: It's drop-dead gorgeous. And the music...OHHHHH THE MUSIC. Wonderful. Then there's the battle system: It's very action-y but still kind of plays like a traditional JRPG, i.e. you can't dodge everything so you still take damage and have to pay attention to HP and heal accordingly. It's brilliant. Also bought Cadence of Hyrule (and the season pass) so I can finally play one of my most wanted games Only played it for an hour but I've reached the first temple. So far so good.

That was me And I agree, it's such an unfair (and also unnecessary) way to increase the difficulty Like in Pokémon games...every time you fight in an arena and you get a Pokémon down to low HP: BOOM, here's the ultra-mega-potion to fully heal.

@S.C.G (and the others), sorry for getting touch this late, the weekend was quite busy. I'd be up for our games tonight, if that's ok with you. 8pm would be perfect for me (I think that's 7pm for you?).
-
Meh, not for me. But after Fall Guys everything would've sucked

They arrived, seem to fit. I haven't been able to run with them, yet, 'cause I got some horrible blisters from other shoes The running shoes came with a slight blemish, though. Managed to get 60% of the buying price back (I now technically paid 17€). Also got the option to send them back to get the remaining money refunded, but I think I'll take the risk and use 'em until they break down completely (that blemish is at the left shoe's tongue; there's a slight tear in the seam - it might not be much, but running shoes are under more strain than other shoes so we'll see whether they'll wear down more quickly).

Yeah, this was unnecessary. No wonder it got shadow dropped...
