Very disappointing - where was the gameplay in that Assassin's Creed video?
-
Also - if there's something you tend to want to pick up to tidy up like a stick, weeds, things you smashed out of a rock, default to picking them up first, not some piece of furniture a mile away instead.

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition (29th May)
Sheikah replied to ArtMediocre's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I really dislike the new models. Seems like they've gone more anime cute style, moving away from the unique brand of semi-realism they had first time. It reminds me a bit of what they did in the Final Fantasy VIII updated port, making the characters look more anime-like. It's a shame because in that game too the models were clearly pixelated but you could make out what the original designers were going for.- 198 replies

It's a Blue Yeti USB mic. They are about £120.

They can abandon whoever they like if it's not worth their time. Nintendo have long neglected their online infrastructure - the fact remains on Switch you cannot send anyone a message or invite them to a party within the console. Back to the COD example - why would they want to release COD on a console like that? Bear in mind that most people with a Switch own a second console, it reasons that most people would rather play COD on those consoles instead (with all their friends on those systems). The idea that we need to "show support" as some kind of charity by buying the games they put out on the Wii doesn't really make sense. People should buy the games because they want to buy the games. The fact remains that the Wii versions always were inferior to the 360 and PS3 counterparts, because Nintendo's console was underpowered and hobbled by the online infrastructure. Nothing the third parties can do about that; and people were absolutely within their right to buy the superior versions on the other consoles instead.

On the plus size (ironic phrasing), I bet you can always find clothes left over in your size during sales. [emoji14]
-
You can't blame third parties for not supporting it enough. These companies don't leave money on the table, if they're not supporting it that's because they don't see the profit/audience being there - remember it's more work as well to make Switch versions (X1 and PS4 are a similar power level). You have to remember that most people will want games like COD on a console like X1 or PS4, where all their friends are. That leaves a slim audience for those types of games on Switch.

Well, the Dutch are the world's tallest nation so it wouldn't surprise me if Uniqlo stores elsewhere sold clothes for shorter people. [emoji14]

I assume they're just trying on the biggest size versions of those T-shirts? For coolness reasons we don't get.

Hello I am an officer from HM Revenue & Customs. May I check how much corporation tax you've been paying lately? [emoji14]

I reckon they will, but time will tell! Reason being, PS4 games are compatible with PS5, so I can't see people going out to buy it again on PS5 (once they get a PS5) since they could just pop their PS4 disc in instead. It would be an easy PR win anyhow. When you think about it, all games are installed to the hard drive anyway. So if you installed the PS4 disc version onto the PS5, surely it could then just pull a patch that releases the limits on things like FPS and resolution, bringing it in line with the PS5 version? In fact the more I type about it, it makes so little sense for it to not be a buy once deal.

While true to an extent it gets easier and easier to predict. People have amassed game libraries now and bought into the ecosystem of each console, having friends tied to a specific console. The only times recently when we have seen a landscape shift is when a company have done something a bit stupid. Like Microsoft with its used games/always online policy at the start of this gen, and like Sony by choosing the difficult to code for Cell processor for PS3 and having a ridiculous price tag at launch. If anything the "fucking up" events are harder to predict. Like, we can probably assume Sony will outsell Microsoft again, unless there's a fuck up. And the more the industry matures, and the more mistakes they learn from, the less it feels like they're going to fuck up next time. But you never know. PS5 could be 700 pounds. XD

Although just a CG video so far it does look superb. Loving the Viking setting.

Yeah, I always thought baggy T-shirts were more of an American thing. Seems a very strange style of modelling though, makes the clothes look like crap really.

420 and Leif? What exactly are these "shrubs" you are growing on your island? [emoji6] -
I actually think Game Pass is costing Microsoft massively. Microsoft still allow you to convert up to 3 years Live sub into 3 years Live + Game Pass sub for just 1 dollar, which is pretty insane, and there's always 1 dollar monthly trials you can renew too, pretty much continuously from what I hear. When you consider that Microsoft give away their own games at launch on Game Pass you have to wonder if it's worth the money they are dropping on it. For instance Gears 3 physical retail sales were 20 times that of Gears 5, the latter of which launched on Game Pass. Clearly everyone was getting Gears 5 for almost nothing on Game Pass. You have to wonder how little money that game took overall..no wonder Microsoft will not release accurate sales data. I reckon Microsoft are willing to shoulder the loss here because subscribers end up with these big libraries of games, which they aren't willing to lose so will stay with Xbox next gen. Maybe they think they can pull the rug one day and remove the trials and conversions and people will all stay subscribed, and they can then start to make profit. I think they might be in for a suprise, personally. Ultimately though I don't expect Game Pass to put Microsoft on top next gen. It hasn't really started to turn Microsoft's fortunes around this gen and I think the main reason for that is that they just do not have the games. Games are what people really want and will affect people's console choice more than anything. Both Sony and Nintendo have great exclusives and their consoles are outselling Xbox comfortably, even though their games are (due to absence of Game Pass) much more expensive, all in all. You also don't see other companies copying Game Pass (in terms of putting full size titles at launch on it), which tells me it's not the next big thing that everyone should be doing, rather a bit of a risky move with a reason behind it.

The new anime and manga thread! [Use Spoiler Tags!]
Sheikah replied to Shorty's topic in General Chit Chat
It's a decent anime but not exactly one of the best. Mind you, I think that Naruto at its best was leagues ahead of My Hero Academia, so I don't think I'm the "norm" so to speak. -
Click where it shows your money in your bag and you can take out a bag of 10k (assuming you have at least that much on you) and then bury that 10k bag in the golden hole instead.

With a few hybrid flowers there used to be a lot of peacock butterflies, it's a shame to see them nerfed this way. The problem with this kind of post-release nerfing (especially if they decide to nerf turnips) is that it's closing the door after the horse has bolted. People have already made their money so it's more or less casuals with less time to play the game who end up getting hurt by these nerfs.
-
Nope, they're talking about southern hemisphere, where scorpions are currently available.
-
Yeah I imagine it's been pretty hard for you to catch a scorpion, given that they don't start appearing until May.
-
Just a follow up to the bug nerfing, seems it is indeed significant (peacock butterflies and tarantulas are the real money makers):

Finally got some gold roses to spawn today! Also had a weird glitch where I couldn't interact with Chops's door (he was in but trying to enter his house did nothing). Turns out this is a bug that can be corrected by restarting your Switch. -

That sucks, but if you can find a place with a turnip sell price of 500 then you'll only need to spend more than 20k on turnips to sell for more than that one 99k bag.
