Probably people are getting fed up of the fast one that Nintendo keep pulling with regards to selling the games individually but then not allowing people to download them again on the next console for free. I'd never spend say a tenner buying Mario 64 again, you just know they'll try and sell it to you again in future.

Very early on I decided to not bother with most of the sidequests after I learned there were loads of repeat quests within a given sidequest branch. There's just not enough variety in the game in terms of gameplay to make me want to play them. Also the most enjoyable map marker for me was slicing bamboo, but the rest had nothing to them that was enjoyable.

For me it's one of the most perplexing games of the last few years, one that gets a lot more praise and credit than it's due. I can only guess it's down to the immaculate presentation and theme.
-
How will you know if your screenshot actually got taken now though?

I found Ghost of Tsushima very droll. A really outdated open world game I felt, and a bit of a slog to finish.

It's good to hear that the series has matured a bit but I'm still not convinced they have shaken their B movie feel, particularly when it comes to script and voice acting. There's something a little...immature about Tales games in terms of their story, characters and script, which is fine when you're 14 but it hasn't evolved to the point that I've ever really seriously enjoyed a game since Symphonia. I might check this out if it goes cheap, we'll see!

20 quid, they're spoiling us. This is more about making it still a relevant option when there's an OLED model available.

Extra stages are hard though, you can imagine if they just appeared automatically and you had to clear them to progress, that would be a major challenge for novice players. Might be they automatically appear but you only get 1 or 2 chances at them. Or you still have to do so well to unlock them in the first place. More likely they'll just be their own mode, won't they.
-
Won't extra stages still only be unlocked in a given run if you do so well? Presumably that would be intact?

It's not just that, the animation of Pokémon moving and doing attacks often looks basic or awkward, like not much work has actually been put into it. Pokémon turning on the spot (which happens on the field) seems to be a big issue, it doesn't look natural at all.
-
Then outsource the animations. Loads of companies do it.

But a minute ago you were saying that money was also a problem? Which isn't really the case if you look at the screenshots above. Pretty sure many of those indie games were made quickly too. It's also something they should be able to reuse once they've done the work, the games are so similar in terms of recurring Pokémon and abilities. They need to develop smart. There's also a difference between focusing on graphics and having bad 3D graphics. I'd say that that Pokémon screenshot veers into "bad 3D". It's the reason why N64 games don't look great today while old school SNES games still hold up. They need to achieve at least a minimum level so their games don't look ugly in 3D.

Well put! Their whole argument revolves around Game Freak quite mysteriously not having that much money. Even if that was bizarrely true, your screenshots show that you don't even need massive studios and resources to make a good looking game. The excuses end here!
-
Please stop excusing them left right and centre. They clearly make loads of money, doesn't matter what percentage or cut of the total profits they make - even a small cut of a ridiculously massive pie is a lot. Game Freak have coasted for a long time now, they have had plenty of opportunity to shake up the presentation and even the gameplay of their games. How many games start more or less the same way and have you do the same roundabout goals - there's no excuse for stagnation. Whether you see the point in graphics is besides the point, it's basic upkeep of your franchise that there is simply no reason to neglect.
-
Game Freak have had years of making serious money to improve the presentation of their games, there's simply no excuse. And if they wanted to they could outsource like everyone else. There are games with a fraction of the budget and staff of what Pokémon games have that look much better.
-
Game Freak must be minted, the amount Pokemon makes. They could easily spend the money to make it look better. And whatever your feelings you're making excuses for them.
-
All good and very valid points. There is no excuse for shoddy production values in a series as big and profitable as Pokémon. Nonetheless, Glen-i is inexplicably on hand again to provide said excuses.
-
Mad they're still releasing it when it clearly isn't ready yet.

Not going to lie, you talking about it reminded me of how great the trilogy was, and I started reading up on some of the lore again to remind me of it. Long story short I went and bought the remaster! Man, how good was this custcene in ME3:

It's not difficult to grasp what he's saying, rather than actually address the points they're making you are systematically trying to discredit the source based on other reasons. The same way you're trying to do it with Rummy here - what's it matter how often Rummy posts? This is a bad way to debate and very transparent, and not really a clever thing to do. -

I'll ask again, do you have any medical background to make the assertion that people under 40 shouldn't be getting the vaccine? Next time I'm prescribed some medication perhaps I should just check with you first rather than read the dosage instructions? Also, you're wrong in your assumptions about me and how I come by information. I have a PhD in Biomedical Science and can understand the limitations of data and databases, and where best to look (hint: not Facebook). The BBC quote was because they had already done the work of explaining why you were wrong and saved me the trouble. If all you can do is criticise the BBC without actually challenging their debunk then that says everything.
