Tearaway and Wind Waker HD. Both amazing. -
General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Sheikah replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Their success with the Wii was down to having a cool method of playing their sports game that no one had ever seen before, which was a lot of fun at the time. Fast forward 6-7 years and now all consoles have their take on it, with Kinect arguably being the most impressive and attractive to the consumer. With nothing to distinguish them this time, and with the 'must-have' feature of the Wii no longer considered to be as cool, their console will be judged on what else it offers. Aside from the gamepad, which isn't really a must-have feature, it doesn't really have a unique selling point not does it do multiformat games the best. I really do think that when people buy a new console they want a large graphical/processing leap from the previous generation. It's the same sort of buzz people get when they upgrade a new phone or car. You want to feel like what you're getting is newer and more technologically advanced than the last. -
With the Vita selling at £99 new in HMV it's already an easy purchase. :p

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

That's really quite damning for the Wii U, that the PS4 outsold a year's worth of sales in one day. Those sales are really impressive. -
That's crazy good. Effectively makes the Vita 3G about £90.
-
Been playing this quite a bit the last few days. Really love it! Great recommendation @Daft. It's very cleverly done. I'm in awe that a game like this can launch at £20, even on the PSN store. This is the way to do it.

Charlie Brooker's How Videogames Changed the World
Sheikah replied to RedShell's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I can see why it would be included (not watched it yet though). The way it was presented with little dialogue and no HUD. It felt like it was the father of 'beautiful' games. I certainly got the SotC vibe when playing Journey. -
So you're saying you forgot? Seems convenient that a roleblocker did nothing. Kill instead?
-
@EEVILMURRAY I want your answer. Good to see no defence from Rummy, gives us confidence in Jimbob. Also @Dedede, my last questions to you still stand. Given how inactive you have been, we want to hear from you. Your role and targets. Last thing to point out...Diageo is another we know little about. Seemed very eager to jump on Dedede lynch the other day. Role, targets?
-
Who did you roleblock last night?
-
I feel like the world needs to see this.
-
Who'd you track and what did they do? Sorry, read your post now. lol @ReZourceman seeing as you blagged your way through yesterday, I'd really like to hear your role and targets. It's my dying wish. You wouldn't refuse a dying man now...
-
I like this place too, but when people suggest warnings should be handed out for expressing negative opinions on game franchises, I do worry.
-
Because we didn't know if he was accurate. With 2 town results and one Mafia - either he is incredibly lucky to target 2 Mafiosos and is a dumb cop, or he's normal. Rummy has been well weird too.
-
Ugh, every time you post, every time... Such an unpleasant person.
-
I'll get on board with that. Vote: Mr Bump

@tapedeck not so! FFXV is actually really quite fresh (I'm guessing you haven't checked it out). It's easy to see the numeral after the FF and assume it's stale, but it actually looks really cool and totally different to the previous games. Dat combat. Give one thing to Final Fantasy: they do try to mix it up each game (a direct contrast to this would be the Tales series which is pretty conserved). NOT stale. :p
-
@tapedeck KHIII and FFXV. Yes plx.
-
I don't have a PS4 (yet), but people should add me anyway. Just because. My PSN is Meltigemini.
-
I'm not gonna lie, I've not been giving this game full concentration.
-
Yeah, this has happened every night. You get killed but remain in the game til the end of the next day.
-
So yeah, I'm dead. Thought that would happen since I've been pooling info/getting stuck in. I don't know which of you is town but this is a general message to you guys in particular @Cube @Dedede @Diageo @EEVILMURRAY @Jimbob Get working things out, questioning people, making lists, posting conclusions...aplenty. Admittedly some of you do, but... I feel the other players tend to do a lot more. At least in the last game there was next to no working shit out in the late stages. I was super disappoint. Obviously not Cube regarding that last point (last game). I realise now that I told DuD to 'send Smeagol to Mr Paul', but I know I didn't say the Mr Men names (even though I'm pretty sure we've worked them all out). So possibly nothing happened, but if that's the case it's a shame I got no alert back that I sent invalid parameters. Yeah, I'm a redirector. Dedede, I want to hear your targets for each night, then I want to hear validation of your targets from other players.

I just don't see where they can take it. It's going to be mostly the same game, as the gameplay is the game, and I've always found the campaign to be a bit of a letdown. Maybe the campaign will be good. I will say that Nintendo have series that make them different from the competition. And that the games would feel, to someone who has never played those series before, rich in imagination. But to someone who has played most of the games, I feel like they really are milking formulas. Most recently with NSMB U - although I kinda found it generally enjoyable, it was pretty startling how conserved this format has remained. Right down to the 'jump on spinning turtle dudes heads 3 times' to clear the world. True, I've played a couple of these (Kirby's epic Yarn and DK). While they don't follow a formula, I felt they lacked somewhat of an oomph.

Anyone else considering going PC/Wii U only this generation?
Sheikah replied to Dcubed's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Also remember that unless you're patient, some really great games (e.g. GTA, Dark Souls) release on consoles quite a while before on PC. I generally prefer the community on consoles but like the relative freedom of PCs. There's a long list of exclusives the PS3 got that I am so glad to have played. It would be very sad indeed for people to miss out on these.
