Wow, today's episode was quite amazing, tense! I feel sorry for poor old Tony though I guess it's been quite a sad and dramatic for hollyoaks overall this week, been breaking out the sad credit rolls. I'm already over on E4 to see how monday's is gonna turn out!

I get a feeling this'll take a while to hit europe if it's still in translation, because PM games are typically full of plenty of jokes, and I can see them being the kinds of jokes which end up getting lost in translation, so if they're translating for the various european countries, they have to sort all those out and replace them and whatnot.

Does another thread have to degenerate into pointless bickering over who's right and who's wrong? You both have your beliefs, which you're entitled to(funny actually, sort of comes into what Jonwah was saying), and nobody can 100% conclusively say who is wrong and who is right. Not only that, but I highly highly doubt either one of you will be able to convert the other to your viewpoint, so why bother trying to justify and argue about something that is a matter of opinion, and not fact?

For what it's worth, I'm not a hater, I actually quite like Ricky Gervais's standup, though I've never been live, but I actually prefer it to The Office.

I see where you're coming from, though due to the stigma of the word I would find the term 'nigger brown' quite offensive if ever used by anyone. I know what you meant about calling your friend it jokingly though, I actually don't think that's bad if neither of you have a problem with it. The reason I think racism is looked at as being worse though is because it is very nearly completely beyond your control(with michael jackson being the exception to the that), but realistically it is beyond the control of most people, whereas the other things you described are not.

You can only move them to an empty space though, I spent ages once trying to figure out how I'd moved it the first time and couldn't do it again and thought it was due to a system update, I'm an idiot. So you don't think Xenophobia comes into racism? It's a completely seperate issue? At what point do mixed races turn into non 'mixed' races, because I'm sure there are plenty of people who are not purely white, black, asian or whatever, and they probably won't even know because they won't know their whole family tree. Do you see what I'm saying? I don't think it's as clear cut as the slight biological differences.

Ok then, so what is it if you are being discriminant against a french person? Nationalism? What race is the child of a white and black person? I think it's much more than just skin colour, it's culture and background. As I said though, playing with definitions makes things tricky.

So basically people would class anything that fulfills the 7 life signs as an alien? More, less? Some of them? (for those who may not remember the seven life signs from gcse biology, such as myself, they are Movement, Respiration, Sensitivity, Growth, Reproduction, Excretion and Nutrition, apparently) It's not that I don't believe in aliens, I actually once had a theory along the lines of ViPer's post, it's just I'm not sure how alien should be defined, and don't want to say yes yet

Interesting point, I used to be of the idea that Religion is still a choice as such, but skin colour is completely uncontrollable. Would it be fairer to hate someone because of how they've been brought up, than to hate someone because of the colour of their skin?

Given the results of the recent Wii poll on the EVC of whether Aliens exist or not(70% yes to 30% no basically), I have decided to make a topic about it. Firstly, how about you, do you believe aliens exist? I was one of the people who voted no, because I'm kind of unsure, and don't even know what constitutes an alien? What do you think of when you think of aliens? What IS an alien, how would you define it? I was just asking my friend, he said 'something that was born on a different planet to earth?' which I found interesting, because it sort of implies stuff. Then I asked what if I went to the moon and had a baby, would it be an alien(yes, both of these are very unlikely but, you know, hypothetically speaking.) Then he said 'a race substantially different to humans, that evolved on that planet?' Though, the question then is how substantial? It also made me wonder, if we managed to find plantlike life on mars, would you call it an alien? Please be respectful of other people's ideas and beliefs in this topic, everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and no matter how much to believe you're right and they're wrong, it doesn't neccessarily make it true.

Ahh, BlueStar! You've brought up something I hate when it comes to racism! What constitutes a 'race'? How can we define what a race is? Surely, we are all part of the human race? All white people are white, all black people are black, and there is the asians in between. White people from britain are different to white people from france, black people from britain are different to black people from france, and within each the white and black people are different from each other? Who's here to define it? I had a debate once on this here internets and one apparently middle aged guy who insisted that it comes down to the actual bodily features and skull shapes etc, and nothing else such as culture. He also insisted he was too busy to keep replying to me, because he led such a busy life but was spending all his time on an mmorpg, but couldn't stop playing for reasons he couldn't disclose. Either way, that's not important, but I never got a chance to ask him what race a child of a black and a white person would be? Even so, in resposne to the original post, The Daily Star were being kind of racist, and so was Jade. However, Jade's racism was more of an ignorant racism, the daily star's was not and they meant joking intent behind what they said(doesn't make it all right). Jade was stupid and had no idea she was doing it, which I think was worse. Sure, she didn't mean to be racist, but it doesn't mean she wasn't, though I do think it was blown out of proportion. I also agree that to some extent in some circumstances racism is more inbalanced and biased against white people, but not always, and not that often. I think there's valid enough reason for how it came about too, from all the slavery and oppression initially by the whites. Of course, it doesn't apply anymore as it's all been done away with, and I believe everyone should be treated equally and judged for who they are, not what colour they were born and where they are from. (the first part of my post is all hypothetical stuff, and I don't class asians as 'in-between' but it does tend to be all about black and white with racism)

How rare is Pikmin 2? And was £20 for a preowned copy not in great condition a good deal or not? I'm trying to decide whether to take it back or not... (in the event i could get it cheaper elsewhere)

Wow, I just realised I've actually played a bit of FF1 and FF3, silly me! Waiting on a port of...FF7? Though. Whatever is the really popular one that Advent Children was made from. Yes, this thread may exist elsewhere, but someone in MoTD didn't want to make a thread for the topic because wherever the thread is dead, and I think also that the Final Fantasy series has become much more than a game title. Speaking of more than a game, can anyone who's seen Spirits Within tell me if it's a good film worth watching? It's been floating around my home for a long while now, but I never bothered watching it. Is it based off one of the games in particular?

What happened to the eye popping arnie? It made me chuckle every time I saw it, because I've seen that film. What a strangely shit yet amazing film about absolute nothingness!

Just kind of wanted to stop the meaningless post thread from getting cluttered, and this is one pretty broad topic so I doubt it'd die out of there. I've only ever played one FF, and that was FFX, which I quite liked after getting into it. I also never knew the al bhed had spiral pupils until a while after I played FF, guess I just don't stare into the eyes of RPG heroinnes enough. Anyway, Final Fantasy and beyond, discuss it here and not in the MoTD thread!

Apparently he can only do so for 10 seconds or so, and that bar shows the amount of time he has? You have to wait for it to restore after a 3D outing before you can have a full one again or something. I really do think this game is more of a 2D side scroller than a mario rpg game, think back to super mario world. As for the hp thing, maybe the levels are like really long, like a constant side scrolling thing, no world maps or individual levels and save points etc, who knows? As for NoE letting us down, would it be a change? I think there should be a NoUK made, and the UK get versions before the european languages versions, or at least for DS games...I hate waiting!

I hadn't realised that Bradford Meade is none other than...Jim Robinson from neighbours! Legend! Even more reason to watch this lol. (sorry for the bump, but i was amazed when i heard, then realised how silly i was for not realising before, though it's been a long while since I've seen jim robinson either way)
