  1. Apparently he can only do so for 10 seconds or so, and that bar shows the amount of time he has? You have to wait for it to restore after a 3D outing before you can have a full one again or something. I really do think this game is more of a 2D side scroller than a mario rpg game, think back to super mario world. As for the hp thing, maybe the levels are like really long, like a constant side scrolling thing, no world maps or individual levels and save points etc, who knows? As for NoE letting us down, would it be a change? I think there should be a NoUK made, and the UK get versions before the european languages versions, or at least for DS games...I hate waiting!
  2. I hadn't realised that Bradford Meade is none other than...Jim Robinson from neighbours! Legend! Even more reason to watch this lol. (sorry for the bump, but i was amazed when i heard, then realised how silly i was for not realising before, though it's been a long while since I've seen jim robinson either way)
  3. Yeah, I agree. Even just upping the price of petrol would in effect be like charging people for the distances they drive, though I don't approve of either. What's the need for a complex system that has to monitor lots of cars when they could just put the price of petrol up instead?
  4. Wow, that looks awesome. Screw the whole realistic graphics stuff, give me that any day, reminds me of the old school like super mario world, I can't wait for this! Maybe I should have paid more attention, it seems this isn't as much in the RPG style of the older games, it's more of a smw type platformer, though it should be good none the less.
  5. So it may not be introduced as a stealth tax or in order to create a big brother society, but that doesn't mean it won't end up being used like that, that's one of my concerns. What about the humoungous tax already on petrol? I swear we have like the highest petrol prices in the world or something(ok, got nothing to actually back that up), but it is pretty expensive already, where's all that money going to? I saw the thing on the news that Oli mentioned, and apparently despite this petition the scheme is still going to be piloted in some areas. Really, it isn't so much a democracy as it used to be, and no one can really stop the government doing stuff they want to do.
  6. Yeah I know! There's no way it won't come out though, cos stuff like that I'm sure you have to have regular checkups and stuff, though I imagine the stigma is gonna stick with Chris even after he's cleared, Will is a right bastard, he's making sure it gets around.
  7. With instructions from my mother, I actually just mixed up and cooked my own pancakes, they aren't half bad, though they look weird cos she told me to use the demerara sugar in them so I did, but they taste quite good, if you overlook the fact some are a bit overcooked(oops). Pretty decent though, I have had a couple already with my chocolate sauce, gonna have another soon with some maple syrup! Though I don't actually cook them in a pan, we have this weird sort of flat piece of metal which is pretty good for doing pancakes, but you can't flip them like you could in a pan, but still they work out pretty well!
  8. I'm quite interested in it too, only I'm not sure yet, don't wanna rush into it and change my mind cos if you do you can't re apply for something silly like 8 years, so I think I'll get my degree first, then take a year out and maybe work or something, then apply for it. I don't know alot about it, except a teacher at my old school did it(i learnt a tiny bit of japanese in yr13, as a replacement for a period freed up by the fact we only did general studies to AS level) and she was really cool and said that the JET thing was really cool too, so I've been considering it ever since! Fields, it's basically when you get a degree in anything(do BAs apply? Don't mean to offend any BAers, but I'm not sure) from a uni over here you can go to japan and help to teach english, get paid flight and paid for the work you're doing and I think they help with accomodation too and like take it out of your wages and stuff and you can even apply if you don't speak any japanese but need to show an interest in learning and in japan as a whole and stuff.
  9. Pancakes never say no!
  10. It was actually the advert that got me interested in this game, I thought it was one of the Wii adverts that actually looked decent enough to make me want to buy something, then I went to the reviews on gamefaqs(I prefer those to ones from like ign and stuff) then I came here, and plan on getting this very soon.
  11. I avoided this thread, because you are all very mean people. It's not like he even claimed it to be possible, he was just asking if it was possible, and still person after person comes in telling him how stupid he is basically, and I think that's just harsh. All right, the point has been made, do every single one of you have to come along and stick it in further? Also, I don't even think it was that ridiculous of a question. Though the concept of another sort of memory expansion is a shit one, Nintendo should do things right first time round.
  12. Wow, this is alot worse than I imagined, I thought she had just gone and had her head shaved because she fancied a change, but apparently the place she went to tried to talk her out of it then she snatched the clippers and went and did it herself. I feel sorry for her, looks like another victim of fame and success
  13. Oh yeah, you're right, I did mean Will. I remember Joe now, he was trying to borrow money to make some suits to sell then ended up in debt and tried to fake his death. I thought he was a good character, but yeah they killed him off in the pub fire
  14. I didn't know! I never know about pancake day anymore I used to when I was little just put some sugar on it, and maybe some lemon juice and wrap it all up. Now, I like to have a bit of maple syrup and wrap it up, but even better is choclate spread on a nice hot pancake, rolled up mmmm! Hazlenut chocolate spread is best if you're gonna do it, I can't wait til I have my pancakes later! (i don't have time to make any now)
  15. Everyone looks different to what I was expecting for me, pretty much everyone anyway. Here are a few photos from my new year's ones, I'll try and get one of my face straight on, but I don't tend to have them because I can't help but look like an idiot in photos, both intentionally and unintentionally. This isn't from new years obviously, just a photo I took one day, which I don't do too often. Fixed. As it happens, my avatar when I first joined was actually of me, one of my most awesome photos ever.
  16. I really hate joe(I think that's his name), I have done for a while actually, since he broke up zoe and that zak guy. It's like they've gone for a bit of another clare, only toned down a bit, hopefully he'll get his comeuppance soon though, cos what he did was well harsh.
  17. Yeah, I looked on wikipedia later, Sod's law is apparently broader than Murphy's Law, and theres also something else called Finagle's Law, which is related but I think narrower than Murphy's law, or more along the lines of if you do something to achieve something, the opposite will happen.
  18. Was the thing you were watching on channel 4? I was watching C4 cos my freeview plug is broke, again. Anyway, I was falling asleep to something about old tv shows, then my mum came and turned it off and I was too lazy to turn it back on, but it was pretty cool, no idea what it was called or actually getting at. I remember this of course, with the bald guy, and the guy after who wasn't as good. I thought it was so cool, them running around from place to place and the crystals themselves looked very...sparkly! I wonder if you can get them from anywhere...
  19. I'm just requoting this post for people after an sd card and a reader, because I think this is a real bargain and worth the few days wait. I haven't actually tried the 2gb card in the wii to see if it works, but I assume it does. Other than asda, does anyone know where I could get this game for less than £30?
  20. Isn't there a difference between Murphy's Law and Sod's Law? Apparently people usually think of Sod's Law as Murphy's Law, but that law actually states that if something can be done wrong, it will be by someone somewhere. I remember seeing some pictures in relation to it once, and one was of someone who has tried to show a cd into a floppy drive. I think I'm wrong actually. Meh. I can relate to the time thing though, whenever I'm at work and look at the clock it seems I always look at them at the same times, either that or the clock is broke Oooh, another example, when you've been waiting ages at the bus stop for the bus, and it's getting incredibly later. It's 10 minutes late, you consider walking, but then decide it can't be much later. Then it's 20 minutes late, so you get ready to walk off, but dilly dally for a little bit because it can't possibly be any later, right? By now, it's 30 minutes late, and you've made up your mind, you're just gonna get walking. Just as you start, the bus arrives, or it passes you just after you've gone too far from the bus stop to make it back in time.
  21. I totally see where the original poster is coming from, and I also think Nintendo should have made a bit more effort with the wii, or maybe made it even cheaper because I'm sure they have turned mahoosive profits on wii sales alone. Then again, they are a business looking to make money, and may be funding that into something other than their pockets, who knows? Not me. When it comes down to it for me though, practically every single time it's gotta be Gameplay over Graphics. You can't have a beautiful game that plays shit, but you can have a shit looking game that plays beautifully. Graphics enhance gameplay though, but I think gameplay is more important(I have played runescape since a very long time ago, and it's one of my favourite ever games, despite being rather crap looking in its first incarnation). Having said all this, FFX was a really awesome game, and might not have been what it was without those excellent graphics and story, so...I'm not quite sure what my point is anymore.
  22. I feel like posting pictures of myself now, though most of the photos are on the other computer. Time to put my 2GB SD card to use! I also remember a time I had makeup on, but I had been drunk and don't remember it happening, then woke up and looked in the mirror and saw I had eyeliner on, and for some reason was eagerly trying to get it off before anyone in my family saw me, but it was bloody hard to get out! Unfortunately, I have no pictures.
  23. Bromley? That's not too far away from me... As for your predicament Kurt, from what you said that you do, sounds like you're doing exactly what you need to be doing, just make sure you are talking with every customer. Though, my proper advice to most people would be to try and find a better job, because in the majority of cases shop work is absolute shit in comparison.
  24. One element that mario rpgs seem to constantly have that I haven't seen in any other RPG is the use of 'action commands', they do add an element of real time to the turn basedness, basically if you press a button at the right moment you can do extra damage/take less damage, I think it might be part of what makes the mario rpgs different to others, and maybe why they're so good
  25. Got a picture? Someone posted about some sort of overheating issue with the wii which causes the GPU to screw up or some such malarky, it was in a thread I made about Wiiconnect24(well, not actually about it, but titled under it).
