What an interesting thread, seems to have gone all over the place and covered lots of ground! Original point, the annoying girl and her views. Well, I probably share Paj's views, BUT I feel the two of you are probably just as bad as each other! Neither seems to acceptant of the other's views! I know there ARE people who don't like drugs, or even drink, but all I ask from such people is their reasons for why. I'll glady give me reasons why I like it, and why I may disagree with their point of view, though I wouldn't hate someone for their views, nor push drinking on them(and I won't not drink around someone who doesn't like it just for them, except maybe in exceptional circumstances). Which reminds me, does bluey not drink? And are people thinking that people are actually just gonna get absolutely trashed at the N-E meet? Cos that's not really so fun. Drinking in moderation, kids! Why DOES the girl have such an issue with drugs, did you ever stop and ask her, Paj? Anyway, about drugs... I do disagree with stuff like this though. Maybe it's because I'm rather aware of the major flaws that can come in experiemental designs and analysis and findings, and fickle it all can be(as I'm sure fish is aware of too, at least in part). I rarely take 'statisical' evidence at face value these days. As for the whole drugs thing, I dunno. Weed CAN be pretty devastating in some cases, but on the whole it's obviously nowhere near as bad as heroin on average. Like, heroin fucks up more people than weed does, from what I've been led to believe. I think there should be a definite distinction between trying something/experiementation, and being a regular user, also. Back to drinking/related establishments though! I don't get how people can dislike pubs, a brilliant place to go chill and chat with your mates, and have a few bevvies if you like also. I love pubs in summer! Never played much games though, Jenga in a pub one was probably the only time. Funny though, whole pub had eyes on us lol. I know some people may not wish to have a few bevvies(and that's fine too), but it goes back to the drugs thing, I don't think you can fully and wholely condone something until you've tried it and had full experience of it, to do so would annoy me immensely if you put total conviction in your views being right and fact rather than personal opinion, and I think that's probably why Paj was so annoyed with this girl.

Goddamn you Viper! I was hoping to hide my stupidity and ignorance from the world! But yes, on a corded phone with buttons on the actual phone and not the baseset, it'd work, cos it needs the signal of the button press to answer, which it won't get if it's disconnected?

EDIT: And you know what, I've just realised his prank actually worked the other way round to make it keep ringing. Which leaves me throroughly confused as to how it DOES work, too. I imagined it more to just be a hilarious way to mock your mates. I'm gonna try it with my own phone...right now!

I'm quoting this because it's exactly what I was about to post, cos everyone's talking about erasing memories whereas this thing is erasing fear memories, as in, it's erasing the fear, not the memory. It seems to be more killing an emotion, than anything else, and I have my qualms about it, but then would compare it to half the drugs that already exist in the world. Topic title is a bit misleading. Alcohol already does it, anyway(when you have enough of it and make a tit of yourself, that is). Though on the subject of Eternal Sunshine, surely it showed that it never really works? Or that there's simply no point, as to lose a bad memory and have it again later, you just have the badness of it all over again. I disagree with anything ever erasing memories methinks, BUT! This isn't actually about that, so it's irrelevant.

I feel sadthings though, I do not/have not worked in an office sort of situation(though I spent time in the nursing office at work) and so I have no hilarious pranks(plus our phones are cordless). The disconnect thing Odwin posted is geniusly simple, I love it. More an impromptu assualt than a prank, but one time we got a reel of sticky tape plus an individual as a 'taper', an unsuspecting victim in a wheelie chair, and an accomplice to act as spinner. I'm sure you see the potential hilarity for things.

Haha, I did used to have some wireless problems, but after what's now a good...3 and a half years? The DI-524 does a fairly good job on the whole, if anything it's better now than it used to be...except this dropping problem. It's been happening less recently, but still appears to coincide rather alot with SYN floods, I think only once I checked it and saw none in the log. Gots me rather confused! I'd go wired, but it's a bit of a bastard setup given my current housial location in relation to router, it'd be a pain to run wires.

So basically I have a terrible setup(I have a laptop, use a chair for a 'desk' and bed for a 'chair' which isn't so bad) but I'm considereing shortly getting back into a terrible mmorpg which I have been hopelessly addicted to over time, and find playing on that kinda strains me with the leanings and typings and clickings etc, so I'm basically after a nice cheap usb keyboard that'll plug and play away to extend just a little bit towards the direct of my bed so I don't need to lean over. I've got myself sorted for a mouse, which is currently my 360 pad! Courtesy of the amazing Xpadder, but I've got a usb mouse too incaseofemergencies. I guess it'd be a plus if it was Wii compatible but only a very tiny plus, no idea if there's any need for keyboard fuctionality on 360, really those are just very tiny pluses. The best thing...it should last a relative while for its price! I'd looked for some before, but it seemed every keyboard I bought was just bloody PS/2 which isn't what I was after, cos my craptop doesn't have a PS/2 input. I tried a few 'wireless' ones too, but they were so shit and cheap they didn't even work. Cheap, GOOD, wireless'd be brilliant, but I'd settle for cheap wired reliability for now if it's a massive difference

Ahh, and with no achievements either? Looks like I might be doing that then!

That actual review itself is a bit...poor? Though it may well have convinced me to take this game for a spin, I'm assuming they'll have added achievements and stuff for its re-release? Also how much does 1200MSP roughly equal in RL cash monies?

When AVG pops up virus names and stuff I usually whack them into google for some more info from people who've had the same, though I guess you might not be able to do that right now! It certainly looks amazing, but I do share doubts of how amazing it really is and how much you can play on stuff(though tbh, go back to the school days of 'you do this much work and you get to play on that for so much time' would be a brilliant way to motivate people!). Would be nice to just burn yourself out on them things too that you can settle into some work, though I dunno if I'd ever manage to burn out...

Ahhh mate, this is exactly the sort of thing that I was saying! I mean, how often are you ever actually gonna see something like that, and when you do you just think nothing of it! There's so much in so many things we just take for granted, it's amazing when you stop and actually look at it all!

I think all you singles need to lighten up! Though I say that, I'm determined to avoid the emo doom of V-Day by finding something, anything, for me to go out and do! Though preferably in the company of some pretty women. I met a nice girl last friday, but I decided I was too drunk to do anything without making a tit of myself and have no way to get ahold of her now, otherwise I'd have tried to take her out saturday! But even so, I'm not bothered! My current plans are to find(and it's amazing to realise how many cool single people I don't know) someone else in the same boat and take them out for a fun filled evening of funs to cheer us both up! Unfortunately it seems the rare few I know have their own plans, and I dunno if I'm gonna settle for the crap people. I think V-Day should just be a day to go out and have fun if you're single, so go do it! Stop moping!!

I couldn't scroll down for ages, I couldn't actually think of any artists I'd actually seen!. Like, I've seen Monét, that's always a painting, and I thought of Van Gogh, but that's always a painting too! My final answer came to rest on...Rolf Harris, lol. I'm amazed how many artists I've not actually seen/can remember. I think I saw a picture of Warhol once, but couldn't for the life of me remember what he looks like.

Bit of a thread hijack! So with this homebrew channel, is there a way to continue to use your wii/update it, yet also still manage to use the shop channel without peril, but manage to boot foreign discs at the same time? I've got a PAL wii, and an NTSC ssbb, but I'm feeling a bit sentimental about it and all my stats and replays, and trying to figure out if there's any way I can manage to update my wii and things without losing my capability to play the game(which I'm currently doing through a freeloader) nor my ability to play my wii(through it being bricked). Dunno why they didn't just make it a transferrable save. Nor why they made it different for different regions grrr.

At present, I'm using none of those(and haven't for a while) so I'm still confused but I could try it if I knew more? Dropped a few times today, looking at the log, I drop, reconnect, and then there are 4/5 SYN Flood Packet Drops on my router's log AFTER i've managed to reconnect. I don't have to diagnose/repair or that(which i've tried numerous times) I only just disconnect and then my laptop automatically reconnects by itself and it always has full access. Otherwise what happens is it simply tells me that the internet is dropped(if you know the Vista network icon, it has a little globe to show internet access), and the globe isn't there but it's connected and on highlight says connected with limited connectivity etc. Dunno if any of that helps shed any further light on things...

I'm guessing I'm not actually allowed to post my face in this thread, but let me assure you, it's pretty breathtaking! Though on a serious note, I've never really seen much that strikes or hits me with massive wows, except the forest I was in last monday, so covered in snow and so untouched. Went through shaking lighter trees as we later walked through, just to give the falling snow! For me, I tend to find some single photos of some things so mediocre and taken for granted, simply amazing.

As Mr_Odwin has stated, it has so been the case! Though the minimeet in St.Albans was a bit short on the attendance side, I managed to make it(having missed the sheffield one) and it was rather brilliant if I do say so myself! Looking forward to the summer's! Meant to reply ages ago, have you booked your flights/etc? If you have, then yes, that's the date. Basically, if you commit first and you've got enough pull, it's gonna happen. Anyone who wants to whine about it not suiting them later, it's tough, they had enough notice and enough chance to complain earlier!!
