  1. I've not played NSMW yet (slow to arrive) but I'm guessing it's very polished and must have something new going on. All the other games I listed, the last ones I played felt a bit stale in terms of gameplay.
  2. Yes Zechs, I believe many Nintendo game series have become somewhat stale. I don't really care if you say that my view is hilarious. Belittling people's views like that such is a sure sign of immaturity. In terms of their home console offerings, NSMB, Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Smash Bros and even to an extent their 3D Metroid offerings now are mostly incremental upgrades. They laid down the foundations and produce these games to a formula. It's why I find the whole 'Nintendo are kings of imagination' comments a bit curious. Maybe once.... For me me, the pioneers of imagination are mostly in the Indie scene these days. Also don't assume PS4 is all I care about. I PC game more than anything these days and haven't got my eyes set on a PS4...yet.
  3. Naturally though developers will create games to run and look as good as possible on the PS4/Xbone, where most gamers are. It doesn't make sense to make a game not as good in any aspect as it can be. It's not that developers don't share Nintendo's ideology (quite frankly, I'm glad they don't); it's that in future the Wii U will require inferior versions of games developed alongside the main ones in order to be made playable. That's effort to make something look worse. Arguably most people would want the better versions of the same game anyway, so it's questionable whether it's worth the effort. I think in about 1-2 years we will definitely see titles on the PS4/Xbone that people will believe are a step above, at least technically speaking, and there will again be a huge contrast against what the Wii U will be doing (similar to the 360/PS3 vs Wii). I also think people need to be very careful about their observations on power. Having a powerful console does not mean that the games focus too much on power and not enough on imagination. This is a very simple way of viewing things and in my opinion absolutely wrong. Games should strive to be absolutely the best at everything they can be, including visually/power wise - as this DOES have a positive effect on the immersion of games. As far as imagination goes, some of the most imaginative titles of the last generation have been on the PS3 in my opinion (particularly the Indie scene). And in contrast to that, I think a lot of Nintendo franchises have become stale.
  4. Not Wii U, but you can get a 2DS + either Pokemon X or Y bundle for £99 in Sainsbury's (in store).
  5. Nice, think I will pick up Terraria. Would be good if it becomes cross play when it's released on Vita.
  6. I can't believe town didn't follow your words DuD. Like that bit where you basically narrowed down the Mafia by eliminating possibilities and they ignored it next day. lol
  7. Yeah I knew that, as I was untargetable.
  8. Nintendo do not have any good environment at all when it comes to their home console. The Wii U is bombing. People like Nintendo software, it generally sells well. But the console itself is not desired by most. Case in point - all Nintendo games released on Wii U so far are exclusive, including the acclaimed NSMW. But that still isn't selling impressively. People don't want to sink money on a console they think is last gen.
  9. Even though I only played PS4 (properly) when Golden released in USA, I get nostalgic about the game. A game I played less than a year ago... This game oozes classic. So wonderful in every way.
  10. "lol." You town so funneh.
  11. Regarding the risk thing about Sega. Aside from producing new hardware (which has bailed), Nintendo's are about as safe and conserved as you can get, in terms of their game franchises. Most of their games are now down to a formula, polished and sharpened from the 64 and DS eras. The reason I don't get the Sega comparison is because they were forced into the situation and I don't doubt their financial situation affected things. I don't see why with talented staff, teams within Nintendo can't make great Nintendo games. So long as there are talented people on board, and money (which they would still have), they could make great games. And without the pressure to shovel out conserved, rehashed games to provide their console with stuff to play, they can spend more time producing great games. BTW Bethesda have also done Fallout 3, another huge game. The point I was trying to make was more that Nintendo could have multiple teams working on different games like they do now. Each team would see a return on their games since people still want/buy them. If the Wii U isn't bringing them much money, and suppose their next home console doesn't either, then surely multiformat releases would mean more profit. Which would mean more money to spend on game development - so theoretically more teams producing more games. As opposed to less. And maybe it's just me, but I am a real software nut. I could easily play any Nintendo game on another console - it's all about how great the gameplay is to me. New controller methods always come second.
  12. But right now they need to keep themselves afloat and they have a responsibility to prop up their console. To do that they need to release a lot of games. This seems to mean rehashing content like New Super Mario Bros, rather than taking their time and making awesome new games or at least more different same series games. Elder Scrolls games for instance - you're looking at maybe 5 years between a release, but you get so much of a game when it hits. I would love for them to spend more time coming up with quality stuff, without the pressure of them having to provide a big catalogue of games to entice people to buy their consoles. Also I don't see how they can't still make games like Kid Icarus if they released it on other consoles rather than their own system. They still could. When you look at some of the crap that gets released, Kid Icarus must surely have more of a fanbase and will be poised to do better. One thing we can say is that the Wii U will not sell anywhere near as well as the combined Xbone and PS4 systems. Having your games on systems that everyone has just seems like a much better idea. So many more people could buy your games.
  13. It'll downsize but I don't see how that's a bad thing. It's a natural thing - they won't need staff to develop consoles/OS level software. If anything it'll mean people are less critical - no longer do they have to put out games just to keep a console afloat. Now it's purely about games and people won't expect games with such frequency. Most developers don't release games nearly as frequently as Nintendo, but then they don't have the same responsibility. That's not the point though - he's saying that a major reason why Nintendo home consoles won't get third party games because of stiff competition. The games in question that people bought PS3/360 for are GTA, COD, Dark Souls, Battlefield, Borderlands, Mass Effect, etc. These games already sell, regardless of what Nintendo outputs. Thus, saying that the reason for lack of third party support on Nintendo home consoles is due to facing too much competition from first party Nintendo games is false. If people will spend 30-40 pounds buying it on the PS3, there's no reason why they wouldn't have bought it on a Nintendo console.* * ie. The actual reasons for why people don't buy it on Wii U are not due to 'stiff competition'.
  14. I don't think their controllers have been very good since the gamecube days.
  15. That literally makes no sense. People are already buying third party games on systems like the PS3/360. If Nintendo games were so good that people bought them instead of the third party 'competition' (which I don't really understand as nearly all multiformat games are very different/non competing with Nintendo's type of games) then you would see people spending their limited funds on Nintendo games and not COD/GTA on other consoles. It would make no difference if the third party games were released on Wii U or the PS3 at the end of the day. If there was a really cool Nintendo game people wanted, and a cool multiformat game that was on Wii U and PS3, it doesn't make sense for them to opt to buy the Nintendo game on the Wii U, then buy the multiformat game but not on the Wii U. Of course, they'd need to downsize their hardware manufacturing side of things, which is certainly no great loss. They'd need to downsize their team responsible for designing the OS and networking features. Again, no great loss. If anything they could focus more on delivering great games.
  16. This always gets mentioned as if this singular event that occurred would happen to any other company that went the same way, EVERY TIME. Depsite Nintendo not being in anywhere near the same situation as what Sega was when they went multiformat. Nintendo releasing their titles on consoles that many more people own is better than releasing their titles on a console that hardly anyone has bought.
  17. I think the better alternative for the consumer is for Nintendo to just sack making home consoles and release their software on the other systems. It's a nice idea but ultimately a PS4 with Nintendo games is a better solution than this. People generally like Nintendo's software, just not their system/OS/networking features that they come out with. Which is affecting sales of their software, since people aren't splashing out on the hardware. Of course this idea is seen as radically unpopular about these parts. But that be so.
  18. Can't we just end it with a slap on the wrists and a stern telling off? Those were the days.
  19. The lynch was all but guaranteed until you said you were lying!
  20. Guys, we can't go on together with suspicious minds. Dedede hasn't been about but we don't really have anything on him.
  21. That's unbelievably good. The same price as a 2DS. Oh mannn. Get Persona 4, such an amazing game. Tearaway came today, will try it out tomorrow.
  22. You know that this might lead to his lynch under no votes system? What kind of proof is that? You know that Jonnas isn't Lazy right? Dedede is Lazy. So why are you saying we should lynch Lazy? Vote: No Lynch for now.
  23. Please explain everything up to this point why you think we should be voting Lazy. I have no idea why you're getting us to vote him right now. Also @Dedede. Turn up. Defend yourself. Second: Not so much turn up, rather explain your actions so far.
  24. I think it basically comes down to 'most people don't agree with you'
