  1. Yeah, the difference is small, probably not very noticeable. Still, I think it's a shame they didn't bother with an improvement in resolution in docked mode at least. It's not like it will make the games look next gen but they would look nice and sharp at least.
  2. The reduced pixel density due to the larger screen is something that happened with the 3DS XL too. Most likely they don't care about the pixel density decreasing.
  3. One of the reasons I liked it so much is because there was actually some challenge involved. Normal Zelda games are so trivially easy, what with all the glass bottles of fairies you could always haul around.
  4. I'm of the opinion that Eventide island on its own was more fun than anything that featured in Skyward Sword.
  5. Shrines were everywhere though. I can't say I ever had the feeling that there wasn't enough to do in a given space. I think the most important thing BoTW did was shook up a very stale franchise. Sure Zelda games before then had been more crafted and on a smaller scale but they played out very similar to each other, right down to how dungeons were designed and the recurring weapons and tools. BoTW didn't win every award going for no reason, it was, pun intended, a breath of fresh air. The comparisons other people tend to make to other open world games of the time don't really work, as the game played nothing like them.
  6. Are you suggesting BoTW was randomly generated? If so, give me that particular random generator. I've some money to print...
  7. It was all about the DS Lite. Still had the GBA slot but a better backlit screen and size/weight.
  8. Do you want to revise that thought? In fairness Dcubed also said he wasn't confident enough to bet money on there being Switch Pro, but I'd certainly say this was sitting on the fence at best!
  9. Amazing that people still go to these charlatans.
  10. You know what they say about a broken clock.
  11. If the Switch is still selling so well then why bother with an OLED Switch? Because options are good. Makes no sense to me that they won't release a Pro version that plays all the same games, just like the competition. The only thing I can think is that they want the jump to be even more pronounced when Switch 2 finally happens. As it stands though the OLED model is disappointing and not at all a compelling upgrade for me. Kind of crazy actually, we live in a world now where people are going out less and less and they make a model that mostly benefits handheld players.
  12. You disagree that Pro models generally don't leave people behind? There is not one PS4 Pro or Xbox One X exclusive game that the base models could not run. Nintendo are the only recent example for leaving behind players, with a very small number of New 3DS exclusive games. But that is not typical, and they could easily decree that there won't be any exclusives just like the competition did...
  13. I mean, that's never really happened with any Pro model, so not even an issue. This is disappointing for me, Switch hardware is starting to show its age already.
  14. So I've gotten back into this game and am really enjoying it. Last night I had a great run, getting Lead God (killing all 5 bosses without getting hit in one run) and the trophy for completing Bullet Hell, all in one run. It's so satisfying when you get a good run and your weapons/items all synergise so well. Such a cleverly designed game.
  15. As annoying as buying up exclusives is, you have to wonder if it will result in more stable/optimised games if developers aren't having to put their games out on multiple systems. Bethesda comes to mind with their games that ran like utter shite on PlayStation consoles, for instance.
  16. It might well have a positive effect. It could bring Nintendo into the 21st century!
  17. If there's one game that doesn't need lengthening it's Ghost of Tsushima. That game was waaaaay too long. Hopefully the "Director's Cut" would just be a refinement of the game that's there, not adding more to it. In all honesty though, I didn't really like it. A pretty but dull game.
  18. It works fine for me, never had an issue with it.
  19. Guys, guys. They're both not great games.
  20. This is basically Tales games in a nutshell. They draw you in with their anime graphics and real time battle system but then you realise it's the same old thing. They've been peddling the same shtick for decades.
  21. Not sure if people can be bothered setting up a US PSN account, but you can make some big savings here. E.g. Demon's Souls is (after conversion) about 35 quid on the US store (link). You can make further savings (and avoid having to pay in dollars) by buying a 50 USD (USA region) PSN card for 32.15 GBP from Eneba here. So Demon's Souls for 32 quid, all in all (same price for Returnal, actually). For anyone interested but who hasn't done this before, you can buy a game by logging into your US PSN account then switch to your regular UK PSN account and play it there. I don't think I'll be doing it as I'm content to wait longer for a discount, but makes these prices somewhat reasonable for those that want these games now.
  22. I'm not sure, but it looks and plays so good anyway that a PS5 version would probably be unnecessary.
  23. I don't know about you but the Final Fantasy Origin trainer was funny. To the point of it being my favourite trailer that I rewatched several times. For me E3 is at its best when it's awkward cringe. Had that trailer been middle of the road I doubt anyone would have remembered it!
  24. If it helps, the website is garbage and will often show you dates it didn't show before if you randomly refresh a lot or come back slightly later.
