  1. It's annoying cos it means we're now doing everything an hour earlier, such as having to wake up grr! Is there even any much advantage to DST anymore? (apparently the idea was thought up by Benjamin Franklin)
  2. I totally agree with that, the screens on the box look crappy compared to how it looks for me in game, very nicely done, and a bloody good lot of fun! I'm currently struggling on getting S ranks in a few excite platinum tracks, but I don't play too often. I really really like the pick up and play easibility of this title, pick it up, race a race or two(or ten, after it sucks you in!), maybe do a few challenges or so too, rather than GP style races, very good!
  3. I'm living at home and going to uni, and starting to lose all passion for uni/academic work. I feel like I've been working since I was 4 years old, as I went straight from school to GCSES to A-Levels to Uni. I mean, it's a really awesome subject(BSc Psychology) but the work isn't really my kind, it's alot of written and theory, remembering names and dates, and awful stats. I'm more of a logic/numbers man, but after doing a-levels in physics and maths, I thought they were getting too tricky for me. As I said though, psychology is really awesome, very interesting, and I've found as I've gotten older I've got more passion for learning stuff, I learn about everything, spend hours on wikipedia reading about random stuff, but I'm not so much one for working. I'm just approaching the end of my second year now, and wish so much that it'd be over and done with. I'm sticking with it obviously, to not piss my parents off and because I'll have a degree in psychology at the end of it, and I think it's a pretty broad subject and so I could get alot of different jobs I reckon, easily change if I'm in something I don't like. I definitely don't plan on doing a masters or anything further academicwise after though, at least not in the next few years.
  4. Ok, here's the skinny, somebody is going out for their birthday in a few weeks and I'm invited along, but of course as alot of girls seem to like doing, she wants it to be fancy dress with a theme of what you wanted to be when you were older when you were little. That's what's important here, what did you WANT to be when you were LITTLE, not like what do you want to be now, unless it's the same, but yeah, you get the gist. The reason I'm making this is partly for the fun factor, but also because my memory/ambition as a child was clearly limited, and I have no idea what to go as that isn't something boring(i used to say i wanted to be a 'reporter', which i think was the equivalent of a journalist but I didn't know that then because I was like 5 and not many 5 year olds know the word journalist, but I digress!). So, basically, post all your childhood ambitions so that me and my friend can totally jack your five year old dream jobs, due to our rubbishness.
  5. That is all so true. Usually when I'm doing something not work related, my mum asks me if I don't have any work to do, and I tell her no, then she tells me I should be doing my work and to get on with it. Yet, alot of the time when I am actually doing my work, she'll ask me to be doing housework and stuff, telling me my work isn't everything and I have to do other things, such as housework.
  6. You have a bloody excellent point imho. Nintendo are the equivalent of a retard in the console race to me(no offense to people with disablities). They're like, doing everything, but just not properly enough!
  7. I was bored, and through the wonderous magics of filthy natural hair grease because I haven't shampooed it for a few days, I managed to do this and take a picture. I think it looks fairly awesome. It brings about a question, tune into the MPotD in a few minutes to find out more!
  8. I imagine that'd cost more than just sending them direct to your wii which should have been tied to the VIP account on entering the shop channel anyway. I reckon this is just them testing things, silly Nintendo, don't do your testing in the public domian! pretty sure it is a test, given it says; 789 1888 left! wiipoint 1000 zum 2. Astrid Test
  9. Pepper and Vaseline, the cures for EVERYTHING. I'd like to say that's a little exaggerated, and in truth it is, but the scary part is that it is really only a little exaggerated. My mum says stupid stuff all the time, she isn't home right now, but I bet by tuesday I'll have a whole list of stupid stuff. In fact, I'm gonna start writing them down as she says them, see you tuesday! Oh yeah, she used to tell me that playing video games, and watching wrestling(for the brief few years that I did) and basically anything with slight violence or even slight fun factor, would make me aggressive and violent. Fucking aggressive and violent my arse, I OUGHT TO KILL THE FUCKING WITCH! All of these. Another thing that really annoys that both my mum and dad say; Me: *whilst filling up the kettle or holding it in my hand* Do you want some tea? Parent: If you're making some yes. I'd like to add on the video game one, that I have pretty much been watching TV/playing games since I was like 3 years old, and probably using computers(though not as much) since I was like 6, yet am the only one in my family not to be wearing glasses. Yet they never hesitate to ask me to make tea at any other time they fancy some, grrr! Or sometimes, out the blue, when I'm CLEARLY not making any(for example, whilst sleeping) they'll just ask me 'Are you making tea?'
  10. I agree very muchly. I don't mind so much with other things like games, or stuff in quite a large quantity of supply that stocks will not run low due to it, but I really REALLY hate people that do it with systems, and am rather glad that no one is managing to get back what they paid on their PS3s. Admittedly, I'd rather that happened to people trying to resell wiis, but apparently it's just too popular for that. In fact, the more annoying thing about this is probably that Sony are still getting their monies rather than falling on their faces!
  11. I dont think JT was in any way related to this actual subject, but I thought it meant he shed a tear of sadness, at the fact gaming has been spread further around the world? He's an idiot either way, I don't wish death on many people, but I would actually really like him to die in some sort of crazy hilarious gaming related incident, like a large stack of PS3s falling on him and crushing him, or something.
  12. Thanks for the help guys. It's all getting a bit complicated for me, and I'm a bit too busy to get into trying to fix it atm. The most bitching thing is that the CD drive most certainly is broken, I already tried the XP restore, so my next priority is to try and get the drive replaced, which hopefully won't cost me too much, then I'll probably try and get on fixing it myself. If not, I might just ask the people who sort out the CD drive to fix it for me, if they can. I've gotten over losing all my stuff, though I'd rather not, but I'm sure I can live without it.
  13. Well, it's some good publicity for Nintendo, it gets their product around, and also, it's gonna make a few sick kids happy for a while. I'm gonna think of it like that, rather than them not putting their money to the better use of curing stuff, because it makes me feel much happier, somehow.
  14. Does that first bit mean, quite literally, 'I would really like a library, please'? It's been a while since my days of gcse german...
  15. AYARRRRRRAAARRAARARRRAARAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH. (It is SO a word, go look it up, just make sure you spell it right!)
  16. Does anyone else think the 90s was a bit of a shit decade for music? It was all rightish, and so are the Noughties, but I gotta say I really love it when I hear some classic 80s or even 70s pop. Examples of some such awesome artists would be The Police, The Smiths, The Michael Jackson, UB40, brought alot of early rap, loads of stuff! Alot of Bob Marley's good stuff came out of the 70s and 80s too, I like Bob Marley.
  17. A PENIS, LAWL! No, not really, my first thought was the classic...your mum. Seriously though, maybe a nice tranquil scene that would help me relax, or maybe something deep and symbolic like the traditional Taijitu or Om.
  18. Very big thanks to everyone who filled out the questionaires and sent them back to me! I'm on the analyses and writeup now, as the project is due friday, this can be locked/dissappear'd/whatever happens to redundant threads.
  19. I heard a song on xfm yesterday, and I think whilst it's not all that musically, it's a pretty cool and amusing song. It's called Thou Shalt Always Kill. As for music preferences myself, I'm easy like sunday morning, I take songs and bands as they come, and try not to single out genres. Having said that, Bloc Party are one of my recent top bands, they've got something unique and catchy to their sound, I like it.
  20. I like your style mr chris. can you actually refer to elephant trunks as a probiscus? i thought it was only limited to things like bugs! Speaking of bugs, maybe it'd be cool to have a really realistic looking fake spider there, not a real one though, I hate spiders!
  21. why is it that penis was automatically the first thing I thought? not for a reason, just because I apparently associate it with foreheads. It sounds really weird, but it just popped in there. Then my second thought was 'Your Face' as a random thing, but then decided, it'd be pretty cool to have someone's face on your face type thing. Practically, I think Flinky's suggestion is the best, I would rather like a camera on there, as I don't have one to hand ever, or a camera phone, and it'd be super handy. Ooo, handy! Can I have an extra hand? Maybe a breadmaker would be cool to have there, so I can always have some bread. Actually no, a kettle, so I can always have some tea. Too many options!
  22. A new question along the same problem. Does anyone know if I can get DOS to recognise an external harddrive, be it connected through usb or whatever it needs to connect through to be recognised by dos?
  23. Who knows about statistical analyses? Namely, mutliple regressions in spss and how to interpret what you get out. I have 3 IVs(extraversion, neuroticism and gender) and 1 DV(luckiness score). They're all continuous, except gender of course, because...welll, because.
  24. It made me lol! I think Jack Thompson is a secret conspiracy theory, employed by Take Two in a radical new form of publishing, and soon we will see a similar kind of lawyer called Tack Johnson suing Sony lots for ridiculous things.
  25. I've had that before, I think it's pretty awesome. I also get this weird thing, normally after I've been drinking, where I'm really thirsty when I wake up, but in my dreams before I wake up I find myself constantly constantly drinking something. It happened last night as well actually, but this time instead of drinking lots of water in my dream, I kept having pints of beer and choking on it like(where you swallow and it's like theres an air bubble).
