It's come up before but can I ask people to refrain from trying to shut down conversations like this? Whether the intention or not? It's actually quite rude and offensive, and I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it the other way around.

A point King_V has also made a number of times - but what of us who AREN'T buying the console because of it? I know I'm certainly in that group. With Nintendo's past performances and how much I see echoes of the WiiU around Switch in addition to an as yet undefined online service - I will definitely not be getting the console at launch for anything about £230 - which probably being an unrealistic price in itself for launch, means I won't get the console then. I was about to say I think the obvious choice for devs is to 'switch to Switch' - the WiiU's been dead/dying for a while and it's officially not supported with first party any more after BotW. The only real risk is if the Switch does worse than WiiU - at least with WiiU they already have a fairly solid idea of the install base. Personally I think in the long long run Switch WILL do better than WiiU(mostly because it's not going to be that hard) but it won't get off to the greatest of starts. They'll sell out their 2million but I'll be very interested to see uptake between launch and xmas, then at xmas, and then next year. I think for Switch to really take off and beat the WiiU it definitely needs to end up at a lower price point.

And what does the website say now, at the later date? That the full details are coming after launch - the website page follows on from what was said in the conference. It's an explicit reference to it and what we're talking about now How or why is that even 'the most likely explanation'?! I think the most likely explanation is to, and this may sound crazy, take Nintendo at their word of what they're saying?! Considering the conference referenced the website and the website seems to be quite clear(ie not just a single line or sentence) about what will be there both on launch, and at the more official launch of the online service(ie app, VC, monthly download etc) I'm happy to give you one, as long as you'll be happy to give us one when you're proven wrong It's quite amazing to think you actually know better than Nintendo despite what they've officially put on their official site!!

Don't you go getting logical on me, Ashley! Why do you think there will be a Nintendo direct in a couple of weeks when they've clearly stated both during their reveal conference AND currently on their website that those details are coming after launch? It's not like we're speculating here, those are the official lines from Nintendo themselves. I'll trust them over your and a baseless supposition of a direct in a couple of weeks that would contradict that; even if I don't actually trust them to actually make a decent success of the Switch out of the gate :p

Books clothes or money would probably be my almost-thirty-soon-too kind of shout. My mum's pretty good at buying stuff for me so I'm usually quite happy with her getting me clothes! Otherwise money is just useful because you can put it to almost anything; even if it feels a bit weak as a present(i honestly don't mind tho).

My own concern isn't that there won't be online at launch(in fact I believe some semblance will exist from the reveal conference) - more what concerns me is that they won't release details of the online service until after the console is launched. That's madness to me - and certainly not the sort of thing that sells me on buying the console; it's essentially a complete unknown until who knows when! Will their 'after launch' be the day after? week after? month after?? 5 years after??? It's just vague. (EDIT: Btw if people actually clicked Josh64's link they'll have seen there's definitely online gaming from launch; just we don't know the full extent of it and the voice chat/app etc seems to not be ready for then)

I don't think I've ever particularly been a Narrative in games kind of guy - so I can't really think of ones that have 'stuck' with me. Journey's one of my most memorable gaming experiences - but it can be argued that the 'narrative' in that is somewhat bare, and my memories aren't even related to that so much anyhow. God it feels really weird trying to think of Narratives that have stuck with me from games! I can certainly remember games but can't think of anything blowing my mind with its story - maybe the quirkyness of some of the Mario RPG/M&L titles?

Moral quandary - Cineworld do an unlimited card for £17 a month; if you were paying that price would you feel more justified in engaging in an act of film piracy - knowing you could have gone and seen the same film in the cinema without cost as part of your subscription? Question isn't just to you mind Eddage, tis one for everyone - just your post made me think about the questions.

I think both the points being made above are valid - it's fair enough to suggest something that might be offensive, but you can't then get upset with someone who does take offense by it if you can acknowledge the potential for offense. I don't think there was any malice or bad blood intended though. As for myself and spoilers - hmm. I've sometimes spoiled things over the years through the use of guides, trailers, tidbits released before the game etc. I don't actively SEEK spoilers(did more so when I was young due to excitement, but also information was much more limited back then too), and usually any 'lets play' or review I look for in a game I'll try to find only the first portion of the game being played(as it'll be what I experience first too) but I do think there's a slight difference in story spoilers with a video games vs say a film, or even a book. There's a lot more active agency in a video game - that even if you ARE spoiled on story you can still get a lot out of the gameplay and any bits of story you weren't otherwise aware of. I think that can make a big difference compared to a film where you're a generally passive audience, and whilst books feel more involved due to imagination the same argument could be made there too(tho I don't think it's exactly parallel). Generally when it comes to play a game these days I'd like a general overview of what it's about and its gameplay to help me decide if I want to buy/play it(gameplay being most important) and often I'll probably look on HLTB to see how long it may take me - but outside of that I don't actively spoil myself too much as far as I'm aware. Sometimes I spoil myself inadvertently in advance by following a game I don't originally intend to pick up and later get - but again I'm usually well aware of this so it's no big deal.

Also re: DriBuddy/any general drying even on racks - open a window if you know you're getting a lot of moisture in a short time and in a small space. I dry my clothes in a large room and let it just happen - but I presume/hope said moisture wafts around my house and eventually dissipates - no major signs of damp in my almost 3 years so far. If I had a working bathroom fan thingy like @Naar I'd definitely be sticking my shiz in my silly small bathroom to dry though. *No actual idea if it's an SI unit because I was too lazy to google but I'm bloody well hoping it is.

I am as a clean as a man called David, and I'm sticking to that. The lack of informed practice on the part of pirates does somewhat intrigue me though - I've known of a few people who have set things up for their family etc who don't truly understand the implications of what they're doing. I guess it's a plausible deniability, but I do still think it somewhat foolish. Ignorance of the law will never be any defence - even if they won't catch up with you soon you have to still wonder and be wary of what might still come; especially if you consider cases from the good ol' days of piracy*. *Of which I'm familiar with on a purely theoretical basis of research. Tbh the majority of my media comes these days either from Freeview, Netflix, Youtube, iPlayer, 4od etc - or something along that ilk that works with Chromecast. I don't see as much opportunity for potential piracy as there possibly once was because some of the current streaming services provide such excellent content and ease of service in conjunction with all our megabroadband connections that you just wouldn't, in theory, be all that arsed with pirating stuff as much.

Decided to go for the Moto G4 and with that code plus another that came up on Google I ended up getting it for £150, with bamboo back and gold trim with black for the main front bit. I haven't got a confirmation e-mail(ordered about 10 minutes ago) yet and annoying the 'order complete' sort of page doesn't list the e-mail I put in either! Is it though? To my layman's mind I find myself asking a simple question - if developed entirely in-house and from scratch why would one(or more, as it seems you suggest) of Nintendo's official released VC games contain an iNES header in it? Why even use an emulator dev/hackers header/file format if you're supposedly so against emulation and everything it brings and developing from scratch in-house? Again, maybe I'm just not educated enough on the matter, but as far as I'm concerned there should be no such trace of an iNES header if Nintendo did it all in-house as claimed. It certainly still appears as if they're using the work of someone who they condemn heavily. I'd address the second half of the post but all of this moves further from the Switch and a lot of it makes too many assumptions - if you have some solid evidence to back it I'll happily take it, but otherwise it's almost nothing more than anybody else's equally valid and unbacked speculations(though for yourself personally I give a little more credit than that, so please don't take any offence by it as I don't think you'd assert that view lightly).

I'll refer you back to these words next time you decide to hint at supposedly privileged information... I think you've articulated my general feelings on Nintendo and feelings I've had since the Wii U much better than I ever could have. I feel quite sad when I think about it, sometimes.

As I made my response I did think 'I hope she isn't awkward with any food' - typical that she'd be a vegan :p Still - good jumping off point - suggest dinner but acknowledge that she's vegan and see if there's anywhere SHE can suggest that's good for her. If not or she insists on not doing dinner dial back to drinks/coffee/whatevs. Mostly it's just me but I always like dinner as a starting point - just a bit nicer than a quick drink, gives plenty of chance for chat and learning about someone etc. You can always go for dinner and then drinks after as well. Don't opt for any awkward cover story in the asking her out either(ie pretending you bumped into her etc) - just straight up go for it as it is and be honest about it.

How weird! I found myself having a bit of a hankering myself in the last few days - though I'm going to tackle it on PS4. I've still to this date not solo hardmode'd a world myself, but I'm gonna try and do it on a fresh/throw away world on PS4. Gotta prep my underworld and maybe get my weapons in order - but yeah; hoping I'll actually finally defeat the Wall of Flesh after all these years :')

Personally I won't bring myself to trade the Wii U in - but I still echo that if you guys are thinking about trades etc including all your games to give people an offer here too! Knowing that I'm keeping my WiiU I might attempt to fill in some of the gaps I left by not getting certain games.

I'm more curious as to how many games he got and at what price - I can't even imagine there's been enough WiiU games to bring the average below £10 a piece with system factored in too! EDIT: Wait I think I understand - you mean that per game the Wii U's base cost adds on an extra £10?

I like the city setup - those shots make me think of TMNT for some reason! Like just as a concept not as a game - the turtles running round on rooftops at night whilst the city sleeps!

Ha! I was just thinking that's a rather gaping hole in the logic there - jumping to conclusions without fair evidence! I do think it'll come to the Switch eventually nonetheless, though not on its own release date. Regardless I was happy/planning to get this on Switch if I got a Switch, but they've put me off so much that I think this'll end up being a PS4 purchase for me instead. Bit of a shame as it doesn't help support for the system etc, but I still can't justify it.
