  1. I like Wednesdays, because for us Wednesday is curry night. £4.95 for curry and a drink, and catch up with friends.
  2. Is it possible to just get through the game with one overpowered Pokemon like all the rest? I pretty much cleared Blue, Gold and Diamond using just the one starter Pokemon.
  3. You'll never find a nice girl that way, though. A girl who'll 'get' with you during a night out clubbing doesn't sound as if she has much self-respect. Call me old-fashioned.
  4. It feels weird that you're trying to educate me (biology graduate) on science and evolution...especially with made up science and your own conjecture. We have the resources to produce far many more babies than we currently have. In some cases, people choose to have none. Therefore, your theory that condoms somehow are a natural response to limiting ourselves from having children we can't support is false. In actual fact, many people just don't want children, or at least not then. There is no real desire for most to continously pass on our genetics (with each turn of sex) - passing on our genes is a byproduct of our desire to have sex. Thus, we have no problem in doing things that may limit passing on our genetic information, so long as we can still have sex (the pill, condoms, etc.) As amusing as your theory on gay people is, it is absolutely ridiculous and I fail to see any evidence for why gay people would be as you say they are. And if you do try and put scientific knowledge across, pasting a Wikipedia article would not lead to anyone taking you seriously.
  5. It doesn't matter what the reason is for why we're drawn together, we are not purely instinctual beings like you suggest. We live in brick houses and visit supermarkets for food. Thus, your reason for denouncing adoption is ridiculous. Men and women are drawn to each other to have sex since this allows the human race to continue. But that's just an attraction that we are free to use in any way we want - e.g. seeing to yourself, or using protection. In fact, that's a great example. If it's all about genetics, and passing on genetic material is the most important thing, then how is it men have no problem wearing condoms? It's simple. We enjoy the pleasurable feeling provided by sex, which primarily exists to cause us to reproduce, but we are by no means forced to pass on our genetics. Your whole 'it's right because it's natural' argument is balls since there are many who go against this (gays for instance).
  6. There's not enough moisture in the small amount of air trapped in some of these things to cause the same degradation (such as the air-tight sandwich boxes). As Eenuh said, some of the tests are a bit iffy since they are all being kept in air-tight containers where mold and bacteria are restricted. The one with the jars in the Supersize me video isn't air tight, hence why you see them decompose, but again; it's still slightly more sealed off than if it was just left out in the open. We can all concur that the fries are completely unnatural, though. Barely anything happens to them.
  7. See, I always looked unfavourably towards massive numbers of players on maps. To me, it feels like Saving Private Ryan with all the bullets flying around; almost random if you get killed. It makes the chance of someone finishing you off when you're weak after killing someone much more likely. At least that's how it felt in Resistance 2 with 60 people to a map. Also, you're never really going to bump into all those people so it seems a bit pointless. I prefer it to be more tactical with perhaps 10 or less people to a map.
  8. Says who? Not too long ago, people didn't even know what genetics was. So I guess there was no purpose to having a child? Now, you are making the assumption that an adopted baby/young child would behave or love you any different than your own biological child. The only definite difference is the genetic relation. Also, take this into consideration. In an already overpopulated world there are millions of (potentially orphaned) children currently suffering from famine, drought and disease. Perhaps one of the most noble and kind things you could do is adopt one rather than bring another into the world; you aren't contributing to overpopulation and you are saving a child from a terrible life.
  9. So...did a lot of working out, these guys?
  10. Wow, well put. You did something I could never be bothered to do. Yeah, he had judged the game before it was released simply because of the person sitting at the top (which is ridiculous, as staff and direction constantly change so you rarely end up with the same sort of game anyway). That, and the fact that he was constantly wishing for games he was playing as a child or teenager, which is foolish. Partly what made games you played during your childhood great is because they were part of your childhood. If I was Oxigen_Waste I would say 'objectively, this game is definitely above average' simply because of its overall very positive reception backed up with people actually buying it. But instead I'll say that the vast majority think it's great, so it's pointless to come in here trying to rally people to think otherwise. Waste of fucking time.
  11. lol. It's funny because it's true. Happy Birthday son.
  12. I got out of a terrible 3 and a half year relationship about 7-8 months ago. Long story short, the girl was a manipulator with little heart or conscience and had cheated on me for over a year. And oh yeah - she wanted to firebomb a butcher's. Now I'm with someone who I love and who also loves and appreciates me immensely, doesn't take me for granted and someone who I have no arguments with. She's always looking out for me and she never hates me for who I am and doesn't try to change me (as my past girlfriend always was - trying to turn me vegan). And soon we'll be living together for at least the next four years of our life, then most probably beyond. So put simply: things will get better, you will find someone who is not (as you suggest from his Facebook activities) a black-hearted user who was definitely not right for you, or likely any other nice woman on Earth.
  13. Well there isn't a third disc for PS3 versions. Unless you mean something else?
  14. Isn't it also like 8 minutes on the train? I pass through Stockport on the way to pretty much anywhere... sometimes on the way back home to Altrincham.
  15. Yeah great going there...KingV I know actually loves FFVIII and was joking. And as I pointed out...FFIV was re-released in 3D and people still don't really care, comparatively. Stick that in your fanboy piehole. :p
  16. Ohhh you did not just say that. So you want a fair reflection of far more gamers? Wikipedia snippet: Famitsu rated the game at 39/40, with three reviewers giving the maximum 10/10 and one reviewer giving 9/10.[95] Worldwide the game has shipped 5 million copies.[112] Dengeki praised especially the battle system, stating that the battles are by far the most exciting in the series, and concluded Final Fantasy XIII deserved a score of 120, and that 100 would not be enough.[107] The game was voted as the second best game of 2009 in Dengeki online's reader poll,[113] and in January 2010, was voted the best game ever in Famitsu's reader poll.[114] If they're anything like you then they likely have niche tastes (very likely, actually, given some of them think the best games are somewhat retro). Given games are so much cheaper online, I don't consider owning a games shop to be worth anything, really. Smart people won't be going there. Yes...you may post your view. But there is no need to keep reiterating your pointless negativity in a topic where every time someone praises it you argue against them, and don't like the fact that others recognise it as a great game. You constantly berate the FF series for being too similar but praise the series with the most recycled content (battle system, storylines, character personalities, etc). Seriously, the battle system doesn't ever even try to change with each game. Combine that with the cheesiest stories known to man. I like a couple of Tales games, but that's really all I could play before I found each installment too similar (and let's not forget- Tales of Legendia was a massive turd). Funny that- Chrono Cross's story is enormously flawed (mostly because of time paradoxes). Yet it doesn't stop you thinking it's a great game - seeing the error of your ways yet? As I have said before...the majority disagree with you. You didn't like it, most people did. Big deal. But FFXI...really? Ok. Again...look up the term 'average'. It's a term that generates the 'middle' score relative to all the games there are. And it's easily far, far above your average game. Yep blud. Play chess to increase your INT stat some more. Then come back here and post some more drivel to decrease it again.
  17. Yeah I have that too. I really like this one since it's white with the logo...that's how I think they should be. It's numbered up to 271, which is probably enough (I think the XII guide went on a little). It looks thicker though, and the presentation is really nice.
  18. I'm guessing that's if you don't bother to do any sidequests at all...
  19. I only wouldn't compare it to MM because FFVIII is the best game ever made. :p That would be a miracle, given it just got re-released in 3D for DS. Maybe it's just not held in such a high regard?
  20. OoT is the FFVII, AKA the most popular, of the series. With MM being the FFVIII that can ultimately be a richer experience should you choose to take everything it has on board.
  21. Everyone on this forum is very good odds. And who knows what your friends are like to be honest. Oh just get your poison off here. Nearly everyone else loves these games, you don't. We get it. No need to keep bitching on about it. They were cracking games, but you only like old school hardcore / Dragon Quest style / tactics games. You're fussy, and never satisfied. As I said before, it's clearly above average. Look up the definition of average...there's easily 5 movie tie ins / rehashed racer shite / my little pony does the cooking for every Final Fantasy XIII. So really 'average' is something you would use to relate it to the vast majority of games...which this easily spanks. And if you think it's better than FFVIII, it's not average. It must be divine.
  22. Seeing as everyone loves this, I can't help but think 'told you so' to the people who thought it would be terrible. It's Final Fantasy, what do you expect?! They throw that much money at it and retain the same formula to the extent that you know it's going to be an above average game.

    Fable III

So basically it's going to go down a casual route to try and get more people to buy it. I didn't mind Fable II...it was really quite heavily slated when it was fairly enjoyable.
