  1. I was a checker of the main site for a long time before I joined or even looked at the forums, it was a good site for news I thought, and started commenting when they brought comments into effect this time round(I understand it was possible before then disabled). However, I don't think I'm compulsive, I comment on stuff that interests me, I guess it doesn't seem very compulsive to me in contrast to my forum habits.
  2. I caught very small parts of this, there was just so much stuff on tv i wanted to see tonight! This, Greenfingers, Al Murray's Happy Hour, Freaky Eaters, Ugly Betty, so hard to pick! I ended up with Al Murray though, flicking to the brits from time to time, wish I'd watched it more though cos Russell Brand was presenting and I like his style. How was he for a presenter? Was it also just me, or was Liam rather rude about their award?
  3. I think you put the emphasis on the wrong word there, silly. When the xbox launched, or the 360, or even the PS2, did they all have online right away straight away? I imagine Nintendo are still testing the waters and whatnot with the Wii, getting servers and that setup for the online, it isn't exactly an easy overnight job to set up an online game network, is it? I bet you wouldn't be complaining if there were NO online features as of yet, but everyones like 'but, it can connect to the internet and do some stuff, so it should clearly be able to do everything!'. Were you the same as this with the DS, assuming you have one?
  4. Some people can be so thick. God forbid they could actually *gasp* work on more than one thing at a time?!!? This is probably just a little thing they've added to shoot a tiny bit of life into the wii, and also maybe to make some money on the side, who knows? Either way, it does NOT mean that they have dedicated the whole company's resources to making this one basic channel and aren't working on anything else at all.
  5. WAY too tiny but double would have been enough? Sounds like it isn't that small then. I do agree, more internal memory would been better, or some viable ways of expanding such as direct read/write to a usb harddrive, or to SD cards.
  6. You know, I'm not that surprised to hear this. Ten years ago, did you see all these chavvy kids on every street corner, on friday nights hanging around near offys trying to get served? It is getting worse, kids ARE getting worse, and I don't think its anything to do with education at all, it's about them getting too much liberty, maybe. I dunno what's causing it, but it does look alot like things are getting worse. Yobs, violence, stabbings, usually reported in local news and stuff tends to be done by people below 21. A perfect example would be the kid from peckham who got scentenced today for a minimum of 30 years for shooting a woman dead at her niece's christining(i think), along with some other boys who proceeded to rob everyone there. This kid was only 16 or something? EDIT: Yep, he was 16 at the time, and killed 2 people in 2 weeks. http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/crime/article2269460.ece
  7. One song I'm gonna have is stickin in my eye by rancid, there was an awesome moment once when I was on my way home from uni and it came on, it has a little bit of a mild intro thing, and then JUST as it was about to kick in I saw my train pulling in and had to start running, it was such a fitting tune, and I thought it would be awesome for a racing game, unfortunately it's a bit short. I'd suggest a few good meatloaf songs, and I dunno how it'd work out, but maybe some drum and bass.(Pendulum, High Contrast), they're awesome tunes to get you pumping, and would add the euphoria of playing the game, maybe.
  8. So just two games have actually been released? They deserve credit because they have released just two games which I haven't really heard anything about and because they have some more on the way which *could* be shaping up well, but might just have been painted in a good light? As for a good review, I wouldn't put it past EA paying a magazine to paint a game of theirs in a favourable light, unless I'm mistaken they pay(or did) Game to have like a little EA stand in their stores. No, no special treatment or appreciation for EA from me, not yet anyway.
  9. Can someone actually name me some EA games for the Wii which have been released already? I can't seem to find any as of yet. I also want to see if they bring their yearly sports games to the Wii, and how they go about it with the online, given their wants for dedicated servers on xbox live and ps2, which they can turn off to force people to update? Until then, I'm gonna stay a bit skeptical.
  10. Never spell it right, you might catch The Gay! Gentleben, I think it would just be best if we found out whether your name is actually Ben, or what it is if it is not? Have you another tale for us on this holy day of love?
  11. You know ZeldaFreak, I think you bought the wrong thing when you bought a Wii. It's like going to a shop to get something to hammer in some nails, buying a screwdriver and then complaining how shit it is at the job. A Wii is a Wii, a PS3 is a PS3, a 360 is a 360, A Wii is neither a PS3 nor a 360, they are all different things. I think Nintendo decided to go with something different like this, it isn't so much in competition with the others as they are with each other. It also sounds like your problem with the pointer is your setup, stop whining about it and fix it, it isn't Nintendo's fault, it sounds very much like yours. Also, I gotta say your story of two live accounts is a bit shady, and also offputting if you would have to create a whole new account to avoid some whiny american kids, even more reason to not have the same features on wii. I don't see why any of that would have to have been done? Or do you mean if already existing ones were to be brought/ported to wii? I think it'd be cool if they actually brought out that light gun shell for the wiimote, and made a game for it, but you could configure the 'gun' in game so it'd be a straight aim sort of thing(like with the Super Scope). I mostly agree with these, as for the profit they're making, I'd actually put it at somewhere from £10-£50 given that they're turning profit in all territories, so let's call it £30 average. I think even if it's less than that, they've made a ton of profit, but I am quite confused as to where this money is going, it should be going into making new games decent, and the online service decent too. I think the reason for the lack of things with the Wii, is probably because it was quite different, and Nintendo just couldn't afford to sell it at a loss because if it flopped it would probably have seriously hurt them. Even so, Nintendo must be pulling in loads of money with the Wii and DS, I just hope they put it to some decent use.
  12. I didn't think much of this, probably cos I'm not normally one for racer type things(he says, having owned N4SU2 and Burnout Revenge), but since seeing an advert on TV I dunno why, I got sort of interested, then I went to find some reviews; http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/review/933000.html And it looks like this game has had quite a good reception, and I'm seriously considering purchasing it come friday, despite the fact I shouldn't because I have other things to do, and had alot more money flowing out than in lately. The one thing I am concerned with however, is longetivity/replayability of this game, does anyone know the rough sort of playtime someone could get out of this?
  13. I wasn't around in the 70s for the originals, but I did rather enjoy the Kristian Schmid ones, probably cos I thought of him as Todd from Neighbours. Does anyone remember Buck Rogers? I don't really remember much of it, beyond the fact I used to watch it on bbc2 or something, I'm not even sure why. Speaking of stuff on bbc2, please please please someone out there tell me that you remember Space Precinct?(might not have been on bbc2)
  14. Jesus, is there something wrong with me? Every time I see SSX in this thread, I read it as sex, I just read it like 30 times already! Looks like it's true what they say about men. Anyway, I have harboured a slight secret hate for EA, I think it was due to hearing about them treating their employees a bit harshly a few years back now, and partly for their sort of generic game styles and constant remakes and money grabbing(sports games and exclusive servers for online). They weren't very console exclusive neither, just porting and porting. However, I do own a few EA games and have to say they have been pretty darn good, they seem to have a decent length to them which I like to look for in my games. Def Jam FFNY for example, my first game on xbox and thoroughly played by me too. They also helped bring us the fantastic TimeSplitters 3, N4SU2(another I bought), and also the Burnout Series, which I first played as a demo on N4SU then bought Revenge as my first game recently. In fact, they are pretty decent developers, but I dunno how well they've done for Wii. I think the fact I don't know this probably somehow reflects their efforts maybe?
  15. For some reason I never watched that when it was on, I always sort of decided I didn't like it with nothing to go on really, however I've recently seen on ITV3 and it's actually pretty decent. More in that vein and moving away from cartoons and kids stuff, a few of my favourites that I actually watched when I was littler was Quantum Leap, Early Edition, The New Adventures of Superman, probably some others I can't remember right now.
  16. Make sure you start playing it so your wii notices, that'll really get her back! Though Wiishe is a bit weird sounding, Shewii is better. As for the point of this thread, I'm not sure, but none of you found it amusing? I think it's also mocking certain kinds of threads too, I say leave it open until the 15th, then close it. EDIT: Yes! Another person likes it! High five Dyson!
  17. It's not really on topic, but can you actually just buy a load of rocks in Wilkinsons? I've always been amazed by Wilkinsons, it's a rather overlooked store in my opinion, but I've thought of them as a sort of old woolworths, and they do sell an amazing range of stuff! I used to collect £1 coins when they started changing the designs on them, like they put the lions on it and stuff, but I stopped that after a while. I was just amazed with how shiny they were, and they had different stuff on the back!
  18. I was about to come in here and suggest a merging, the other one shouldn't have been bumped, or maybe it should have, either way, a merge will solve that!
  19. Not much really, started a bit of a pint glass collection, nicking glasses from pubs which my mother dissapproves of muchly. That's about it, got a few various ale bottles too, but that's mostly to just remind me which ones are good.
  20. Haha, this thread was much better than I was expecting. I enjoyed reading it, although I worry greatly for the original poster. You remind me of someone too, is your name actually Dave and you're using Gentleben for coveR?
  21. I know this really cool guy who I met through a friend, and his name is Valentine which kind of added to his coolness sort of. I found out today, tomorrow is his birthday which sort of explains his name(he probably told me before, but I was probably drunk too). That is all I have to say on the subject of Valentine's Day.
  22. If he meant sarah, then I'll second that, on both counts actually. Foz was pretty cool, but I never understood where/why he went? It must have happened whilst I stopped watching over Christmas/Wiimas. Wow, tomorrow takes a turn for the worst!
  23. I'd rename it Revolution, or go back in time and never call it Wii. A serious one though, I would MAKE BUTTONS CUSTOM MAPPABLE ON THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE SO PEOPLE CAN PLAY ALL THEIR GAMES WITH A GC PAD. Sorry for the caps, but it REALLY annoys me, it'd be simple to fix too, surely? Something along these lines too, the option to wire in the CC, or even Wiimotes, and of course a rechargeable function for the wiimotes. EDIT:Also been mentioned, but some decent online, or even some online, with no friend codery. DVD support should have been included too! Support for direct read/write from SD cards! Codec support for videos/audio!
  24. The Tomorrow People? Tomorrow Girl? Might have been called The Girl from Tomorrow Pugwash? I tried to find it, I found out it was actually called Pugwall. can't think of any others, but I do remember both Round the Twist(a classic) and Ocean Oddyssey, which I believe had the same kid. Another cartoon I remembered...Tailspin! Any takers? Baloo, King Louie, all that jazz? It was like a cartoon with the jungle book characters in different roles. Also, anyone remember Swamp Thing and Attack of the Killer Tomatos? They were both cartoons based off the original things. EDIT:I see you updated your list Dante, very impressive!
